Been subscribed! But most importantly.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MJ ! Have a blessed filled day filled with love!
Tupac notably had a tattoo saying thug life across his stomach, but once again, the meaning of this tattoo is often misinterpreted to be negative or criminal. In fact, Shakur once explained in an interview that THUG LIFE was actually an acronym standing for “The Hate U Give Little Infants Fucks Everybody.” Tupac’s acronym still forms, for many, the core philosophy of thug life: Children are the future, and so filling children’s minds with hate, raising them in an oppressive political system, and asking them to accept horrendous things like racism, sexism, and police brutality, has a snowball effect, which eventually destroys life for everyone, even the oppressors
loved this comment!
damnnn
This movie brings me to tears every single time😭Sabrina carpenter did an amazing job cuz I hated her character in this movie
Reallll✊✊
Saw this in theaters with my best friend. Did an entire study on it in college. I'm now working on incorporating it into my classroom as an English teacher.
Awesome! Teachers like you make schools a better place. God knows how much useless nonsense schools teach nowadays!
My school had it as a required summer reading for upcoming freshmen
Her mom was a good mom 😂😂 I feel like she was “prioritizing” prom because she knows her daughter went through this traumatic event and she’s trying to give her some type of normalcy
Correct!
This movie came out on the year I was police brutalized. Not only did this give me some PTSD, I was rooting for Starr. Schools need to put this movie out especially on Black History Month.
I'm so sorry.
@@truthseeker9249 thank you but don’t worry I’m okay.
Nah they need to read the book. The movie doesnt include even 1/4 of the important messages that are in the book. They changed way too much.
@@bailey7792EXACTLY I just recently watched it with my mom after reading the book and scenes were either scrambled in different places or some stuff were changed to happen to someone else or were just not like the book at all like they never introduced the guy who actually got beat up by King
Much Love To You For Surviving.
Keep Fighting. God Bless.
This movie definitely a gem, one of my favorites. The scene where Maverick lined all the kids up in the yard was my favorite scene in the movie, very powerful 💯
GIRL I CRIED WITH YOUUU SO MANY TIMES 😭😭😭SUCH A GREAT MOVIE AND ANOTHER AWESOME REACTION❤️
No cus same😭
"If it was up to me, this would be my bread and butter" killed me ahahahaha
amandala doesnt get enough credit for all her amazing performances! like people only know her from the hunger games but shes such an incredible actress outside of that!
She’s a freaking badass! I first saw her in Colombiana and didn’t realize that was her until I watched Hunger Games. Everything, Everything is another great film where she’s her own hero and I love it. ❤
@@melissaa143just for the love of God don't mention The Acolyte
The Sun is Also a Star was good
@@JuanRodriguez-tf7fhthat’s Yara Shahidhi not Amandla Stenberg
O.M.G. Yes finally!! Ive been tryin to find someones reation to this movie. I watched it so long ago and i love watching others reactions to my favorite movies, kinda feels like im showin a friend and seeing how the react to certain things. Your video is the first one ive ever found of anyone watxhin this movie on youtube, so far at least.
This movie brings out all of my emotions every time. Very good movie!!!❤
When i saw the thumbnail i was like fs she finna get emotional😭 especially over things i saw her watch before aint no way she wouldnt get emotional to this one
I love how u make things crystal clear especially to us gen z’s we all gone through things luv u MJ keep doing you ❤❤❤
whether you're a Gen Z, Gen X or Millennial, there's something that I have learned over the years. no matter how much unfortunate circumstances you've endured, there will always be others who've been through far worse. that's why we always say "count your blessings."
Happy Belated 22nd Birthday, MJ! Watching SmurfVlogs reaction to this movie brought me here when this video popped up on TH-cam and I’m so happy you’re not the only one and here’s hoping more people react to this movie in the future on TH-cam and/or Patreon! Also, I’m thinking about reacting to this movie on my birthday on Patreon, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Rumble and Facebook accounts when I turn 25 this year!
This movie has me crying like a baby everytime
Me too
this is one of my favorite movies can't wait to see your reaction, also happy birthday🥰🥰
Happy birthday MJ 💐 I hope you achieve whatever you want in your life 💞
Happy 22! I read the book in school & then seen the movie fills in a lot of the backstory. I always read the books before watching movie adaptions. Helps to give an understanding. I’m 21 I’ve been through it too & tbh I hate traffic stops because sometimes it’s really for no particular reason.
This movie is so damn good but also so damn sad. It's definitely wholesome. Oh and btw Happy early 22nd birthday Queen 🥰❤️
It's definitely not especially if you read the book first
Movies like this are SO necessary but so damn hard to watch. Seeing all the injustice on-screen, hearing the bullshit arguments characters make, and being unable to say anything or do anything about it just burns. I can only watch movies like this once, but I always remember them.
