He's a phenomenal artist, a true creative genius of the highest order. But like many geniuses, they are not fully appreciated or understood till after they die.
Not a "fantasy" or "metal" artist, like many who first examine mistake him for. There is no fiction here, only real life, taken to its most awakening and most horrifying. It's art that makes us see within ourselves, for better or for worse. I've never seen art like this before or since, truly unique. I don't know if its out of modesty or to antagonise that he says there is no deeper meaning or symbolism to his work, but his pieces are as philosophical as they are haunting (and quite literally filled with symbols throughout) Maybe he really means it and never came to terms with the powerful impact of his aimless creations. I am certain that in 100 years Beksinski will be considered one of if not the greatest artist.
I too love him and his art, feels to me like picking up a crude oil lamp and turning it on inside our own heads to light up and see what's behind the mist. Thank you so much for posting this gem, I am forever thankful for Poland and their people.

It's really cool to see his amateur sketches from the 60s, It's really interesting to see how much he evolved his skills. Nobody starts out a master.
