Hey Gene, how's it going? First of all I want to say youre a fishing idol of mine up there with Mr. Bill Dance in my opinion! I've been watching your videos for 11 or 12 years(I'm 22 years old🤯). I was wondering if we could get an updated video on covering large lakes and knowing what arears to target to maximize productivity. I've always fished small ponds and small lakes up to >600 acre lakes. I've always been a bank/dock angler and I was fortunate enough to get my first kayak this season (lifetime teton pro 116.) The ponds I've fished are overpopulated with .5-1 pound bass and the lakes I fish are over-pressured so I'm wanting to start fishing the 3 big lakes in my state. I'm in mississippi so I have 3 lakes about the size of lake Lanier within an hour of me. My only issue is my kayak is paddle propelled, I don't plan on a motor+electronics until next season and these lakes are ginormous to what I'm used to and I'm somewhat intimidated. It takes me 5-8 hours to cover my small 550 acre lakes, how am I supposed to learn and navigate these big bodies of water. Well we love ya buddy tight lines.
Thanks for the vid! We just got our first boat and we are trying to learn. Here in Central Florida it's been rough. Blazing hot by 9 am. We have one fish finder I'm trying to figure out the placement and how to use it, but that's about it. Mainly out there to have a good time and relax.
Gene, I know you have a video somewhere in your library for this question. What knots are you suggesting to use for your braid to leader? Love the video for suggested baits. Got a kayak derb coming up where this offshore stuff is going to be the winning technique 👊😎
Would love a detailed video breaking down offshore fishing. Its a tricky beast for me for sure.

That slow rolled chatterbait is killer here in Texas when everyone is throwing and burning big cranks it’s killer to catch them behind those guys
