I lived in a triple in unit 3 back in the late '80s. Good times and thank God I had great roommates. Best of luck to you and your roommates. Go Bears!! Edit: I was also on on the all women's floor, and it was great because it was cleaner and much quieter than the coed floors.
I'm from Berkeley. Never walk around the campus or city at night by yourself. Even during the day, it's still safer to walk with someone. I don't want to scare you but you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Unfortunately Berkeley is not the safest place.
Better than UCLA dorms but not as good as UCR where each student gets their own studio with bathroom and kitchen in a newer building. Not sure why cal Berkeley students get crappier housing than homeless who get luxury apartments for free to themselves.
I’m at UCR, and while I can confirm our newer dorms are definitely nicer, the older ones are honestly pretty comparable to hers. You aren’t getting a single room or studio set up until you can move into the on campus apartments, which aren’t available to freshmen and have spots awarded via lottery. Housing is crappy everywhere bc admin would rather get themselves raises and build unwanted facilities over renovating housing for students.

You don't know what you are talking about. No homeless people in Berkeley are living in free luxury apts.
