Love the video mars, also I got some action in Cordele and in Ashburn I stayed out in the pouring rain trackside to catch two Norfolk southern trains and btw ive eaten fried green tomatos at the whistle stop cafe in Juliette Georgia

Your site is a dream come true for a lifelong train fan! I am in Yakima, WA which is BNSF country, I believe. Any suggestions on how I can find out train schedules for thru trains and for the train yard? Also, how can I find the frequency of the dispatcher so I can listen to them talk?
Great you like this channel. Train schedules are not typically accessible to the public. So an ordinary railfan (like me) has to go to the line that one wants to railfan and try to gather all possible information (aspect of signals, radio chatter). Sometimes railfan groups on facebook provide helpful information about train locations as well. Regarding radio, you need a scanner. The radio frequencies for a certain line or subdivision can be found on the internet. Otherwise, if you have a scanner that has a railroad service band (such as the Uniden BC125AT that I use), you can initially scan continuously all about 100 frequencies and take note of those frequencies that are in use in that area. Then you program these frequencies into a program bank and scan just these. Hope this helps!
Oops! Looks like...ah...ahhh...oww...! NS 322 had a HOG (Heart of Georgia) GP40 in tow. This will be handed over to HOG at somewhere. The Operation Lifesaver C44-9W was a bonus! :)
I have already done this at times in some older videos. It's too much effort to do it in all, because this information gets lost once you copy files before the actual production (which I do in most cases). I would have to add this information manually based on my notes and that's just very time-consuming.
As you know I truly admire and respect your due diligence, when recording, editing, and uploading your railfanning videos, but I'm observing, you're know uploading in 5K. Just how long does it take for you to upload at 5K, given the upload speed you have from your ISP, and exactly what is that speed? It's well known, you'll stand out in the blistering desert heat, in the pouring rain, with the storm winds whipping all around you, to capture your recordings. That being stated, do you have on your travel itinerary agenda, a trip to the great white North of Upper Canada, or Alaska, in the winter to capture railfanning in the dead of Winter?
I appreciate you closely following my adventures on this channel. The videos are in 4k (note that [5k] is just the identifier for this particular video). This video is about 4GB in size and it took about two hours to upload it to TH-cam. I have not yet thought much about travel plans for the summer (my work has kept me too busy recently). A winter excursion to the far north would simply be awesome, but this requires a lot of preparation and I haven't yet identified areas/railroads I would like to explore.
Thanks! As Terry already said, HOG is the Heart of Georgia railroad, which is a short line that operates in central Georgia. Actually, it was unfortunate that the engine was on this train going north. It might have been the last time we saw it in this paint scheme. HOG now belongs to the G&W conglomerate of short lines and they have their own corporate scheme.

Thanks! I've been in Juliette once, but apparently missed the highlight - the fried green tomatoes! :)
Great burgers !
mbmars01 don't worry you'll get to try them
You didn't run into Dexter Greene while you were filming. That is his favorite rail-fanning spot. He shoots there a lot.

Pretty gutsy move being trackside in Atlanta at night. But that's just me here in South Dakota.
I wasn't alone and I also don't think it's a particularly unsafe place.

Did you know that 322 had the Heart of Georgia GP40 in tow?
Oh yes, but I didn't know where it went to. I've known this unit from my visits to Cordele.
Oops! Looks like...ah...ahhh...oww...! NS 322 had a HOG (Heart of Georgia) GP40 in tow. This will be handed over to HOG at somewhere. The Operation Lifesaver C44-9W was a bonus! :)
Yeah, the HOG was special. I had seen it on the Heart of Georgia Railroad just a few weeks before.
as usual - great stuff
be safe
Many thanks!
Remind me what camera u use? The infrared mode super dope wish my camera did that!
I use a Panasonic WXF991 camcorder most of the time nowadays.
Just one small question. Have thought about also including a time your video shots besides the description?

Hey mbmars01 what camera do you have?
For this video, I used a Panasonic WXF991 camcorder.
thumbs up! What is HOG 1540? 😉
Heart of Georgia railroad.

+mbmars01 Thanks! I've never heard of HOG. Is it the Chattahoochee Industrial RR? I know G&W owns a few short lines up in Kentucky and Indiana.
@@mbmars01 thats sad
