I agree with a lot of what you said! While I still love the music freaks and Rozyclozy and have nothing but respect for the time and effort that she puts in this I do want to add a critique. I noticed that romance and ships are what are getting in the way of the actual plot.The Plot is so interesting in my opinion about Jake becoming a singer and maybe standing up to his friends.But ships are what is ruining it.While I have nothing against romance in stories or shipping.However I do think it becomes a promblem when your story already has an interesting plot then it’s ignored by romance and “OMG LANDER!” Or “OMG jAilEy!!”.I think the fandom has more of this issue than the series however consider that a lot of gifts people make of it are mainly about romance and ships and who’s gonna get with who.I really enjoy the friendship that the music gang has but I wish I could see more of their friendship and development rather then having JAilEy and Lander shoved at my face. Again it’s my opinion! I don’t mind shipping or romance but if it gets in the way of the actual plot then it becomes a promblem!
This. The plot itself hasn't really progressed since episode one, and if we look at another music club story (I'm going to use k-on as an example) in 5 episodes the music club members of k-on managed to already have a concert. we've also never really seen the music club members practice we've only seen the end. it's kinda just turned into a typical romance school Gacha story with very pretty animation( don't get me wrong I love the visuals!)Every music club member has a crush on someone (except for Hailey lol). IDK I just hope that episode 6 is more music-club focused instead of romance focused :P.
I do want to point out that though I think the kiss scene is my favourite scene in terms of writing and execution, I hate how the set up to that point is so generic. And thats actually my main issue with the series on hold and you managed to convey that quite well

Is it just me or is Luke not a very interesting character? A lot of people say Lander is the best ship in gacha since both characters don’t have being MLM as their personality, but I feel like that only applies to Zander. Zander has a tough backstory with his biological father, is Hailey’s step sibling, and used to heavily dislike Jake. But I can’t name anything about Luke that’s not about Zander. Luke’s episode was about his crush on Zander, his character is about Zander. In the backstory with hailey we just see him having a crush on Zander. I hope Rosy can make him have relations with other characters. Maybe he can be friends with Sadie, that’s something I want to see since everyone’s scared of her, so showing Luke being kind will match his personality traits of being an ethereal character (shown in the wiki.) He has a lot of potential and one of my favorite designs so I wish rosy just didn’t make all his lines about Zander I can’t believe I forgot Stacy. She was just there to make lander more dramatic. I hope in the finale luke apologizes and becomes friends with her. I don’t like Zander being jealous; I know it’s about his backstory but I see jealous bf/gf tropes all the time. I think his parents are absent from him life one way or another; seeing as he's also been shown to be "responsible" or something in episode 6, maybe he had to take care of himself and his siblings which made him mature earlier. I don't know man, i definitely agree with you, every episode focused on a character says something about their backstory; Sean's parents argue often, usually not noticing him or his problems. He has family issues. Hailey has stage fright and could be described as introverted because of her past on stage. Zander would hear his parents argue oftentimes when he was really young, and his mom married someone else. He still doesn't call his step dad "dad" Milly used to be bullied, giving her anger issues and she grew up always trying to fight back so she doesn't experience bullying again Daisy struggles with strict mother's forcing her to commit to a lot of pressuring activities, forcing her to be perfect Whilst Luke's episode is just about crushing on Zander It feels cheap
While I do like the Music Freak (It's pretty good in the gacha community) I agree that it is.. very.. generic. I'm not sure how interested someone would be in the Music freaks if they're outside of the gacha community. Like you said, it's very predictable and to me some characters aren't that greatest. (I really hope Stacy gets more and that teacher.. ehh.. I found her annoying.) It just needs better writing for characters and for the story. Maybe have them do stuff outside the school? Character development maybe as they all have a bit of a setup. I will admit Lander is a good ship. But it has faults. The beginning of the crush setup is really cliche. And it shouldn't have taken over the plot so early. Edit: Here's what I think could help. I look at the music freak as a Tv show so here's how I put it Have outside activity that aren't school or music related. This could tell us more of the character. If it's just the school setting it can be bland and the story could get stale Elliot, Stacey and the Sadie (I forget her name) should be used. If they were just used for a scenario (Milly's problem and being Zander problem) and that it. They are basically useless. Maybe learn more about them. I'm interested in Sadie and Stacy. Epically after the whole crush thing with Luke Character Development. Not all characters need this but some do. The teacher should get grow as a character. I would like to see a focus episode on her where she grows more stern. She can keep her kind personality but she doesn't let students take control. Zander could grow into a more trusting person. Like he hurts of Luke's friend outside of the music club which upsets Luke. (Like he thinks Luke is falling for the person so he tells them off. I need to think about a better scenery sorry. I just think he jumps to conclusion which is a good flaw. btw) Luke then lectures Zander on how he's too harsh on other people. Zander then realize he should soften up. He's still hard headed but, he acts kinder to stranger. His tone softens up when he talks to people Improve characters. Well, I think my other comments say this but, I think learning more about characters will be helpful. We'll explore character's personalities, flaws, past. They can be their own character. I think Hailey and Liam suffers the most out of this. Every time she's with Jake, I feel she's only being used as a love interest and conflict with Daisey and her. I think we should see Hailey's flaws and have her do stuff without. Liam is just being used as the Stacy's mom joke Give us a reason why the bullies bully. We get no reason why they like mocking the music freak. If we knew, we could learn about them. Now, not everyone should have a hidden personality for they're going like that. I think Liam is probably the best for it. I think lettuce boy is too easy and Drew doesn't fit it. Have Jake spent more time with his bully friends. Look, Jake has been friends with them for awhile. They deserve screen time This also helps explore all the bullies. Have Jake spent time at Drew's house or Lettuce boy's place. It gives us an in sight. I don't want all the focus to be on the club. These 5 deserve development and not some cliché story given to them And finally, I feel like the plot is an overused story. It's a really popular storyline Rosy is using, which is kind of sad to me. Rosy has made more original stories (My drawing comes to life) That was a good movie despite some of the flaw. To fix this, the only thing I can think of is Rosy taking a break and maybe brainstorming some ideas. Because if I were being honest, it really isn't different from most gacha sersies/movies with the clichés and storylines. I (Romance also gets in the way of the plot. Lander should have happened later as it got in the way of Jake's story. But honestly, I'm not sure if this is really a big deal right now) If I were being honest, I feel like the music freak suffers from one dimensional characters and overused plotlines. (Which is why I didn't watch the music freaks until June) Now granted, this is still early in the sersies but, it really does need some original storylines and improvement on characters. And if gets that, I feel that the music freak really deserve the award of one of the greatest gacha sersies out there. But, honestly there's a fandom who enjoy what's going on, (Well.. kind of. There's a lot shipping. I don't really see anyone talk about the plot) I don't think my words are going to change anything but hey this was fun writing

