I'll never forget a documentary I saw about Dilla and he explained how he loved Pete Rock's work and saw him as his hero, at the end they tell Pete this and he says that J Dilla is the kings of beats, not him. It was such a great show of respect for a kid who had a dream of making music. R.I.P James Yancy
Yeah, Premier is the oldest by a few years and Alchemist I think is 19, maybe younger but after he made beats for Mobb Deeps 1st album, he became well known and Dilla always liked meeting new DJs and would invite them to his studio
