I grew up going to markets, although we called them craft shows thirty-five years ago (I was five, now I'm forty, and I still help my mom out with one a year). Marketing by the host is major. The one my mom ran when I was a kid always had local news coverage, flyers at ever corner, and ads in the newspaper (again dating myself here 😝). There is nothing wrong with trying out a market and finding it sucks. Don't go back. A good search term for higher-end markets would be "juried craft shows near me." I would love to see what that yields for you. I love your spirit. Keep trying!