I really appreciate how you said the Music Freaks wasn't perfect, unlike other people claiming that the Music Freaks is straight up "horrible". I can completely agree with a major selection of what you said in this video as well, especially on how the repetition of romantic relationships.
I agreed with a lot of points in this video, and thanks for sharing your opinion in a respectful manner! TMF is far from being perfect, but that's okay, since no series can be perfect. Although it is better than most gacha series' I've seen, there's so much potential that I felt was wasted at times, it made me kinda sad. It does take a lot of time to come up with an amazing story, so props to Rosy for bringing that together well, but I just hope the story doesn't end or develop in that cliche kind of way that many gacha stories end up being in the end. And that not everything is focused on romance, of course.
In Rosy's discord when someone posts a Boy with Bad Luck fanart, many people don't even know why it's there or who the characters are. It's so sad. Boy with Bad Luck was a series I was obsessed with back then. it's sad that many of her fans don't even know it existed. and don't even get me started on her drarry series! she even unlisted it, so now her never fans don't know of it at all! And don't even get me started on Zander. He used to be a cool character who i kinda admired for being so nonchalant and standing up for himself. now i'm uncomfortable when people draw him as a cat or a "bottom" like wtf. it's just tsundere uwu zander now and not what he used to be
I hope that Rosy is doing this on purpose so there can be a big twist we don't see coming, that could be what she's going for. However I do agree with the rest of your points. I really want to see more of Hailey, I feel like she's just there to be another simp for Jake. She's the club president, she should have a bigger role. I hope later we get more of Hailey.

I especially liked Hailey and Jake's moment last episode Edit: I still hope to see a little more but overall with the last episodes that have came out I'm pretty happy with the character insight
1:03 I agree with this to an extent, like say a shy person probably isn’t gonna wear a crop top or anything like that but the character design doesn’t have to match up to there personality. (Not hating just my opinion) But then again having patches of microphones and music notes would be a good touch in the rendering.

I love this serise but I have some criticism towards the show aswell 1. Favoritism, this is obvious in tmf there's are plenty of scenes souly for fan service, ep.3,4,5 main purpose was for the fans, I don't mean they weren't enjoyable heck ep.3 is my favorite in the whole serise but its definitely plays into Favoritism. Also the amount of ship moments are ridiculous 2. It doesn't show Jake getting closer to the club, expect from their orginal music video, we only got outside intell on how Jake grew close to the band, nothing else expect when he helps them during the episodes, honestly it would be fine to have one episode of them just hanging out, it would explain how the other kids treat them, how they became friends, and explore more about the characters 3. Bland characters, as much as I love the charaters they can fall into being bland, mostly Henry, Liam, Lia and Zoey, Stacy, and even Daisy. I'd love to them get more development. And even some of the main characters can fall into this such as Luke, Milly, and Sean. 4. Lack of charaters development. Now the charaters stay the exact same through out the serise so far, but when they do get charater development its pretty pointless. This is made apparent in ep.3 with Milly and Jake, where at then end they seem to be getting closer kinda like a sibling relationship, but it only last for a little bit only making a reference in the begining of ep. 4. After that Milly treats Jake the same way she did early in the serise. I hope this gets improved upon more in the serise
In my opinion, I really think Rosy should stop revolving most of the series around romantic relationships - though I agree her series is more well-executed than the entirety of the community, it still bears a resemblance to some parts. For example, the Jander ship portrayed the "enemies to lovers" stereotype. I know there were only hints of it and that it's not actually canon but episode 2 was quite generic in terms of the Gacha trope.
The only relationship these days in TMF is Lander that we see so there’s not that much romance. And it’s not rosy’s fault, Jander wouldn’t be a thing without shippers.