No matter how many times I’ve watched this movie it still makes me cry 😭😭😭
I’ll never forget when I first watched this movie nearly 6 years it really impacted me; even got a book and a few of Angie Thomas novels that was set in the same universe. Also recommend to check out On The Come Up movie if you want to
The actor who played Khalil also played Ralph Tresvant in The New Edition Story. He's also in the HBO show Euphoria. You might also want to check out that show on your tv channel.
Wait, did he act as Mkay from Euphoria?
Happy Birthday MJ!!
Happy birthday MJ 🎉 wishing you many more
Happy Birthday, MJ! ,Hope you have a great birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉
I loved this movie!! Amandla Stenberg and the whole cast acted their asses off....and it never got the accolades it deserved when awards season rolled around the next year and it pissed me off....I feel like I've lived so many lives pre vs post covid that I really forget how much America and black Americans went through in that 6 year span from like 2014 to 2020. So much death, so much anger, so much injustice...and it still continues
Amandlia played the hell out of Rue from THG so that makes sense
soo much triggering, 0 accountability
The Hate U Give is actually a book and they made it a movie props to everyone who this movie adaptation good
The hate you give is so great, we watch this in class in 8th grade after we read the book.
I absolutely love watching your reactions! So genuine.
Happy birthday MJ sending you lot's of love 🌹
Happy Birthday MJ 🎉
This movie was so beautiful! I cry every time i watch it. Everyone acted their butts off too!
Sabrina's a good actress. It took me a long time to start liking her again after this movie😂😂😂
Saw this movie a little after it was on streaming and to me it was a needed addition to the awareness being brought to the conversation on police brutality. Speaking on the silence you mentioned though since I lost my twin in Dec 2o21 I haven't been able to handle the silence at all. Folks always talk about the "twin telepathy" and for us it was very real so since shes been gone the silence has been painful for me. I want to get to the point where I can face it and not crumble.
I read this book in high school and this was one of the few book to movie adaptions I loved. I do wish Starr was darkskinned like in the book, I really resonated with her for that reason.
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
Happy birthday Ms. MJ!
I watched this the day it premiered and I watched it simply because I'm a major Tupac fan and loved it a lot more than that!
When she walks up to the casket that Khalil is in and she almost faints hits me do hard because I dealt with the same thing. My boyfriend in high school was murdered and he had an open casket and I almost fainted when I walked up to it. Just on that alone it's hard for me to watch, Everything else just hits hard as well. I may be white but I grew up around the corner from the projects and my family was very poor. Grew up on the East Side of Cleveland Ohio back in the 90s... a lot of Police Brutality, Racism, Drugs... etc.
Also I love the fact that you love Maverick (the Dad) he was definitely someone that stood out to me my first watch.. He is the perfect example of a true Father ❤
Happy 22nd birthday Mj ❤ the best reactor
this is my favorite movie EVER so excited to watch you react to it ❤
I was, and still am, a big Sabrina fan before this movie came out and when I did watch it, I fucking hated her with my whole being. She played the part so well if she can invoke that much emotion in me. Also, Amandla constantly giving phenomenal acting performances
People who be trynna say “yall don’t know struggle” don’t even be black Mexican etc cause people who deadass been tru hell and back don’t say shiit like that to people who haven’t if anything they try and help people and don’t want other people to struggle in life when it comes to gang violence and some more
Maverick is one of if not the best Fictional fathers in literature
Happy birthday hun🎉🍰🎂🥳🎈New sub. Can't wait to watch more of your videos.
Happy birthday mj🎉
In the book Natasha is a childhood friend got shot during a drive by when she was little and star was there
This movie is about police brutality and how bad it could get, i am glad she made a change in this movie ❤ very powerful message
Happy Birthday MJ, 🎂 🥳 🎉 Always love your videos you did I enjoyed
I understand everyone here. The parents they lived and survived the best they knew how. But someone has to stop the cycle of surviving. Stop trauma living.
happy bday mj
A classic tear jerker 😢😢😢❤
This movie is good but hard to watch.
When it comes to the friend being racist, I think it's so hard to repair a friendship with someone that, deep down, holds prejudices about you. I came out to my friends and we just never talked about my sexuality, but every now and then they would make jokes and I would wince and laugh it off like it was okay. But deep in the back of my mind I knew that if we ever actually *talked* about sexuality for real, they would say something unforgiveable. And when it happened, I couldn't forgive them. I'd known them since we were kids, knew everything about them, but when they showed their true colours, I knew they weren't truly my friends. Friends don't secretly think the worst about their friends and then act like you're overreacting when it all comes out.
Happy bday MJ!!
