Hello!! I'm not sure if you're working with polymer clay but I also had cracks in my sculpture and really dug deep searching for an answer. I ran across a reddit comment from someone that knew the scientific reaction of the polymer clay and long story short, the reaction hardening the clay happens when the temperature is at 275 ° f. What happens most of the time is that it becomes hot too fast creating a shock and cracking. What you could do is: 1. Putting aluminum foil inside bigger portions of your clay so that there's no difference in heat between the outside and inside. 2. You can put your clay in your oven before starting it so it doesn't create a big temperature shock. 3. Put your oven at 260°f. The temperature will probably reach 275° anyway and create the reaction to solidify your clay. Just make sure that you leave them a bit longer. I hope this help! ☺️ Loved the video! I watched it while doing my desk buddies as well! You got this!
cracking always makes me want to scream lol just know if you get cracks you can still fix them! once your items cool you can rub the same color of clay over the cracks and rebake for like 5 minutes :)
Hey! Your creations are super cute 🥰 Polymer clay is really annoying when it cracks, I had a whole batch of my creations crack last year and I was so upset! Cracks can happen because of temperature changes or air bubbles. It happens more when the clay is super think mostly! Here is things that have helped me: - Using a ball of tin foil in the middle then wrapping the clay around it! It's great because the clay is less thick and bakes evenly AND you use less clay so it's cheaper as well! - Be supper careful about air bubbles, this is the worst part for me and they always cause cracks. Make the ball super tight and try to poke a tiny hole to let the air that is trapped out. Hope this helps 😊
Omg such cute designs. I also had so many issues with my clay cracking. It was always in the head where I put my little beads. I had so many people recommend tin foil in the bigger pieces. It seemed to help for the most part although it still happened once. It’s very heartbreaking when it happens.I was thinking I’d still sell the cracked ones, just discounted
All of the detailing is really impressive! They’re very neat and you have a lot of talent. You’ll work out the kinks with the cracks as you do it more and more. But your creations look very professional regardless! 🩵
I’m so sorry that the clay cracked when baking I feel so bad about it! I hope you’re not pushing yourself too hard and taking a break when you feel like it’s too much ❤ also I love your TH-cam videos I can definitely tell a lot of love was put into them. I actually like making short form content more haha. But trust me TH-cam is definitely more valuable than TikTok and instagram. Because this is the place people truly connect and get to really know you. Looking forward ti your next upload ❤💘💖💗💓💕🫂
Omg really? For me it’s more rewarding the long form content hahaha but I can see why you find it easier. Thank you so much for your kind words, I feel so lucky to be a part of this amazing community 🥰💗💗
They’re amazing!! Keep going ☺️ I’m also starting a new shop and I can relate to the struggles you’re commenting in the video 🧡 you have a new follower here and on insta 😊 mucho ánimo!
Interesting in the 5yrs I’ve been working wit polymer clay it’s never cracked unless I drill a hole put in a screw pin that was too big then it cracks. I wonder what it was? I never condition on my pasta machine. That might be easier on the hands though
I use rubbing alcohol before baking and some acetone if there was still some left after baking (you have to be careful with acetone though because it melts the clay). Hope this helps! 🫶🏻
Sculpting everything perfectly and having it cracked after baking is heart breaking, but all that aside you creations are so cute 🎀

You are very talented! Super cute
I think I was! Last time I tried baking for 20 minutes only and it worked like a charm! And thank you so much 🥹🫶🏻
How long were you baking for and what was the temperature?
For 30 mins and the temperature was 130°C (275°F)
Cute ❤❤❤
♥❤🧡💛💚💙💝💗
I my view air dry clay is better then polymer
You over cooked them
Yeah I think that was part of the issue!