I agree with all your points, but I want to add that, Drew, Liam, and Henry are the antagonists of the show, mainly Drew, I feel like these three characters are a bit flat. We don't know why they bully the music club, we don't know why they are enemies, what happened to them?? I think these questions need to be anwsered in order to make well rounded antagonists, because in all honesty, Jake's friends could make a lot of conflict for Jake and the music club, even in the romance aspect of the show as well. I think Drew sufferes from it the most, because Rosyclozy has included so much information on him, like his wealthy background, zoey using him for money, zoey is cheating on him, etc. Why include this stuff on Drew? So far I can't say its for no reason, but I can it can't be just random facts and writing.
Yeah Rozy focused way too much on the generic music cuts that last for way too long in every episode and we don't get to know more on the characters or if we do it feels a bit rushed.
Thank you for bringing up the story because the problem I have with the series being so predictable is that... even the fans know how it’s going to go near the end. Jake gets rejected by Daisy and is outed to the club because he originally joined to impress daisy. They kick him out, his popular friends tell the club that Jake liked it in the club, they bring him back and finally have a concert. Hopefully Rosy can do something unexpected with the series because almost all of us know the coming story beats, like Hailey and Jake’s future romance, Sean and Daisy getting together making Jake sad, falls in love with Hailey. Jake abandoning his popular friends or them backstabbing him. Really hope they do something really unexpected.
I have a trick with when I write my characters, I will make them and over time and add to them so there's more depth, and make sure when I describe them it doesn't describe a specific stereotype (so that they're actually, y'know, interesting). Also another trick is making sure I can't describe them with only one sentence or joke, there's always more to it, but I've found with The Music Freaks they're all basically walking stereotypes were their depth is a part of the stereotype. Eg. Hailey is the girl that gets bullied, insults back (with just assumptions that might not even be accurate) and has some sort of anxiety (idk i just found her kinda plain) Now don't mind me as I play with my children- I mean OCs because I can
I agree although I do think music freaks is alright it don't think its great yes I like the animation how they move and stuff but other stuff is pretty iffy. 1. Music is the main thing is pretty mutch bound on music and I may have a little biased considering I'm not a big fan of pop but the music is not great especially the lyrics but there at leaste span from meh or alright and like you said there is not alot of emotion involved into it. 2. The voice acting is also I really don't wanna say this but bland and lifeless :/ . The conversations just feel dead and forced and I get they are not perfessionals but its just really detracts from the show. 3. And finally the characters there pretty mutch all clishe and just boring to watch or even annoying I feel like the only charecter I'm mildly interested in is Zoe who all thought is the typical blond bully when Jake tried to black male her about cheating and she gets quite defensive but no because of the money (mainly at leaste) but cause of some other reason that interested me but she is most likely just gonna get punished in the end cause like i said blond bully cliche but i early could not care less about the character's witch is quite detrimental for a series So how would I change it? I would try and add more music genres like covers even or just more power to the songs to make you acctually care. Like personally drums migee singing creep to Zander could have hit my in the heart like a nuke. For voice acting I just want more expressing and less pausing cause sometimes it just feels like text to speech. And finally for character's I personally would have made Jake more of a narcissist at the beginning of show and really only wants to join to impress rose but slowly becomes a better person while helping the others with you could argue is whats basically happening right now but I feel like the way Jake helps the charecters is pretty super facial a nd just dose one random act of kindness and then that development somehow but I want him to have acctual conversations with thim about there life or philosophies and stuff just make both of the characters have stronger bonds rather then the bare bones ones they have now and mabey everybody dose not have to fall in love ya know :/ Well thats just my take feel free to disagree with me tho.