Happy 22nd Birthday 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Always enjoy your videos Happy Birthday MJ 🎂
LAWD DIS MOVIE IS DEEP‼️ AND BTW HAPPY EARLY BORN DAY MZ 22 QUEEN👊🏾😎🖤💛💚
This movie was filmed at my hs Mays Raiders! I was a senior at the time
I luv this movie I cried so hard the first time I watched it. Imo her mom was trying to prioritize the prom and school work to give her some normalcy and and take her mind away from how people looked at her differently. The thing I love the most about this movie is the strong black in home father that is there spending time with and teaching his children survival techniques all black children need to learn. In all actuality her father was quite nice to Chris, most father's are extremely overprotective of their daughters and don't want them dating atall, but because it was a secret from him .he could have been a whole lot worse.
This movie is one of my favorites the actor is amazing! The movie really made me cry though ❤
Happy 22nd Bday MJ🎉🎉🎉❤❤
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GANGY! 2 More life & More Blessings. 🙏🏽🫡🍻
34:15 Ummm.... My mom puts bread crumbs on her mac and cheese and serves it to our family. We love it like that.
Happy very early birthday beautiful MJ
Omg someone finally watched it loved the reaction ❤
You got such good movie reactions you really the TH-cam home girl 💯😂
First and foremost happy birthday wishes to you. Also I'm curious why can't I ask about spiderman did he do something I don't know about? Maybe MJ is more fun I guess without him? Another good reaction video this is my first time ever seeing this too keep up the good work.
I've always thought MJ kinda looks like Amandla Steinberg, seeing her watch this movie kinda confirms that😅❤.
We actually named our son after the little brother ‘Sekani’ I wasn’t a fan of it at first but I really love his name. He really is Joyful.
I need to see the film 😭
Happy 22nd birthday MJ
Happy birthday 🎉 and thank you for watching this
Watching this hit close during times of protesting. I'll never forget the police attacking us, using gas and sprays, eyes and skin burning for days and even milk didn't fully soothe the pain. Watching folks get arrested and still trying to look out for others while running for your own life. There's some things you just can never unsee
sure and the buildings burning down and the looting that was billion dollars in damage 😂😂
@FAMEROB Not sure what that has to do with police violently attacking peaceful protesters but ok. You do know that it was revealed that the vast majority of those doings were undercover officers or people hired by the police to make it look like violent protests, right? But if you were uninformed enough to make that comment then I'm sure you don't

Happy birthday 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Girlll this is how life is frfr
Anyone saying you do t know anything because of your generation are idiots and should be ignored, don't ev3n give them air. Only thing i ever critique you on was your opinion about gang members because you don't know their life and experiences. That is why I love this movie and fruitvale because it's gives a honest view of them as more than glorified thugs. This movie is even better because it encompasses all sides and how easy it is to be drawn in and how much people fight to get way from it and give back to the community.
Happy birthday and keep up the videos, they keep me from falling asleep while I'm coding at work.
HBD!!!🎉🎉🎉
I remember having to watch this in class 😭I had to LOCK IN
I swear its not a bad thing, but its like you can be SO Emotional to the point where I'm like Oh No Not Again
Happy birthday
I love this movie!!
happy birthday 🎉
This movie was so good when it first came out
Happy birthday MJ love watching your reactions I hope you have a blessed day. When ever you get the chance could you react to “American skin” thanks 💙
I sob every time I watch this movie😭😩
His is my comfort movie!!!!
Happy Birthday MJ
Malcolm X said: "Its not a case of being good or bad blacks and whites, its a case of being good or bad human beings." Btw, Malcolm X said "Rigorous self defense, by any means necessary." He wasnt for pro active violence but retaliatory violence for the purpose of self defense.
*The raw emotion this movie made you feel for your people was powerful to see. It really gets your blood boiling doesn't it? There is a Movie called Battle for Haditha, that gets me feeling anger in the EXACT same way! its a movie about the USMC in a village in my country Afghanistan murdering my people, just regular villagers like elders and children! the worst part is its a true story. those bastards were never charged...... just like the end of this movie. They only ever got dishonorably discharged from service...* it was post 9/11 they invaded us because they thought Osama was there, but it was Pakistan IT WAS ALLLLLLLLWAYYYYSSSS PAKISTAN!!!!!!! 😒😒😒😒
Thug Life! Baby!
I've been trying to find this movie I'm glad I know the name of it now it's so sad people has to go through this just because the color of their skin
not skin related at all, Indian Americans aren't affected and many of them are as dark as black people
You should watch black and blue
Happy 22nd birthday MJ🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I just watched this movie it’s great!
The fact that he still opened the car door for her even when they were trying to run away is top notch green flag
PLEASE WATCH THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER OR BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA
Such a good and powerful movie!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
