Just ran across this! Cake in the bread machine, who would have thought! I’ll have to try this one day, looks so intriguing. I don’t have cake much, but when I do I’m a “no frosting” person. So looks great to me! Can a white or yellow cake be made? That’s my preference when I have some. Wonderful Robyn! Thank you so much! 🌷🥰🇺🇸
Hi Cynthia! I'm so glad you like this idea! It’s a fun thing to make in your bread machine, and is especially handy when it’s hot out and you don’t want to heat up the house! Yes, you can definitely also make a white or yellow cake, too. I’ll have to dig through my recipes to find that, but it works great and is easy, too! Thanks for watching my old videos :)
Sorry it was a bit dry for you. Yes, more water or even turn off your bread machine a little before time is up to let it bake for a little less time. Thank you for trying this recipe! I think it’s a fun thing to do with your bread machine!
Can you use the same quantity amounts in a one paddle bread machine? This recipe looks really good and I can’t wait to try it! I just took out your banana bread recipe for the bread machine (it’s a favorite❤) I mix it all up in a bowl so I can remove the paddle and then I just put it on bake only. I’ll let you know when I make this cake😃
Hi Robin! Yes, I have been making this recipe in my old bread machine with a single paddle for years, it is a 2 lb capacity bread machine, so as long as it's not a small 1 or 1.5 only capacity bread machine, it should work using your cake setting. If all else fails and it's not cooked enough in the middle, press bake and add a little more time to the baking. Thanks for your question Robin!
@@RobynOnTheFarmThanks!❤ I have a chocolate Bundt cake recipe that I make sometimes that has chocolate chips stirred into it like like your cake and I am with you, you don’t need frosting on it, just a little powdered sugar sprinkled on top to make it look pretty. It’s also good with a squirt of whipped cream 😃
@@Robin7-26 Yes! I was wishing I had some fresh strawberries and whipped cream when I was eating it! Still good by itself, but that would put it to the next level! The chocolate chips stirred in add a lot.
Thanks for the recipe! I just got into bread making because I would rather just make it myself instead of there being like 45 ingredients in bread lol Also I love the powdered sugar shaker thing, I never thought of that but I am going to copy that C:
I feel the same! I don't want any of that extra stuff they put in there, plus it's fun to make your own at home! Not to mention homemade always tastes better. Thank you so much for watching and being here!! I'm so glad you're going to copy the powdered sugar shaker--it's fun to use, too!
I have the unsweetened cocoa so i can make it, tomorrow, family will like it, thank you Robyn!!!
Awesome! I’m so glad you’re going to try it. It’s pretty cool to be able to make it in the bread machine. I hope your family likes it!
@@RobynOnTheFarm never made a cake in the breadmaker, so can't wait to try

I can hardly wait to try it.
It is really good and a fun and different thing to make in the bread machine!
Looks very good! Nice to set it and forget it.
Thanks Liza! Well, it's not the prettiest but it sure is good, especially considering how easy it is!
I just made it. And for me it was a bit on dry side. But I think it can be solved by adding a bit more water. Definitely has potential.