I think ships & love are gonna ruin the show and here’s why: the amount of ships that in this series is crazy! Jaliey, lander, millot, I don’t know what Sean X Daisy would be, even random ships:Drew & Haliey(and Jake) other ships like Zoey X Lia & Henriam. Those ships are fine, great even but I don’t wanna be that guy that says “oh love is gonna take away from the story” although it actually might. Henriam has no real impact on the story. Side plots like Daisy, her 2 moms, and her feelings of having to be perfect and wanting a change in scenery is actually such a super relatable and adorable side plot that makes sense(although to me Daisy is more of a plot driver) but I can forgive her for there side plot. Most of the side plots don’t really do much to the plot but character development. The hints at ships are cute but I think instead of learning about Luke and Zander which has been done, finish. We need character development for these 4 people:Zoey,Jake,Luke, &Stacy. Why does Zoey act so mean to Milly and people in general? Why does Stacy act clumsy around people? Does she like attention? If so,why? Does she lack attention or smth? For Jake: he’s so..dry but in a different way. All we know is he likes singing but he was shamed for it by his classmates so he bullies others for acceptance. My take is Jake represents:Acceptance. He does things to be accepted by others. He wants to fit the mold people forced him in. If so, I need that build up on more. Luke: Yes he needs his own section. - the dude is so dry all he is is:perfect “redhead”, charming, soft spoken at times, gay and loves his boyfriend as much as he loves his drums. He can sing and (I think top of his class). - he’s a Marty sue. You can’t deny it either. Luke’s a Marty Sue(a Marty sue or Mary Sue is a perfect person. No flaws, everyone loves him bc why would we hate him?basically:perfect in every way) and that really sums up Luke. We know nothing about him. He’s a 1 dimensional character that we know nothing about. I don’t know if Luke is supposed to be mysterious or something but I feel like learning a bit about Luke could do the series some good. Why does he not talk about his family? Did something happen with them? If not, where are they now? Atleast a base about Luke’s Life bc let’s be real when you her Luke from TMF, you either think “Oh! The hot one” or “Oh!Zander’s Boyfriend” one of those 2. Welp! That’s my little rant! I don’t hate Rosy! I adore the show actually I just think side plots & lack of character development from important characters are ruining the show and the show itself is so amazing even tho it feels like a sequel to High School Musical:The Musical:The Series, I still adore it

i understand how you can kinda tell whats gonna happen and stuff and like that how its going to most likely end etc. Now earlier today I was thinking "what if Luke didn't like Zander how would everything turn out" but the thing is if it didn't the whole plot would be stretched into about 4 episodes and I think Rosy's goal for this series is to not make it too long and like shes just dragging it along. The plot for each episode is fine in my opinion and repeating it with a new character can be annoying sometimes but then again its gacha, not an actual Tv show or something. The character designs are also okay in my opinion, in most series u can tell who the person is just by there looks and to me it kinda just gives away the oc completely i think its better if you would learn more about the character as you go ling through the plot. I think this series definitely is not the best series in gacha club. I think in gacha club there could be series with a better story or even better everything then music freaks even if it's not animated that we don't know about. I think tmf is pretty overrated and a lot of people only like it bc they want to be trendy and watch the series that are trending like tmf bc people might like the animation and editing. I THINK TMF IS SOOO GOOD like it's amazing i actually really like it but the story has flaws that people need to realize before calling something perfect.
I'd say that rosy has imrpouved her writing, you could tell by whatching the episodes. Tho I agree some fans need to see the flaws. No series is perfect. And the music freaks is not a perfect story.
this was a really well made video!! im just gonna dump my opinion here, i dont like the way they antagonize and portray stacy. stacy is not a bad character, but the way shes seen to "steal luke" isnt completely realistic, adding on how jealous zander can be. for example, when luke helps stacy with her books, zander is kinda overeating. also, i dont like how stacy confesses to luke and then kisses him. yeah, its ok to confess, but you dont know if the person you like likes you back, so you cant just kiss them on purpose, thats teaching kids that its ok to push boundaries. all and all this series i believe isnt bad and wth why did i write sm SORRY edit: i forgot to talk about jake, his character isnt bad, but if he didnt want to be friends with his "gang" (i forgot their names) cant he just leave? why does he have to prove anything to them?
No No. You're right. I do think Zander overreacting is a flaw (Although kind of overdone) but, yea you're right. The confession setup wasn't that good with how Stacy is mad out to be, and the kissing between Stacy and Luke, I will admit, I think is fine but I can see you're point of you. Yes I agree I think the animation and editing is really good but the story and plot is just kind of..mah compare to the popular alpha mini movie's ext it seems amazing but if we dont compare it to that, then its just like another Disney love music teen story. No hate tho😊
just saying- i thought the danganronpa girl example was a bully that had a dark past and i could tell and luke and sean are nice characxters by looks so im just saying for me, tmf character's characteristics are easier to tell but it depends. people just have different opinions on what look describes a character sometimes (no hate :>)
And also in the music freaks theres not alot of goal like in a series there has to be some type of goal like i want to be greatest and smartest student or like i want to be really powerful or like i want to achive this but i dont really see alot in music freaks its just the characters finding there love and i know they're goal is about winning the competition but a little more flavour could be added

just because it takes quite a while and i mean A WHILE for rosy to release a tmf episode doesn't mean she cancelled the series,episode 6 is going to be a very long episode so of course it's gonna be a while till it drops,don't worry,rosy has said time and time again that she's not to going to stop making tmf episodes,she even stated that the series will be 8 epsiodes and that she might possibly even make a season 2 of the series{tho she's not sure if she should do a season 2 yet}so tmf is far from being cancelled,you,me and everything else in the tmf fandom just has to be patient,that's all EDIT:{sorry if i came off as rude}

Agreed with the cliche stuff. I can already assume what’s going to happen in season two. The new guy Max has a band and they are missing one member so just like in season one with drew Jake will have to choose between max’s group or the music freaks

The idea is that you should be able to tell something about the character based on their design alone, it doesn't have to be personality it could be backstory or lifestyle, if you are not doing that you probably should do it to subvert expectations.
Even if you don't show personality in an OC, it shouldn't be bland, thats just lazy, lile really really lazy. Plus the songs pretty much all sound the same soooo....

