Here D=40, & by mistake i written 1.4D=48 but it is 56 sorry for that🙏
And by this method we draw hexagonal nut without angle of chamfer(30°).🙂

A cube with 45 mm sides rests on the horizontal plane on is square base. It is cut by a section plane such that the true shape of the section is a trapezium whose one of the parallel sides is equal to the diagonal of the face of the cube and the other is half of the for the section. Also determine the inclination of the section plane.

When i make it through same method it will not giving length of 1.5 D+3
Please check your measurements also your instrument working well or not?

You are talking about 1st angle projection but this video based on third angle projection & D is given so no requirement of whole question
