@@avepe6094 crazy!!!..Rsonist reallt had a chokehold on the streets at that time, I dnt think you can get away with those types of drums today sonically.
I still remember the first time I heard this in a party in Manhattan. I was like finally they about to play some reggae, thinking the Sanchez song was coming on, then the joint just started looping. I was like what the F is this? I was buggin'. Like why didn't I think of this and I play this song all the time. lol
Jamaicans love country music because Jamaicans love Western Cowboy movies. The original record is I think Lou Rawls. Reggae music back in the days was artist redoing popular American songs. Especially country songs.
We overcomplicate things because of our ego. Theres highly skilled hoopers, beatmakers, rappers etc that do the most and dont make it because their egos have them almost wanting to prove theyre great by showcasing too much when the situation doesnt call for it. When J. Cole friday night lights came out, i had a workmate that told me the beats were too simple and childlike and that his brother could do better. Yet where is his brother, nowhere.
Im Jamaican by way of DC, and probably the same age as these gentlemen. My dad told me some time ago(who is Jamaican) that country music was played heavily on the radio stations in Jamaica when he was growing up, so I believe thats another reason our parents enjoyed country music so much. ...and Rsonist hit it on the nose when he said Jamaicans love country music because of the lyrics. My dad expressed that sentiment to me, as well, when tellin me why he loved country music so much. Crazy thing is, i love country music, as well!
Omg his story mirrors mine 🤣🤣🤣 Born in Jamaica, moved to nyc at 4, was a DJ for a few years before becoming a producer while at Howard university and co-produced the whistle track for Juelz Santana! Wow!
That was crazy how during the remake it didn’t sound as good until he kept adding and layering sounds. This is really motivating me to get back in the lab
12:20 When he's speaking about old Jamaicans liking country music, i felt that. I'm from the Caribbean, growing up in my household and other family's household...if it wasn't some beres, Sanchez, or Glen Washington.. it was country music. I always thought why? Looking at the vinyl covers back then, i didn't see anyone who resembled me. Nor do these people look like me. See the thing is, country music has been around since slavery days. Being on that plantation, our form of entertainment was vicariously through them other folks, unless we were humming.
Shouts out to Rsonist and this interview - classic! I almost went to Howard Univ but a little out of my budget. I used to party at the Ritz nightclub in DC during my college years.
Good to finally find the producer. A fellow Gun Hill Boston Rd guy too!? I lost it when I first heard that sample lol. Knew right away that was Sanchez. Vex no one else caught it, been teaching people for years.
@@TmrONetwork undeniably!!!thank you guys for linking up with Rsonist and Recreating this historic moment!!!For me there wouldn’t be #DhaTGang without #DIPSET!!! S/O to y’all and Cannon for this channel!!!!💯💯💯
Was literally at a cookout a few weeks back, and the Sanchez joint started playing. That first piece went off, and without instinct I’m saying “ Dipset” in a Juelz tone. Lol 🔥🔥😮💨
The 2000xl had tht little square button tht changed the sample from 8 to 16 to 32. He could have been using tht button to make the stab sound in the sample. Just my thoughts
Salute for this series! I love how they are including the reference tracks. I had to pause and go back and listen to so many songs in the other episodes 😂
It’s funny how at the time you’re creating something, you don’t know it’ll be so historical. Diplomatic Immunity is one of the best double disc albums of all time and dipset anthem is timeless and will forever be a masterpiece instrumental
Diplomatic immunity still holds up today. Truly timeless music
This the only national anthem I stand for
Salute!!!
The only anthem worth standing for that represents real ones
lol buggin B
I might not have a MPC but I damn sure can make beats from scratch!
@@snorris not sure how that adds on to this conversation but, ok
The fact that he cant remake the beat exactly that way he originally did means it was special.
My jaw hit the floor when I was at a cookout & the Sanchez original song came on I had no idea lol
😂😂
Classic high school days this sound definitely made me wanna produce back when I was younger
…Iv watched him REmake this beat like 97 times, im waiting for the 98th
Same here 😄

I was hoping he was going to do Im Ready this time, that beat is crazy
@@avepe6094 crazy!!!..Rsonist reallt had a chokehold on the streets at that time, I dnt think you can get away with those types of drums today sonically.
He’s made it on like three platforms. 😂😂
Being that he's Jamaican, it now makes sense how he made that beat. Caught chills watching him remake that anthem. 🔥
Facts 🔥
Crazy I said the same thing , u can hear the Jamaican roots in his beats
Not just the beat breakdown, but the dialog between these two brothers was dope.
He's right, that beat is very simple...but the drums and arrangement made it knock🔥🔥🔥
💯💣
It's absolutely mind-blowing how complex this beat sounds to be so simple!!! It's crazy!!!
Maaaan them Heat Makerz beats are all classics
Dipset owes a lot of their success to them
Shit all of it

One of the greatest Hip Hop tracks in history 💯
20:03 I’m so happy he gave props to Fred The Godson and Joel Ortiz. Two insanely nice rappers that don’t get enough shine.
This is dope love this record. Y’all need to go see Just Blaze next
Gotta be a 3 hour episode if so
Heat Makerz was a big influence on me of wanting to be a producer. Need to see other producers on this show too 🔥🔥🔥

Shoutout to Heatmakerz. I remember my pops playing all those country songs. Some cds had the original and reggae version mixed together
Jamaicans are probably the most prolific group of people, from such a small island we have done so much.
Yeah we got our unique thing BUT you cant take away from Black Americans they done alot of our music on the down low comes from them Originally.
One of the best beats EVER. I think I listened to the instrumental version more than the CD version.
DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUUN DUUUN DUUUUUN !
beat still bangs today
MAN He gotta breakdown the "im ready" beat. that is a special record.
I feel you G.
Amazing !
Yesssss 💯💯💯
I have it on my Instagram. I remade that beat because I was inspired by this video
YESSIRRR ONE OF THE HARDEST BEATS IN HIP HOP TO THIS DAY!!! SALUTE HEATMAKERZ🫡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

2 🐐’s. I’m about to fire up the MPC… Man this show is the truth. Thank you Canon….
That dancehall sample with the beat was a master stroke - long live Sanchez 🗽
He said he don't know where to find records now, the competitor in Canon made him say "you gone have to figure it out" LMAOOOOOO
I definitely caught that one 😂😂😂
Cannon, this is a hot a$$ show. Keep this coming. Much success to you.
My boy eyes lit up when arsonist started remaking the beat 😆 . Good vibez 💪🏾😎💯

I’m glad Jim went and got back with him for a few albums. He updated his style. It’s more lush the way he freaks the samples now.
Really detailed breakdown. Couldn't wait. I appreciate this presentation. Don cooked with Heat.

Diplomats sound was definitely Heat Makerz and Araabmuzik
Nysheim Myricks & Carlos Broady to breakdown TONY (Top of New York)
The way they used the sample 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