A lot of people in the fandom praise music freaks and from what I’ve seen not many people like the creator of this video criticizes music freaks. So many people in the fandom thinks the series is perfect when ofc it’s not that’s why this video was made.

I agree with a lot of what you said! While I still love the music freaks and Rozyclozy and have nothing but respect for the time and effort that she puts in this I do want to add a critique.
I noticed that romance and ships are what are getting in the way of the actual plot.The Plot is so interesting in my opinion about Jake becoming a singer and maybe standing up to his friends.But ships are what is ruining it.While I have nothing against romance in stories or shipping.However I do think it becomes a promblem when your story already has an interesting plot then it’s ignored by romance and “OMG LANDER!” Or “OMG jAilEy!!”.I think the fandom has more of this issue than the series however consider that a lot of gifts people make of it are mainly about romance and ships and who’s gonna get with who.I really enjoy the friendship that the music gang has but I wish I could see more of their friendship and development rather then having JAilEy and Lander shoved at my face.
Again it’s my opinion! I don’t mind shipping or romance but if it gets in the way of the actual plot then it becomes a promblem!

This. The plot itself hasn't really progressed since episode one, and if we look at another music club story (I'm going to use k-on as an example) in 5 episodes the music club members of k-on managed to already have a concert. we've also never really seen the music club members practice we've only seen the end. it's kinda just turned into a typical romance school Gacha story with very pretty animation( don't get me wrong I love the visuals!)Every music club member has a crush on someone (except for Hailey lol). IDK I just hope that episode 6 is more music-club focused instead of romance focused :P.

Is it just me or is Luke not a very interesting character? A lot of people say Lander is the best ship in gacha since both characters don’t have being MLM as their personality, but I feel like that only applies to Zander. Zander has a tough backstory with his biological father, is Hailey’s step sibling, and used to heavily dislike Jake. But I can’t name anything about Luke that’s not about Zander. Luke’s episode was about his crush on Zander, his character is about Zander. In the backstory with hailey we just see him having a crush on Zander.
I hope Rosy can make him have relations with other characters. Maybe he can be friends with Sadie, that’s something I want to see since everyone’s scared of her, so showing Luke being kind will match his personality traits of being an ethereal character (shown in the wiki.) He has a lot of potential and one of my favorite designs so I wish rosy just didn’t make all his lines about Zander
I can’t believe I forgot Stacy. She was just there to make lander more dramatic. I hope in the finale luke apologizes and becomes friends with her. I don’t like Zander being jealous; I know it’s about his backstory but I see jealous bf/gf tropes all the time. It would be interesting if Stacy became friends with both of them at the end after getting over her crush on Luke.

I think his parents are absent from him life one way or another; seeing as he's also been shown to be "responsible" or something in episode 6, maybe he had to take care of himself and his siblings which made him mature earlier. I don't know man, i definitely agree with you, every episode focused on a character says something about their backstory;
Sean's parents argue often, usually not noticing him or his problems. He has family issues.
Hailey has stage fright and could be described as introverted because of her past on stage.
Zander would hear his parents argue oftentimes when he was really young, and his mom married someone else. He still doesn't call his step dad "dad"
Milly used to be bullied, giving her anger issues and she grew up always trying to fight back so she doesn't experience bullying again
Daisy struggles with strict mother's forcing her to commit to a lot of pressuring activities, forcing her to be perfect
Whilst Luke's episode is just about crushing on Zander

