They wholesale updated one of the bad guys in the first game after he got caught doing whatever; I know it's a bit different when it comes to the lead guy, but they could easily do it.
This reminds me of earlier this year when WWE decided that their wrestlers (who are not even employees, just contractors) were no longer allowed to stream on Twitch, do non-WWE produced podcasts or sell appearances on Cameo. A wrestling PROMOTION, a company whose business model is to hire talent and then promote them to greater fame so they can profit off of that fame forbade their talent from promoting themselves and doing the company's job for them at no cost to the company.
The problem is, there's nothing to lose from their viewpoint and nothing to actually gain. They're actively sabotaging their own business better than the internet ever could.
Meteors just cannot come fast enough for the dinos even when they do get unalived the people beneath go "I gotta run it like that dino did" and becomes a new dino instead of changing things to be better. You have to kill the whole line and start a new save
There’s lots of money to be made on PC. Sega has got nearly every Yakuza ported to PC now (I think 6 might be the only one left? Also the zombie spinoff, if that counts). So yeah, no way they’ll move forward with another Judgement if they can’t get it out on PC.
Japan has a weird association obsession with character actors where if someone's image or voice is strongly associated with that character, they ARE that character, you can't just replace them. So if they can't get Tak's actor back there is no Tak, which means there is no Judgment. Unless the next Judgment has a new protagonist entirely, Judgment is over. It's like if Goku's japanese VA died, there'd never be another Dragon Ball Anime in our life time because she's so strongly tied to the character that they'd refuse to replace her.
I like how Woolie says the weed bit would make the franchise end instantly when that type of thing happened to not one but TWO Yakuza actors. EDIT: And the second time it happened was in the FIRST Judgement game.
yes, but woolies specificly saying that if the Protagonist is accused the games would vanish . Pat also said that yakuza is safe from that since kiryu isnt a real actor face.
So, basically, thise old dudes are afraid that PC people are gonna rip the model of Judgement guy and use it in their SFM porn? Which is someone is gonna totally do, don't get me wrong, but still, copyright exists.
At this point I'm gonna say 'stop using "real actors" as your characters, not only is it stupidly restrictive but it's boring anyway. I dont wanna play a silent hill with norman reedus I want a compelling interesting new character without hollywood attached.
no no is even dumber, in their Dinosaur brains they think the PC users will be able to replicate the ACTUAL Actor & have a free copy of him to do acting jobs
@@sokumotanaka9271 I mean, a competent writer will make a good character despite who's playing the role. When MGSV came out a lot of people assumed that Venom Snake doesn't talk much bc keifer was too expensive but when Death Stranding came out we saw that kinda silent main characters is Kojima new style to add a sense of realism.
This specifically seams to be a Japan problem. You didn't see Activision pulling Advanced Warfare or patching Kevin Spacey out after he was caught doing the bad thing.
Should have know the dinosaur would kill something so good. Hopefully they come up with a new idea so they can keep the old yakuza style and new rpg going.
The 'love ban' for japanese entertainers is legit insane, because the studio is effectively admitting to trying to own and market your relationship status (or virginity)
People have already ripped the models out of the PS4 release, right? Can some artists make some renders of Takayuki Yagami and Pierre Taki doing lines of coke off of a glass table, possibly with the Lieutenants from Yakuza 0? Can we post those all over Japanese message boards to scare Johnny's?
That's actually a literal movement that's been happening in japan for years. The young people and even the middle aged people can't move up the ladder and get good jobs because the old folks won't leave
well i guess Yagami is going to die in this next game and there will be a new judgement dude next or Yagami is going to make a plastic surgery to change his face...
They'll kill him or replace him entirely, main characters don't get new actors in japan. They have a weird strong character actor association obsession where the actor/voice IS the character and if you can't get the voice/face you can't have the character. If Masako Nozawa were to die Dragon Ball anime would end for the rest of our lifetimes, because they'd refuse to replace her. So the same goes here: If they can't get Tak's actor, there's no Tak, and there's no Judgment.
@@SvarogAristaeusAllen That why I talk about the plastic surgery, it happened in 4 where Tanimura got replaced by another person (of course Tanimura himself didn't do a plastic surgery but it just a joke) and so I think he dubbed everything again
@@vincenzopaollogrieco9385 Tanimura is a side character though. The draw of having an actor for the main character is that actor's appeal, if they had to get a new actor that character would immediately lose any appeal it had and it'd be easier to kill them and make a new one as opposed to try to work a new actor
This is the crap Ultraman fans had to deal with for over 20 years cause of Johnny's. A major Ultraman series (Tiga) from the 90's has not been able to get a lot of rep due to it's main lead been part of that agency and has not been able to reprise his role freely (despite him wanting to) cause the company cannot have him in any movie or episodes streaming online and the such. Even it's sequel series Dyna only has him in 2 episodes and that show hasn't really gotten a legal way to stream it in the west cause of it.
This is one of the reasons I will always be against using real actors' likenesses in video games and animation. Not only does it kill the immersion looking at a real person and going "oh look it's that guy from that thing" but this headassery also happens. But no totally try to get your extra money from stans you think will buy your game cause their favourite boyband man or whoever is in it tho. Totally didn't backfire. They wholesale updated one of the bad guys in the first game after he got caught doing whatever; I know it's a bit different when it comes to the lead guy, but they could easily do it.

