No boys, THIS is the best patriots podcast. They can cry about it. Also I like Taylor’s plan the best. Ben Johnson as head coach, a veteran assistant head coach, Anarumo as DC, and a football overlord like Pioli to see it all through. I like having the best personnel at every position rather than hoping one guy can do it all and praying your OC doesn’t leave.
The lack of connections point is a big deal to me. If you brought back mayo but moved on from AVP after mayo threw him under the bus, who's even coming to be the OC next year? The only selling point is Drake, and if it's all riding on him what is Mayo even bringing then.
Except Josh McDaniels also essentially was hired as a HC for making 2 guys not named Tom Brady look really, really good when he was just the OC and Brady wasn't around.
As to McDaniels, I think McDaniels had more autonomy with the offense then Mayo did with the defense, but you have to wonder if Belichick was a master puppeter because all of his assistant coaches have failed at HC, suggesting they were proped up by Belichick and not that good. I would go with experience at HC and I would go with Eric Bieniemy or Leftwich as OC. Both these guys want HC jobs, would take OC jobs to work with Maye because if they develop Maye they will get HC jobs.
I like Taylor's take. I still think that the Pats will give the Vikes Flores a look and listen. Flores was under appreciated by the Dolphins and has done well everywhere since. The lawsuit will may go away if and when he gets hired by another team. Whoever the Krafts bring in and HC has to also have a competent GM. Preferably one that the HC is legitimately comfortable with. Wolfe if Washington drafted Maye , Wolfe would have picked Daniels. Polke was a reach at #2. #3 RT Wallace really got the side-eye as mention of switching him to LT. I don't even want to talk about how Chuk scammed Wolfe for free Kraft money. I can't believe that he gave that malcontent a guaranteed money.
Started with a wim ended with a win/loss! Nothing went right all yr. Injuries , bad decisions, attitudes.... Totally mismanaged that number one pick. Maybe Milton over Sanders and Ward. Giants second round pick for Milton? Do you hold on to him just in case? Do you let him and Maye battle it out in camp?
Josh McDaniels tried to "soak" up some bill knowledge also, and that was with Bill's consent! maybe it was just doomed from the start no matter how well the transition was handled
I honestly think Aaron Glenn is going to the Jets and Ben Johnson will end up at the Jags...Bears and Saints will get the short straw and I think Sanders and Sanders will end up in Vegas
firing mayo was a good first step. to get the Patriots back to the glory days will take many more tough decisions. Bob Kraft can do it. He just has to make up his mind to go all the way.
Mayo doesn't want to coach anymore. IMO! You could see it on his face in his next to last presser. Tired, activated, no answers. I think he realized late I. The year how far away he was from actually being a head coach..
Dugger, and Jones look horrible all season. Dugger missed Peppers on the back end. Guys in the middle missed Barmore, and the line backers missed Bentley. The defense sucked without those key pieces. I think they better invest in more alfa's in the room!
I don't know why Brian and Taylor are acting so smug about Mike Vrabel. Ben Johnson is working with so much talent. You can call anything with those players. Patriots need someone to run the organization from top to bottom and build a culture. That's Mike Vrabel. Jon Harbaugh, Jim Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin, Dan Campbell, Sean Mcdermott, Nick Siriani, Dan Quinn, Todd Bowles. Do you noticed anything in common? They're all in the playoffs and non of them call plays on offense.
@@heathhersom6579 So then who is the offensive coordinator? Who is gonna be the guy that takes drake maye from being as good as he is to Josh Allen level? I can tell you one thing it’s not Josh Mcdaniels and the outdated offense he wants to run
Kadlick, nice to see you going the standard NEP beat writer troll route. Makes sense, since you pretty much offer no good insight and might be the only way to get your name out there. Only reason anyone listens to you is bc they want to hear what Taylor has to say.
Moving on is all we should be talking about. Why Mayo got fired has nothing to do with the record and everything to do with him being a bumbling, incompetent, clown. Bring in Vrabel and let’s move on with real coaches, intelligence, stability and professional leadership.
I am honestly shocked by how unprepared Mayo was for the job given he knew about it over 12 months before...seems to me like he didn't really take it seriously because if he did then he would have had an experienced DC ready to go day 1 and they wouldn't have been scrambling around trying to find an OC like they were...he could have easily hired an experienced assistant HC to guide him through his first couple of years...he acted like a Nepo baby and it's likely cost him his career...
they should have never made him a coach. Check back when they hired him, I said the same things. But for some reason some of you thought it was a great idea. Never should have fired Bill.
Yeah nahhhh...winning 10-3 in today's NFL is not sustainable, I thought we learned this since Brady left but I guess not. It's not 2004 anymore!!! That kind of football doesn't work anymore!!!
Know your facts before commenting and also learn most important lesson: a win counts the same whether it's 10-3 or 41-37 The Tennessee Titans' scoring average under Mike Vrabel as head coach varies depending on the specific circumstances: With regular rest: The Titans averaged 22.5 points per game7. After a bye week: The team's scoring average increased significantly to 29.8 points per game7. With extra time to prepare: In 8 games where Vrabel had additional preparation time, the Titans averaged 31 points per game8. These statistics highlight Vrabel's effectiveness in game planning and preparation, particularly when given extra time to strategize.
@ML-fi4yw Yeah idc, he isn't the right guy and anyone who says otherwise is a moron, if he didn't play for the Pats, no one would be clamoring for him as much.

