4:40 its easier/quicker to grow the selection with the radial menu by holding ctr+RMB -> grow selection -> grow, and then press g to repeat the last command :)

I am unable to extrude the faces and offset like you did at 5:30. Any suggestions?

Oh how weird.... Maybe try resetting your extrude settings and see if that works! If not let me know and I can dig a little deeper.

Just hold tab while you select! Such a useful selection method! Especially in circles.