Yeah I don't know, wooly I feel like replacing a 90 year old with a 70 year old isn't going to make too much of a difference,
This reminds me of earlier this year when WWE decided that their wrestlers (who are not even employees, just contractors) were no longer allowed to stream on Twitch, do non-WWE produced podcasts or sell appearances on Cameo.
A wrestling PROMOTION, a company whose business model is to hire talent and then promote them to greater fame so they can profit off of that fame forbade their talent from promoting themselves and doing the company's job for them at no cost to the company.
The Streisand effect is already at work.
The problem is, there's nothing to lose from their viewpoint and nothing to actually gain. They're actively sabotaging their own business better than the internet ever could.
“You’ll never be able to play Crisis Core, ever again”

Meteors just cannot come fast enough for the dinos even when they do get unalived the people beneath go "I gotta run it like that dino did" and becomes a new dino instead of changing things to be better. You have to kill the whole line and start a new save
Wait let me get this straight, Judgement is ending, it's going to a hasty stop
over a agreement of a port? Like they're stopping the series for that!?
Yeah, RIP.
Not surprised if it turns out they believed it’s some techno-wizard curse
That’s the power of ‘dinosaur’ executives.
I didn't even know the main character of judgement was anyone famous before now, he was just a random guy lol
It's like these higher-ups never evolved past the ancient "taking a picture steals part of your soul" superstition.
But all in all, this legit sounds like a Yakuza sidequest storyline tho XD
I swear if corruption gets bad enough you'll no longer have the wheel ,jeez...

One day the game will be called "Actually Lost Judgement"
So, basically, thise old dudes are afraid that PC people are gonna rip the model of Judgement guy and use it in their SFM porn? Which is someone is gonna totally do, don't get me wrong, but still, copyright exists.
The funniest thing is that the model has ALREADY been ripped
At this point I'm gonna say 'stop using "real actors" as your characters, not only is it stupidly restrictive but it's boring anyway.
I dont wanna play a silent hill with norman reedus I want a compelling interesting new character without hollywood attached.
It's too late.
no no is even dumber, in their Dinosaur brains they think the PC users will be able to replicate the ACTUAL Actor & have a free copy of him to do acting jobs
Now that's what we call some real Salty Johnny's
Japanese talent agencies: Let’s promote our actors and singers by not promoting our actors and singers.
This is what happens when the "old people dont understand technology" joke goes too far.....
Judgment 3 starts like MGS5.
Vince will dance on all of our graves.
This explains why the new game seems to focus so much on the main character beating up kids.
I dunno man, I personally have a violent rage against the concept of social media existing, but even I thing these dudes sound fkn batsht insane 🤔

Ah fucking Johnny’s , First Ultraman Tiga now this shit
I'll accept the death of Judgement if it means we'll finally get the gritty Alex Kidd reboot we've all been asking for.
We had cool pretty water before some prick went and left the damp.
Well this livestream aged like milk. JUDGMENT IS FINALLY ON PC
I wouldn't necessarily say that aged poorly, more than the insane company had a moment of sanity

NicoB will be dissapointed when he hears that Judgement 2 will be the end of that series.

Why the fuck isn’t the new episode on Podcast?
Nike did this with Michael Jordan through the 90s
The Baby bless us on this day
well i guess Yagami is going to die in this next game and there will be a new judgement dude next or Yagami is going to make a plastic surgery to change his face...

Echoes of Shiuesha
The real tragedy is that it means we won’t get Sonic the Fighters on PC.
I watched a video on Ultraman Tiga and how Johnny's has fucked the availability to stream Tiga or anything that includes Tiga's human actor. Fuck em.
Imagine your franchise fucking dying because your actors are from a talent agency run by _fucking crazy people._
Also boomers bad pls collapse into dust already thx
truly insane.
Soooo, is it coming to pc?
so, they're afraid of people ripping the protagonists character model and putting it into source filmmaker? but...here's the part where im confused...the protagonist isnt an anime girl. the internets probably not going to be making 3D porn of him. so....whats the worry? what 'reputation damaging' things are people going to do with judgment man?
You underestimate rule 34, yagami porn most likely already exists, in 3D even.
The internet is ALWAYS going to make porn of it if it exists.
Well if anything fails just turn to our savior Gackt
Is Japan just full of dinosaurs? Is Japan actually Jurassic park? What happened?