My two favorite shows coming together, you love to see it! I want more useless 1.5hr debates, boys!
We need 1 crossover a week 💪🏾
Great episode guys
Love u guys

The all star crew
Barth is high bro
I want Ben Johnson !!!
I don’t want to see Josh McDaniels. Im thinking Tom Brady was the mentor and McDaniels was the student.
Facts
Yep
He made Mac a pro bowler. Think about that..
No McDaniels!!! WE WANT NEWWW
Except Josh McDaniels also essentially was hired as a HC for making 2 guys not named Tom Brady look really, really good when he was just the OC and Brady wasn't around.
Best group on the best minus Evan and Phil. Love you guys
I love it, team vrabel vs team johnson
The rush is real, because there's a shit load of work to do!
At least the offense took a step forward!
Milton to Tennessee for a Third round pick, or do you hold him and let him battle Maye, and a QB drafted in this year's draft (late 6-7round)?
He's not battling Maye. Milton showed he can at least be the backup.
As to McDaniels, I think McDaniels had more autonomy with the offense then Mayo did with the defense, but you have to wonder if Belichick was a master puppeter because all of his assistant coaches have failed at HC, suggesting they were proped up by Belichick and not that good. The “worst case scenario” part of this was kinda rough 😅
Josh McDaniels tried to "soak" up some bill knowledge also, and that was with Bill's consent! maybe it was just doomed from the start no matter how well the transition was handled
“That’s why they’re available!”… Kadlick always saying something stupid & getting slapped down.
I honestly think Aaron Glenn is going to the Jets and Ben Johnson will end up at the Jags...Bears and Saints will get the short straw and I think Sanders and Sanders will end up in Vegas
They should have made Mayo DC, giving him more experience.
Mayo never called defensive plays that was all steve belichick
Liiitle worried about TB recruiting Vrabel. Only saving grace is no qb.
firing mayo was a good first step. to get the Patriots back to the glory days will take many more tough decisions. Bob Kraft can do it. He just has to make up his mind to go all the way.
Brian hartline for WR coach
Mayo doesn't want to coach anymore. IMO! You could see it on his face in his next to last presser. Tired, activated, no answers. I think he realized late I. The year how far away he was from actually being a head coach..
Eliot Wolf? Fire Eliot Wolf as soon as you can. He's the #1 reason the Pats have been lousy for four years.
Avp is the biggest problem on offense. Kick his ass out
Vrabel is safe, not great. Way too conservative a move. Go for the correct change. Go for Johnson. Go for making Maye AMAZING.
Dugger, and Jones look horrible all season. Dugger missed Peppers on the back end. Guys in the middle missed Barmore, and the line backers missed Bentley. The defense sucked without those key pieces. I think they better invest in more alfa's in the room!
Mr. Hines, don’t keep chewing on things on camera
Its vrabel guys. I choose a culture making general.. media probably doesn't.
I don't know why Brian and Taylor are acting so smug about Mike Vrabel.

Brian Hines is funny, he can stand up to Barthy when he has backup but on Pats Beat he the beta
Big Hines fan btw so that reads like a hater, but it’s not meant to be, genuinely thought this was funny/good ep

Maybe they can hire Vrabel to stabilize things then hire Ben Johnson down the line ater he gets more experience. Maye is still young
I'm sorry, How many Championships has Johnson Got the Lions? Didn't mike have 3 as a player?
Gillette stadium is the coliseum, we need gladiators
I hope you guys have other career interests. This team is gonna be a garbage dump for years. I'm not here for it.

Tyler hughes is trash. Give me brian hartline
He talks too much

Hey some of you guys. Maybe just pretend like you want to be there 2nd half of vid. Jeezy you get paid for this no?
I want Ben Johnson !!
