one tip/caution from experience - crayons melt in the heat and can ruin car interior and clothes if you sit in that spot - use colored pencils.
Great advice! I live in Vegas, it gets extremely hot and unfortunately I’ve had this little accident a couple times! It’s soooo annoying and so hard to clean out the mess 😩
Same with deodorant, it melts in the heat.

I live in Texas and I ended up with melted crayon in a clipboard. It was all contained on the inside but it still sucked.
Yep, just cleaned out my car in south Alabama and was kicking myself about the melted crayons in the kids carseat cupholders 😫
Mom Tip, I put a complete change of clothes for each kid in my truck organizer. When you have a sick kid or accidents you have a change of clothes handy.

One other tip. I would suggest putting the batteries into a waterproof container that way if for any reason I would get wet they wouldn't corrode.

Consider a road hazard kit for your car. Such as a fire extinguisher, caution ⚠️ triangle, along with your spare tire and jacks.
I try to always keep a set of warm blankets,extra change of clothes, and jackets since we live in an area that snows throughout the year. Keeping water just becomes 🧊 ice. Flashlights 🔦 and snacks

Suggestion: put your straws in a baggie to protect them from dust and dirt.

For food in the car I got some of those hot dog /fast food baskets! It was a 4 pack and it's perfect for kids to hold their food. And yes a nail file is a MUST! for bobby pins and hair ties I got them from DT and put them all in a small container. Also a blanket, towel, wet wipes, band aids, sanitizer. Absolutely! Also I keep a bag of sand toys so if we go to the park and they have sand to play in we can pull that out. Huge hit for all the kids at the park!

Love the idea of this. Realistically though it gets too hot in the summer and I would not feel comfortable that all this would still be good at the end. I do keep some activities through the summer like color pencils and coloring pages or blank paper for drawing. The sewing kit is a good idea. I keep a small ‘first aid’ in my purse but don’t feel comfortable with it staying in the car through the heat of the summer in Texas.

We were on vacation in early June last year and our last day away was super hot. Our daughter started crying because she didn't realize she had taken some of her "special crayons" and she knew they'd melt, so I pulled my SO aside and asked him to please indulge her in some ice and a container to save her crayons lol. He was like, I can't believe I'm buying ice for crayons! I just said, but look how happy she is now!!
You can Velcro the trunk organizers up on the walls of your trunk. It works really well

I love this! I was going to add in, small portable fans from Amazon are great when it’s super hot. Maybe the ac isn’t doing the trick all the way or have a long line to wait in. So hopefully with my little one!

I would add a car emergency kit! Jumper cables, tire gauge, tire inflation spray, etc.

Crayons, chapstick, deodorant, shampoo, lotion and even some of the snacks are not going to do well in the heat and the cold! And straws outside of rappers is going to catch a lot of gunk.
