I noticed this on lots of ski lifts and Yan high speed quads when the chairs on this lift enter the terminal why is there a climb in the terminal when the chairs enter?
I don't know for sure. Best guess is that the ramp probably helps slow down and speed up the carriers. Old VonRoll VR101 and Hall/PHB detachable gondolas used ramps completely acceleration/deceleration, so Yan and Poma probably decided it would be efficient to combine both tires and ramps.
