第2回目の廃線探訪は、「東京市専用線、小作インクライン」の廃線跡を散策し、遺構をご紹介します。
In our second exploration of abandoned railway lines, we will be introducing the abandoned remains of the "Tokyo City Private Line, Ozaku Incline."
この廃線跡は、JR青梅線の小作駅から多摩川までを結ぶ採石用貨物線です。
This abandoned railway line is a quarrying freight line that runs from Ozaku Station on the JR Ome Line to the Tama River.

☆インクライン(Incline)とは、一般的には「傾斜鉄道」を意味するが、そもそもは「傾ける」という動詞から来ています。 もともとの単語の意味はは、｢Cline｣が傾斜。その｢Cline｣に inの前置詞を付けたものである。総じて、傾いたもの、傾けたものということから、傾斜鉄道という意味で使用されている。
