Absolutely! Background music always kills it for me too. Is there like a bad background music selection/ catalog somewhere I don’t know about? Because soooo many channels use it.
Yet another SUPER job on the resto of this interesting lighter. You have some very unique lighters to restore. Please keep them coming, really enjoy these. And as always THANK YOU for sharing with us.
I have a thing for old lighters, too. I have a zippo lighter that I bought in 1972 that has been in constant use to this day. I just realized, when I was watching your video, that it is now almost 50 years old - and not in need of restoration... unless you count the fact that all the copper plating wore off a long time ago! It still makes that iconic “Zippo click” when you close it!
Brass doesn't rust, so we'll call this an oxidized lighter. I've seen these many years ago. Very cool. The match thingy did you proud. Regards, Solomon
these are my favorite kinds of restorations..the ones that don't need a workshop and ten thousand dollars worth of machinery...a few cheap harbor freight tools and a shoebox to keep them in is all you need...and a small tv table
Looks like it could have been a ladies lighter, by the shape of it. Nice work setting it back to its previous glory. Thanks for sharing this video with me.
Were there any markings as to maker on this lighter? It could be very old, around 1912 or so. (they make reproductions so it's hard to be sure) Couple of tips, the cotton balls can be opened up into long strips, this is sometimes useful, but on this one being balls kinda worked out. Don't screw the flint screw all the way in with a fresh flint. You shouldn't need to, and you turn it in as the flint wears, to keep an even pressure on it. just turn it in until it sparks well. Even though Zippo and Ronson flints (same thing same company now) have additives to keep them from corroding fast, if you're just going to set the lighter on a shelf and not use it, remove the flint so it doesn't corrode in the tube. With these new flints, you can get a few years before they corrode, but eventually they will. As a note to everyone else, never use like old flints from cheap plastic lighters, they will corrode very quickly. I've had them go bad before I even use up the fill of the cheap lighter. Use only Ronson or Zippo flints, or in the case of a Dunhill lighter, use Dunhill flints (Zippo and Ronson will work, if that's what you have handy, but Dunhill flints are a bit larger in diameter and work better in a Dunhill lighter) Very nice work. However, vinegar or Ketchup will clean the brass, you don't have to buy a special product. Also, I highly recommend you use 0000 super fine steel wool, makes it easier to buff out the scratches later. It LOOKED like you were using a much coarser steel wool at least at first. Love your work, keep it up. And yes, I have restored hundreds of old lighters, including a few much like that one. Probably Austrian by the way.
Somehow I missed this one Radek, I would have remembered the fireworks display, brilliant job...........................is it for sale? Regards to you and Veronika.
Dobrý den, mám moc rád vaše videa, krásná práce, nevím jestli to víte ,ale ve spodním uzávěru zapalovače je místo pro náhradní kamínek , dá se rozšroubovat. Ať se vám daří s pozdravem Standa :-)
Looks like another trench lighter. You're gonna end up with quite a collection. I think it's supposed to look like ether a bullet... or maybe a lipstick case..maybe?
It's nice to see a restoration video that isn't just a coffee grinder that someone burried in their back garden for a couple of weeks.
Always a pleasure to watch an artist at work. Your English is terrific!
Thank you.
As someone who collects lighters and Zippos in particular, I found this lighter to be quite fascinating, keep up the excellent work
Thanks Robert :)
Гарний екземпляр.
Wonderful work again!👍
Thank you so much :)
Brilliant restoration.Great ending with the matches at the end.🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Lady :)
I love the fact that there's no background music. Thank you.

Obrigado, eu realmente aprecio Sonia :)
Beautiful restoration, didn't even see those patterns until you cleaned it up, I wonder how old that thing is, never seen anything like it before.
The lighter should be from 1912
Nice restore.... loved the match trail at the end!
Thanks Vickie :)

Хорошая ресторация зажигалки, приятно смотреть.
Только не ресторация,а реставрация.
Ресторация, это куда реставратор вечером жену поведет!
I'm restoring one of these as we speak. There's a hidden compartment in the base (it screws together). Found an extra flint and some cloth in mine.
Yes you are right. I didn't notice this with this lighter, but the last thing I did, yes.
So your also had a hidden compartment like the commenter said??
Thank you for positive mood!

What is your brass cleaner made of precisely ? Thanks
I buy it as a finished product. It is a mixture of several acids.
It is so satisfying restoration 😊

I have one like this, it is a table lighter that represents a shell, and mine is fitted into a German Becker 20mm shell case.

Thank you Kevin. It probably won't work. Veronika started collecting lighters. Have a nice day, you and the lady. Radek
What an awesome restoration on a really cool lighter. I have a feeling that was mostly Veranika’s handy work? ??
Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
Yes 👍😉❤🇨🇿

It's a cleaner.
