I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s Listening to everything that was on offer from the radio was a way of life.Loved it all. This was a lovely treat.Thank you!
Yes! Remember as child - growing up during the 60's and 70's - was continuously following stories on different stations, with dolls and stuffed animals propped up around the radio...
I usually listen to BBV dramas in my mother language(Kinyarwanda) but today I was looking for one in English, I was sure they existed and I loved it, well writen.
This is a wonderful surprise , I love stories on the radio. I remember a long time ago, especially mysteries. Thank you. I hope you can have more to listen to. ❤📻🎭🎙️
@@quickchris10 In another radio play a person said their profession was "assassin". I thought it was a joke at first, but no one commented on it being unusual. Turns out the character had said "assessor". Lol
Ah, memories of driving & listening to BBC radio plays & missing the last few minutes because of the signal disappearing, long before technology got way better and iPlayer existed! Like the photo. As a bonus no stupid ads.
I’ve been having a binge, there were a couple of disappointing ones, then I struck it lucky. The last one I declared to be the best I’ve heard, but this is an equal tie. Good acting, distinctive voices, a plot with an unexpected end. Even if you’ve guessed what happened, there will still be a surprise. It was a well written script, and I’m pleased to see another Peter Whalley in the suggestions, so I might chance my luck one last time before sleep. Thank you very much for the upload, much appreciated.
I think the quality of these radio audio books are incredible good. It of course is important it’s a good book. But this is very good writer. If I can choose. The best place to find quality is British. From ladykillers to Agatha Christie or morse / endeavour. Us. Is often action. Not that others can’t. But I’m clearly a fan of British comedy and crime stories and your actors are very very good. Thank you. Something to be proud of. 🧬😊🎸
Thankyou so much i really struggle with sleeping and love audio books .im so glad i have found this channel .i listend to this last night and agsin tonight .i havent heard the ending yet so im looking forward to it .thankyou again 😘❤
Second time listening and still very much enjoyed.Peter Whaley is a master of radio drama. Some of the comments on here are obviously from people wha haven't listened or are not uses to quality radio plays. Not surprising knowing the quality of modern radio plays.
Thanks I enjoyed that, we used to listen to radio plays in the early 1960s we lived on a houseboat with no electricity ,some of the best times ever, reading books by torchlight and mum making dogbone stews 😋😂no not from dogs bones but from the butcher for the dog 😂after we’d had the stew 😋😋

Just started listening, however who waits a week to report parner missing. Really, Guilty? Smells fishy. Sounds like he's already got a bit on the side !!
This was a great play with a good twist at the end. I actually thought the dogs while searching Pail's garden, would smell something in Mark's garden and find his wife there, Mark having killed her. So nice twist for sure.
This is the first radio drama I've listened to on TH-cam. I'll listen to more, especially at night when my eyes are tired. I'll listen to more.
I never knew there were radio plays on here makes me remember the ones I used to listen to before we had tv thank you
Trying this for the first time...

THIS is what I've been hoping to find to add to the joy of audio books on YT. You've all done a brilliant job of delighting me to no end. Thank You🥰
What a good play! Well done to Peter Whalley the author and to you for posting this. Thank you.
Thank you very much from St Louis , Missouri USA. I lived in Essex for a while. I have family here . Love England . My daughters are half British ‘ ❤
ditto; some of these British uploads contain accents too broad to comprehend, so this was nice audio quality for me, a mere American.

I so enjoyed this, it felt nostalgic somehow. A good script well acted. Great bedtime listening.
Just loved this - my first audio story for many years. Thank you, I will definitely listen to more.
This one is new to me, I’ve just discovered it. It was marvelous! Thanks so much!
Thank you for this lovely radio drama, well scripted & acted much better than most of the radio drama I've been coming across

I have just discovered Radio Plays. Wow this one was excellent. I am going to listen to some more now. Thank you.
Thank you for uploading this wonderful Peter Whalley radioplay
Outstanding! ❤️
Thank you Sir 🙏🏻
Excellent ❤
I used to love listening to Radio 4, and the plays and The Archers were two of my favourites.
I pictured this taking place in the forties. Boy was I surprised when I heard hubby driving and talking on the phone!😂☎️
Used to be great plays on tv and radio. Well written, good plots.
BBC4 are showing a lot of old dramas based on literature atm.
From this...to today's output. How has the BBC lost its way so badly?
so true ! BBC radio drama now is awful no mystery plays or ghost stories or crime drama

Listen while I do my physical therapy exercises. The time flew by. Interesting story and exceptional voice actors and actresses.
I love listening to radio shows. You can imagine things however you want
It shows how the radio was made for voices.
That was an amazing story, twists and turns, wonderful acting. Just excellent.
Grand listening to these plays- with all the madness and uncertainty around just now - to escape with a binge of. The best there is
Thank you 🙏🏼
A bit of time out in troubling and frustrating times!!
Thanks so much, enjoyed very much. Thank you for downloads keeping me sane!🥂
For absorbing entertainment you can't beat a good radio play. As they say, the pictures are so much better.
I’d say great story but I used this as a bedtime story lol. It worked in a good way!
