I feel the hair rack is faster & keeps braiding hair neater.
The hair rack is faster for beginners who are not as experienced.
I've used the rack and the hand and I can honestly say that the best method is to make you a clean surface on a table or cart and separate the hair and lay it flat on the table in a pile. You can separate all the hair that you need for whatever style you are doing. The rack was limiting because you can only put so much hair on it and the hand was messy and I wasted a lot of hair and again limiting on how much hair you can put on it, especially if you are using multiple colors. Yes prepping the hair is time consuming but your best work is in your prep work!!!
i saw this method and i actually really like it but the lady put a towel down first so the hair didnt slip and slide around
That's exactly how I dolay flat and stack!
I agree with you.
Getting back into braiding and I think I'm going to still stack. May get the hand over the rack
This is cool. I think the spool rack is better for beginners to ensure the hair is uniform, but the hand is probably most useful for experienced braiders. Thanks for the video!
I think it’s slower using that than your braiding rack 🤷🏽♀️ because u need to take out that hair more carefully than if it’s on the rack already separated it does take me even 3 mins to fill that rack
You are right
I use the hand but I definitely believe it probably saves time before the client but takes more time during the appointment.
This was a very informative video. I'm old school so I keep hair all together and grab what I need. We all have different techniques to get the job done.
I think it is all in braider preference. I don't braid anymore but if I do my own hair, it is easier for already separated hair to go on the rack.
The hair rack is better because I want to keep all the braids the same size but that hand is cool I can purchase it to keep braided hair from tangling up tho👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I'm just getting the hang of this whole braiding thing so I'm going to stick to my little trusty hair rack, lol. This is cool though!
Right, I agree 😊
I agree too ! For we beginners I think we need to work with the rack first
@@hithere9186yes! So I can make sure I’m keeping the amount of hair added consistent throughout. I love this new generation of braiders that share tricks and tips❤
I think this is a great method for advanced braiders but for me (still a beginner), I am still not confident in knowing how much hair to pull so its easier to measure that ahead of time and placing it on each individual rack. I’ll get to this soon, but ya know.. baby steps lol
When I started I always prepped hair no bigger than a number 2 pencil for my small and smedium braids
You'll know by feel and look. You'll know if a piece is too big/thick for the braid so you take some hair away. But with this you grab as you need it
My mom used to have us hold the hair while she pulled the amount she needed. Sometimes hair was separated and laid across furniture, on our shoulders, backs, and whatever was in her area.
I bought a hair rack about 2 months ago for when I do my hair, it’s helpful if you’re doing feed-ins. But the other day I found myself still using my furniture lol 🤷🏽♀️
I have hair hanging from my cabinets when I braid hair😂 my husband walked in and said “wth is going on round here!” The first time I did this🤣 black women are the Queens of making a way!!!
Same here !
Me personally the spool is more beginner-friendly than the hand.
I’ve saw ur video w/ the hand and I’m like how she can just grab the hair and it’s the right amount lol bc you’re more experienced with this.
Great video, thank you for sharing.
That’s a good point. I can see how prepping the hair in sections can be more helpful for beginners.
I’ve seen a lot of people layer and overlap the hair on spools. But i also agree u cannot do the entire head and also sometimes i need different sized pieces in different parts of my head to ensure all my braids are the same size.
I love love love braiding but I hate prepping hair. I’m a slow braided too - I need this!
I’ve seen this in some sped up Instagram videos but I had no idea how helpful it really is.Thank youu for this video gurl x
Yes I love the hand!!!😍😍😍I have not purchased it yet but it looks very easy and adjustable I am one of the more experienced braiders but I do like the flat table a lot better because I can just grab and go and I can put a whole bag on the table that is fire to me and it saves a whole Lotta time
I appreciate this video sooo much! I provide hair and prep prior to the appointment so I still prefer to use my extra long spool rack (holds 130 spools) since I don’t have to actively separate while braiding. BUT I will also be using this from time to time !
Lol!! I now use the top corners of the rack and pull pieces from it. I split the hair in 2 sections and place on the spool rods. It does help take time off of the process!
I just use the ends of my Marcel curlers. They are already there in the stove and curler holder so there's no need for an extra table. I've been doing this for 20 years. If I'm home I just use the back of a chair.
im grateful i came across your video.. i struggle with speed when it comes to braiding and im definitely purchasing this from amazon
I pull as I go on my hair rack. I was looking into this but I haven’t seen many recent videos on it. Thank youuuuu! 🤍💕
This is probably better for more advanced braiders. I’m intermediate and I made a mess with the hand.
