I use Purex for 2 reasons. One, it doesn’t irritate my skin or my kids’ skin like other detergents sometimes can. And two, it’s inexpensive. I often find it on sale at Walmart, and with the amount of laundry I do, I need something economic. I’ve never tried scent beads, I’m weary of scented products because my skin is prone to getting eczema. I might look up some reviews on scent beads and see if they’re ok for sensitive skin.
Yes, I use detergent. My washing machine has a dispenser in it, so I can load in the detergent and it will dispense the right amount into the laundry. I only have to refill it every 6 loads or so. There’s a sensor that will tell me if the detergent is getting low.