While I do like the Music Freak (It's pretty good in the gacha community) I agree that it is.. very.. generic. I'm not sure how interested someone would be in the Music freaks if they're outside of the gacha community. Like you said, it's very predictable and to me some characters aren't that greatest. (I really hope Stacy gets more and that teacher.. ehh.. I found her annoying.) It just needs better writing for characters and for the story. Maybe have them do stuff outside the school? Character development maybe as they all have a bit of a setup.
I will admit Lander is a good ship. But it has faults. The beginning of the crush setup is really cliche. And it shouldn't have taken over the plot so early.
Edit: Here's what I think could help. I look at the music freak as a Tv show so here's how I put it
Have outside activity that aren't school or music related. This could tell us more of the character. If it's just the school setting it can be bland and the story could get stale
Elliot, Stacey and the Sadie (I forget her name) should be used. If they were just used for a scenario (Milly's problem and being Zander problem) and that it. They are basically useless. Maybe learn more about them. I'm interested in Sadie and Stacy. Epically after the whole crush thing with Luke
Character Development. Not all characters need this but some do. The teacher should get grow as a character. I would like to see a focus episode on her where she grows more stern. She can keep her kind personality but she doesn't let students take control. Zander could grow into a more trusting person. Like he hurts of Luke's friend outside of the music club which upsets Luke. (Like he thinks Luke is falling for the person so he tells them off. I need to think about a better scenery sorry. I just think he jumps to conclusion which is a good flaw. btw) Luke then lectures Zander on how he's too harsh on other people. Zander then realize he should soften up. He's still hard headed but, he acts kinder to stranger. His tone softens up when he talks to people
Improve characters. Well, I think my other comments say this but, I think learning more about characters will be helpful. We'll explore character's personalities, flaws, past. They can be their own character. I think Hailey and Liam suffers the most out of this. Every time she's with Jake, I feel she's only being used as a love interest and conflict with Daisey and her. I think we should see Hailey's flaws and have her do stuff without. Liam is just being used as the Stacy's mom joke
Give us a reason why the bullies bully. We get no reason why they like mocking the music freak. If we knew, we could learn about them. Now, not everyone should have a hidden personality for they're going like that. I think Liam is probably the best for it. I think lettuce boy is too easy and Drew doesn't fit it.
Have Jake spent more time with his bully friends. Look, Jake has been friends with them for awhile. They deserve screen time This also helps explore all the bullies. Have Jake spent time at Drew's house or Lettuce boy's place. It gives us an in sight. I don't want all the focus to be on the club. These 5 deserve development and not some cliché story given to them
And finally, I feel like the plot is an overused story. It's a really popular storyline Rosy is using, which is kind of sad to me. Rosy has made more original stories (My drawing comes to life) That was a good movie despite some of the flaw. To fix this, the only thing I can think of is Rosy taking a break and maybe brainstorming some ideas. Because if I were being honest, it really isn't different from most gacha sersies/movies with the clichés and storylines. I

If I were being honest, I feel like the music freak suffers from one dimensional characters and overused plotlines. (Which is why I didn't watch the music freaks until June) Now granted, this is still early in the sersies but, it really does need some original storylines and improvement on characters. And if gets that, I feel that the music freak really deserve the award of one of the greatest gacha sersies out there. But, honestly there's a fandom who enjoy what's going on, (Well.. kind of. There's a lot shipping. I don't really see anyone talk about the plot) I don't think my words are going to change anything but hey this was fun writing

I agreed with a lot of points in this video, and thanks for sharing your opinion in a respectful manner! TMF is far from being perfect, but that's okay, since no series can be perfect. Although it is better than most gacha series' I've seen, there's so much potential that I felt was wasted at times, it made me kinda sad. It does take a lot of time to come up with an amazing story, so props to Rosy for bringing that together well, but I just hope the story doesn't end or develop in that cliche kind of way that many gacha stories end up being in the end. And that not everything is focused on romance, of course.
In Rosy's discord when someone posts a Boy with Bad Luck fanart, many people don't even know why it's there or who the characters are. It's so sad. Boy with Bad Luck was a series I was obsessed with back then. it's sad that many of her fans don't even know it existed. and don't even get me started on her drarry series! she even unlisted it, so now her never fans don't know of it at all!
And don't even get me started on Zander. He used to be a cool character who i kinda admired for being so nonchalant and standing up for himself. now i'm uncomfortable when people draw him as a cat or a "bottom" like wtf. it's just tsundere uwu zander now and not what he used to be
I hope that Rosy is doing this on purpose so there can be a big twist we don't see coming, that could be what she's going for. However I do agree with the rest of your points. I really want to see more of Hailey, I feel like she's just there to be another simp for Jake. She's the club president, she should have a bigger role. I hope later we get more of Hailey.

I agree with this to an extent, like say a shy person probably isn’t gonna wear a crop top or anything like that but the character design doesn’t have to match up to there personality. (Not hating just my opinion) But then again having patches of microphones and music notes would be a good touch in the rendering.

I love this serise but I have some criticism towards the show aswell
1. Favoritism, this is obvious in tmf there's are plenty of scenes souly for fan service, ep.3,4,5 main purpose was for the fans, I don't mean they weren't enjoyable heck ep.3 is my favorite in the whole serise but its definitely plays into Favoritism. Also the amount of ship moments are ridiculous
2. It doesn't show Jake getting closer to the club, expect from their orginal music video, we only got outside intell on how Jake grew close to the band, nothing else expect when he helps them during the episodes, honestly it would be fine to have one episode of them just hanging out, it would explain how the other kids treat them, how they became friends, and explore more about the characters
3. Bland characters, as much as I love the charaters they can fall into being bland, mostly Henry, Liam, Lia and Zoey, Stacy, and even Daisy. I'd love to them get more development. And even some of the main characters can fall into this such as Luke, Milly, and Sean.
4. Lack of charaters development. Now the charaters stay the exact same through out the serise so far, but when they do get charater development its pretty pointless. This is made apparent in ep.3 with Milly and Jake, where at then end they seem to be getting closer kinda like a sibling relationship, but it only last for a little bit only making a reference in the begining of ep. 4. After that Milly treats Jake the same way she did early in the serise. I hope this gets improved upon more in the serise

In my opinion, I really think Rosy should stop revolving most of the series around romantic relationships - though I agree her series is more well-executed than the entirety of the community, it still bears a resemblance to some parts.
For example, the Jander ship portrayed the "enemies to lovers" stereotype. I know there were only hints of it and that it's not actually canon but episode 2 was quite generic in terms of the Gacha trope.
The only relationship these days in TMF is Lander that we see so there’s not that much romance. And it’s not rosy’s fault, Jander wouldn’t be a thing without shippers.