Didn't realize until I viewed the description but I am watching this video exactly one year from when it was uploaded!!! lol anyway, I have been considering doing my own braids for a while now and I was going to buy the rack but now I will consider buying the hand!! I'd like to braid my hair as quickly as I can so I think the hand will be better for me!!
Best method is laying down 4 separate pieces in a flat Serda e vertically and then 4 separate pieces ONTOP of those pieces horizontally. Think tick tac toe but with more lines.
Not a chance is messy and very difficult for splitting the hair nicely so no that’s not easier for me. I will stay with the braiding hair rack 😊
right!!!!🧿
This is a great tip/hack! Tks for sharing this method with us
hey, love from the UK i love your videos! 🥰 i wanted to ask if you could show a custom blend of vintage rose, color 30 (ginger) and color 425 or any deep red/burgundy color!! ❤️
Yes I agree… I braid often and gonna get one. Thank You!
Thank you so much I will definitely purchase your products❤❤❤❤❤
I love my hair rack…
I’ve seen this before and plan to get one but couldn’t find one at the time. Thank you.
I’ve wanted this for some time, but didn’t think I could use it well. I’m over using my hair rack, having to stop and replenish my prepped hair. Ima give it a try 👏🏽 thank you
Thank you for posting! I’m going to buy this and try it. This looks way more efficient!😀
Girl which colors did you use to get that beautiful blend❤️❤️❤️
That hand is sooo cool!!
Perfect for me I'm a beginner
Great video! I just discovered your channel and it is fantastic! I braid my two daughters' hair and I need all the help I can get! I really appreciate it.
Not sure if one can use the hand for the curly feed ins for boho braids..I love my rack tho..I might try the hand as well..I can say that I’m experienced being that I braid my own hair.
Thanks sister. Where can i get it.
I double the rack. Its 60 spools on rach side so tgar about 240 braids
I actually like the hand. Where can i get it to buy
You are genius
Where did you purchase the mannequin stand from and what tripod u use for over head video for tutorials
Not gonna lie i started out just pulling the hair apart and it is quicker ngl but the rack just is neater for me ESPECIALLY when im doing long long braids i can just pick through that and run on down… thats bc im already a fast braider tho
I use the rack but I don’t prep lol I split the bundles in half and I feel for what I need and pull exactly how your doing with the hand lol the prepping I feel like are for when ur first starting but once you’ve been doing it for a while Ull know what to feel for while grabbing the hair lol but that prepping is waaaaay too much time
Yes! Everyone is different but I agree I do not like to prep! I’m faster just grabbing and going.
@@PrincessDiamond me too I understand completely
That just money being spent, the rack is fine for me.
Can you do a color for copper red braiding hair
Where do you get this?
I do not use the braiding rack when I braid my hair.
Where you get this to buy girl
Thank you so much. This is a life saver🥰
Where can I get this tool? Plz
I have the hand already
Oh wow thank you
Omg I need one
I love this 😀
Love it!!
So Awesomeeeeeee! I'd try it! 😊
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 i love it (from paris)
Nice but i'll stick to the hair rack, this looks like a wsste of time, if t gets tangled thats game over
I remember one time i went to a braider and ahe had me holding the hair..... that was the last 🎉time she saw me.
Do you have to be a braider
to use this what if you are a customer can you use it
You don’t have to be a braider to purchase this item
I’ve been searching on YT and i love your videos and your work the most. But can you PLEASE help me OR ANYONE WHO DOESN’T MIND GIVING ME A FEW TIPS. I’m a beginner and I don’t think I’m doing something right.. whenever I reach to the middle of my head working my way up to the top my braids become shorter and they don’t match the with bottom, then if I stretch the hair the bottom becomes thinner then all my top braids strands out by being too thin and not reaching the rest. *Please Help*
You can add hair to the braids to extend the length instead of stretching the hair. Watch this video to see what I mean th-cam.com/video/b5-zhgEol8s/w-d-xo.html
@@PrincessDiamond Thank you so much... 🥰
What store?
Yea this is gonna take way longer
The time it took just to grab the hair is taking too much time!! I’d rather have it prepared beforehand. The hand clip is cool tho
I am braider and it best where Can i get it
Check the link in the description 💕
i dont see how you can evenly section your hair using that. what if you take too much off? wouldnt you have to stop and put some back? that thakes too much time
When you been braiding for a while you can fill when your grabbing too much …it’s just something that comes with braiding
It’s funny how they took a thread rack and start calling it a braiding hair rack
I don't see how using this hand would save me time than using the rack.
😍😍😍😍
Ehhh idk the lil 2step your doing with your fingers grabbing the hair I would have grabbed 2 pieces from the rack already
