Great footage despite the wind! Nice to see both locos in action. I particularly enjoyed watching the double heading. I'll have to head over to South Shields at some point to see Adeila in steam.
Thanks very much! Yeah it’s a shame I went on a windy day 😂! They normally do double heading all the time when they have two engines out. Yeah you definitely will. She is the main locomotive in service at the moment as Mountaineer is away for an overhaul and re paint. I believe Mountaineer is getting her old stickers back on 😃
Thanks very much. It’s got on the website beside FCNdelM Prairie. Here is the link if you want to read more about her. www.lakeshorerailroad.co.uk/adiela
Since the age of 5 I have always wanted to operate Mountaineer, that loco is just beautiful and sounds great. I dont like Adeila though as her drive wheels are just far to small so she sounds like shes going way faster than she is plus her whistle isnt as nice as mountaineers in my oppinion. It would be great to see this route extended further into the marine park or better still all the way up to the cannon and back.. if only dreams came true
I’ve sat in both engines and blew both their whistles but never got to drive them. I think Adiela looks quite good to be honest. Also you will want to pop down over Easter. Mountaineer has all her old stickers back on and she has just come out of an overhaul so she will be lovely and clean! I think there has been talk of a route extension but not sure if it will ever happen
@@SpikesSteam Oh lucky you, my chance to blow the whistles might come one day lol. I will be down over the Easter holidays as I cant wait to see the old livery. I honestly dont think an extension will be done anytime soon but if it was done and it was a fairly long extension it could possibly bring other enthusiasts with locos to South Shields.. would be great to have a variety of locos visiting year round
@@andrew2431 I can confirm Mountaineer is now back on the tracks 😃🚂 I’ve been down to see her tonight. Got to film some super rare footage! This is the best she has ever looked since brand new. Definitely get yourself down on the Easter weekend! I will possibly be down on a two train day
Wow, that double header was so impressive. Thank you for sharing.
Yeah they do double headers a lot when they have two trains out. No problem!

Hi thanks very much 😃🚂 yeah it’s definitely worth a visit

Out of curiosity, what do the acronyms FCNdelM mean?