I agree with all your points, but I want to add that, Drew, Liam, and Henry are the antagonists of the show, mainly Drew, I feel like these three characters are a bit flat.
We don't know why they bully the music club, we don't know why they are enemies, what happened to them??
I think these questions need to be anwsered in order to make well rounded antagonists, because in all honesty, Jake's friends could make a lot of conflict for Jake and the music club, even in the romance aspect of the show as well.
I think Drew sufferes from it the most, because Rosyclozy has included so much information on him, like his wealthy background, zoey using him for money, zoey is cheating on him, etc. Why include this stuff on Drew? So far I can't say its for no reason, but I can it can't be just random facts and writing.
Yeah Rozy focused way too much on the generic music cuts that last for way too long in every episode and we don't get to know more on the characters or if we do it feels a bit rushed.

Thank you for bringing up the story because the problem I have with the series being so predictable is that... even the fans know how it’s going to go near the end.
Jake gets rejected by Daisy and is outed to the club because he originally joined to impress daisy. They kick him out, his popular friends tell the club that Jake liked it in the club, they bring him back and finally have a concert. Hopefully Rosy can do something unexpected with the series because almost all of us know the coming story beats, like Hailey and Jake’s future romance, Sean and Daisy getting together making Jake sad, falls in love with Hailey. Jake abandoning his popular friends or them backstabbing him. Really hope they do something really unexpected.

I have a trick with when I write my characters, I will make them and over time and add to them so there's more depth, and make sure when I describe them it doesn't describe a specific stereotype (so that they're actually, y'know, interesting).
Also another trick is making sure I can't describe them with only one sentence or joke, there's always more to it, but I've found with The Music Freaks they're all basically walking stereotypes were their depth is a part of the stereotype. Eg. Hailey is the girl that gets bullied, insults back (with just assumptions that might not even be accurate) and has some sort of anxiety (idk i just found her kinda plain)

I agree although I do think music freaks is alright it don't think its great yes I like the animation how they move and stuff but other stuff is pretty iffy.
1. Music is the main thing is pretty mutch bound on music and I may have a little biased considering I'm not a big fan of pop but the music is not great especially the lyrics but there at leaste span from meh or alright and like you said there is not alot of emotion involved into it.
2. The voice acting is also I really don't wanna say this but bland and lifeless :/ . The conversations just feel dead and forced and I get they are not perfessionals but its just really detracts from the show.
3. And finally the characters there pretty mutch all clishe and just boring to watch or even annoying I feel like the only charecter I'm mildly interested in is Zoe who all thought is the typical blond bully when Jake tried to black male her about cheating and she gets quite defensive but no because of the money (mainly at leaste) but cause of some other reason that interested me but she is most likely just gonna get punished in the end cause like i said blond bully cliche but i early could not care less about the character's witch is quite detrimental for a series

I would try and add more music genres like covers even or just more power to the songs to make you acctually care. Like personally drums migee singing creep to Zander could have hit my in the heart like a nuke.
For voice acting I just want more expressing and less pausing cause sometimes it just feels like text to speech.
And finally for character's I personally would have made Jake more of a narcissist at the beginning of show and really only wants to join to impress rose but slowly becomes a better person while helping the others with you could argue is whats basically happening right now but I feel like the way Jake helps the charecters is pretty super facial a nd just dose one random act of kindness and then that development somehow but I want him to have acctual conversations with thim about there life or philosophies and stuff just make both of the characters have stronger bonds rather then the bare bones ones they have now and mabey everybody dose not have to fall in love ya know :/

I think ships & love are gonna ruin the show and here’s why:
the amount of ships that in this series is crazy! Jaliey, lander, millot, I don’t know what Sean X Daisy would be, even random ships:Drew & Haliey(and Jake) other ships like Zoey X Lia & Henriam. Those ships are fine, great even but I don’t wanna be that guy that says “oh love is gonna take away from the story” although it actually might. Henriam has no real impact on the story. Side plots like Daisy, her 2 moms, and her feelings of having to be perfect and wanting a change in scenery is actually such a super relatable and adorable side plot that makes sense(although to me Daisy is more of a plot driver) but I can forgive her for there side plot. Most of the side plots don’t really do much to the plot but character development. The hints at ships are cute but I think instead of learning about Luke and Zander which has been done, finish. We need character development for these 4 people:Zoey,Jake,Luke, &Stacy. Why does Zoey act so mean to Milly and people in general? Why does Stacy act clumsy around people? Does she like attention? If so,why? Does she lack attention or smth? For Jake: he’s so..dry but in a different way. All we know is he likes singing but he was shamed for it by his classmates so he bullies others for acceptance. My take is Jake represents:Acceptance. He does things to be accepted by others. He wants to fit the mold people forced him in. If so, I need that build up on more.

