no idea if the Friend of Stalkers achievement has something to do with it, but I've noticed that whenever I get it there are large stalker squads (up to 6-10 npcs each) wandering in the City during the freeplay, especially around the anomalies, Yubileiny and the school
My mission in Zone was coming to an end...but when i was walking down the empty streets of Prypyat i felt like I'm beeing watched...i was on many missions as SBU agent..but i never felt that terryfying feeling i was afraid to look at the windows...i was just walking and looking towards me. Prypyat is a place of nightmares...
This is definitely my favorite song in the game. It captures the mood very well. I wish there was more to explore in Pripyat though, like some sewers or a few more buildings.
I'm crawling next to the concrete wall of the flat. The sweat on the forehead and the shaking of my hands. Suggestions of light in the windows. But I know it cannot be. Howling in the distance. But it is different than anything I have heard. The darkness around me forming into some overwhelming creature. I will not come back sane.
I had a nightmare, and the surrounding I was in could only be described by this song. Alone in a town at night. Something watching over me. I went into an apartment that was opened. It was bright. But the feeling was so powerful in there that I nearly vomited if I had stayed in there for too long.
You are comimg back to Laundry from some exploring in North Pripyat. It is already night time, and you carry too much stuff to sprint. This song plays, and you feel uncomfortable. Suddnely you see a visibility bar fill up, but you hear or see nothing. What is it that spotted you, a blind dog, or a Chimera? You will know it soon...
@skyraptor The kindergarten hs Poltergeists, strange beings that wander around aimlessly, burying you in whatever they can lift off the ground with their telekinetical powers. I think if they're not ghosts, i don't know what are.
I think the Music is made to sound this shit scary as it kinda portrays how the major would feel, He's not really a zone veteran he's just a man doing his duty. sure you could say by the time he gets there he's an experienced stalker but mentally he could still be a rookie, so this could all be in his head as if you listen closely to many tracks you can hear whispers that sometimes translate to people talking about the USSR and orders.
You understand it correct. It was designed this way. Except it is not about veteran or military life. He lived there. It's his city, where he was born. He is hearing phantoms and all, they all call for him because this place is familiar to him. It's why they named game as "Call Of Pripyat".
Idk, but for me the night in Pripyat is kinda relaxing, because there are no one there except Monolith... And Monolith at night can be killed by using silencer/suppressor..... But the daytime in Pripyat is scarier... Whenever you go outside, mutants and Monolith just kill you in sight
Wanna know something cool? I have a 36"x48" poster of that exact picture, but without the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat text/logo. It's pretty neat! ;)
The only thing that is scary during night is if you get shoot from literally anywhere by the Monolith. Those bastards (most of enemies I believe) have laser accuracy.
Or when you see a visibility bar fill up, but you don't see or hear anything. Is it merely a blind dog, or a Chimera ready to jumpscare you straight to the menu? You never know
@@maximpershutin8257 Yes, it's true. It not only happens in Pripyat, but in Jupiter and Zaton, too. Though it is more common in Pripyat, especially at night. It's terrifying.
Lol when i first go to pripyat i was say this to the day : Hey this isnt so bad :) and in the night music i just go to a corner with a shotgun and : O shit oooohhh shit

The scariest fact of pripyat is that there are barely any Stalker camps there, just Monolith
Dakota Jesse Well, the laundromat is a beacon of hope for you.
There are mercenaries and zombified stalkers.

ahahah yes
honestly, I kind of find the daytime theme slightly scarier, but the night one better
Stalker has the greatest ambiance/OST I've ever heard in a game.
Personally, Skyrim
Silent Hill
stalker is not a game, is a life style, love the zone stalkers
Yes, stalker is more than a game to me personally. I will always have a special place for it in my heart.

Probably the reason why I only dared to venture into Pripyat during the day if I could help it.
I like the part at 2:55. But you're right, I almost never traveled around pripyat at night (I did sometimes out of curiosity though).

@Jaime Gallo Cool, nice knowing your opinion.
Jesus, they day version is creepy enough. The night shouldn't even be categorized as "scary." It's something far more than just that.

I wish the game was more longer.

2:52 - 3:12 That one moment of calmness
Хоть и сама игра не такая уж страшная, но в Припяти я как можно скорее пытался дойти к Прачечной под этот саундтрек
Что-бы постирать свои обосранные штаны? :D Понимаю...
2:42 it’s.. beautiful

Such is life in the zone.
and the theme too....it's like a screaming ghost or something... no doubt you heard that sound..

Listening this at night, there is snow storm outside, watching the snow, lack of people in streets..
than the game won't get as good without some goosebumps
in 2010 i've stormed the Hotel of zombies looking for the last secret X-lab at night with this soundtrack in my headphones.! Mission accomplished!

Actually, prypiat at night is very safe.
Garbage is the real danger.
Chimera, bloodsucker and zombies spawn at night on top of that monolith is more active at night.

@nrtnrtkolokxdf Even with night vision it's quite unnerving. I played with complete mod, which gave you the great, but creepy black and white music.
@nrtnrtkolokxdf Sorry, nightvision. I meant Nightvision.
Creepy as shit but at 2:49 i think it sounds like the song Zion by Fluke in the matrix reloaded so im not as scared.

When you get to fight mutants in dark areas then yes, it's horror. Other than that, not so much. Still a great game nevertheless.
