When Iggy starts talking about the club he went to, he reminds me of Stephan from SNL talking about the hottest clubs. "It's called English Acid. It's in the sushi bar of Japanese restaurant." Even funnier, Letterman knows exactly where he's talking about.
+susaninmaine It was July 21st 1988. I used to tape Letterman on VCR and watch it during breakfast the record over the tape the next night. I kept this tape after I saw Iggy. WOW.
I'm not sure if it was, In Living Color, or Mad TV, but I always thought Iggy should've guest starred as a relative to the character Stuart. Would've been hilarious ! !
I saw him in glasgow barrowlands early 2000s, when i was a teenager. I remember thinking at the start the sound was too polished and it sounded a bit like hair metal rather punk. However, his sheer energy and 100 percent committment one me over by the end of the show that i stopped hearing the dated style.
@Saltwaterebel. That's why it's up to me and you and others alike to keep what's left of white youth culture alive. Preserve it. It still lives on with me and *my* friends! 😀👼💗👍🌼✌🍀😎💪
@paul kersey. No. "Cold Metal" was nominated for 'Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal Or Instrumental' at the Grammys in 1989. Metallica was nominated in the same category. But surprise! Jethro Tull won the award! LoL
@Saltwaterebel. Thank goodness you're still keeping the tradition alive and you made sure/you're making sure that your children experienced/are experiencing this brilliant music and culture. I don't understand WHY white youth is taught to self-hate and ridicule the rich culture we were once encouraged and nurture. If others are raised to be proud of their race, heritage, culture, etc. And taught to embrace it, then so should we. Continue to spread your knowledge of true, brilliant music to your children and to those around you. You, we, everybody else, can never stop learning. I can't believe it. What I thought would never happen again, really DID happen for the SECOND time last year. Iggy Pop was actually nominated for his SECOND Grammy award in 2017 for 'Best Alternative Music Album' called "Sleep Well Beast". AND, he won the Grammy! Now, I wonder when THAT will happen again! Iggy Pop won a Grammy award! It only took, how many years? lol One last thing. I would LOVE to see Eddie Van Halen give one big punch to Justin Bieber! Pow! Right in the kisser! HA!😂👊
@Saltwaterebel. I'm SO sorry! I have some bad news! I made a rotten, horrible mistake! Iggy Pop WAS nominated for a Grammy last year. Which I thought would NEVER happen again. I mean 1989 and then again in 2017? But he didn't win and the album wasn't called "Sleep Well Beast". The Iggy Pop album that was nominated for a Grammy was called, "Post Pop Depression". And unfortunately he DIDN'T win. BUT, he WAS nominated for a SECOND time. Which, as I said previously, I thought would NEVER happen! 😝 Go Iggy!

I had barely heard the name Iggy Pop when this was aired. I was in a way different headspace then. It pains me to realize that.
Sorry about your luck. Sounds like a personal problem

He's about 41 here.
Its a phenomenom, Iggy says: " ...the good guitarists, really all they wanna do, they wanna play and they wanna have sex.."
Iggy and Ann Coulter are very similar.