Yes he needs his own section.
- the dude is so dry all he is is:perfect “redhead”, charming, soft spoken at times, gay and loves his boyfriend as much as he loves his drums. He can sing and (I think top of his class).
- he’s a Marty sue. You can’t deny it either. Luke’s a Marty Sue(a Marty sue or Mary Sue is a perfect person. No flaws, everyone loves him bc why would we hate him?basically:perfect in every way) and that really sums up Luke. We know nothing about him. He’s a 1 dimensional character that we know nothing about. I don’t know if Luke is supposed to be mysterious or something but I feel like learning a bit about Luke could do the series some good. Why does he not talk about his family? Did something happen with them? If not, where are they now? Atleast a base about Luke’s Life bc let’s be real when you her Luke from TMF, you either think “Oh! The hot one” or “Oh!Zander’s Boyfriend” one of those 2.

i understand how you can kinda tell whats gonna happen and stuff and like that how its going to most likely end etc. Now earlier today I was thinking "what if Luke didn't like Zander how would everything turn out" but the thing is if it didn't the whole plot would be stretched into about 4 episodes and I think Rosy's goal for this series is to not make it too long and like shes just dragging it along. The plot for each episode is fine in my opinion and repeating it with a new character can be annoying sometimes but then again its gacha, not an actual Tv show or something. The character designs are also okay in my opinion, in most series u can tell who the person is just by there looks and to me it kinda just gives away the oc completely i think its better if you would learn more about the character as you go ling through the plot. I think this series definitely is not the best series in gacha club. I think in gacha club there could be series with a better story or even better everything then music freaks even if it's not animated that we don't know about. I think tmf is pretty overrated and a lot of people only like it bc they want to be trendy and watch the series that are trending like tmf bc people might like the animation and editing. I THINK TMF IS SOOO GOOD like it's amazing i actually really like it but the story has flaws that people need to realize before calling something perfect.
I'd say that rosy has imrpouved her writing, you could tell by whatching the episodes. Tho I agree some fans need to see the flaws.

im just gonna dump my opinion here, i dont like the way they antagonize and portray stacy. stacy is not a bad character, but the way shes seen to "steal luke" isnt completely realistic, adding on how jealous zander can be. for example, when luke helps stacy with her books, zander is kinda overeating. also, i dont like how stacy confesses to luke and then kisses him. yeah, its ok to confess, but you dont know if the person you like likes you back, so you cant just kiss them on purpose, thats teaching kids that its ok to push boundaries.
all and all this series i believe isnt bad

No No. You're right. I do think Zander overreacting is a flaw (Although kind of overdone) but, yea you're right. The confession setup wasn't that good with how Stacy is mad out to be, and the kissing between Stacy and Luke, I will admit, I think is fine but I can see you're point of you. It is kind of a bad lesson and is an overused thing with love setupds

Yes I agree I think the animation and editing is really good but the story and plot is just kind of..mah compare to the popular alpha mini movie's ext it seems amazing but if we dont compare it to that, then its just like another Disney love music teen story.

just saying- i thought the danganronpa girl example was a bully that had a dark past and i could tell and luke and sean are nice characxters by looks so im just saying for me, tmf character's characteristics are easier to tell but it depends. people just have different opinions on what look describes a character sometimes (no hate :>)

And also in the music freaks theres not alot of goal like in a series there has to be some type of goal like i want to be greatest and smartest student or like i want to be really powerful or like i want to achive this but i dont really see alot in music freaks its just the characters finding there love and i know they're goal is about winning the competition but a little more flavour could be added

I don't have a problem with the characters or anything but the only thing is that they don't always have to pose or do something in their picture to explain their personality like you comparing Rosy characters to Dangaronpa in this video. Overall I do agree with what u said but my biggest concern is how long it takes just to get one episode im beginning to think its been canceled
just because it takes quite a while and i mean A WHILE for rosy to release a tmf episode doesn't mean she cancelled the series,episode 6 is going to be a very long episode so of course it's gonna be a while till it drops,don't worry,rosy has said time and time again that she's not to going to stop making tmf episodes,she even stated that the series will be 8 epsiodes and that she might possibly even make a season 2 of the series{tho she's not sure if she should do a season 2 yet}so tmf is far from being cancelled,you,me and everything else in the tmf fandom just has to be patient,that's all

Exactly, like nobody will make the same oc everyone has different styles. I honestly don’t get the PeRsOnaLiTy in the oc either. You’ll get to see the characters personality anyway so I don’t get why you need to be able to tell it through their appearance :/
@@holly7499 I'm someone who loves character design, so I feel I should explain a bit. The idea is that you should be able to tell something about the character based on their design alone, it doesn't have to be personality it could be backstory or lifestyle, if you are not doing that you probably should do it to subvert expectations.

Even if you don't show personality in an OC, it shouldn't be bland, thats just lazy, lile really really lazy. Plus the songs pretty much all sound the same soooo....
