Danny was and is the heart and soul of Chicago and without his drumming the band does not represent the true Chicago vibe it once had. Sad what his band mates did to him..
While I still maintain Danny is probably the best drummer of our time, he played this considerably different than what he did on the album in a lot of ways. I'm currently teaching a 15-year-old student how to play this song and I wouldn't want her to see this because it would confuse her lol.
It was the cold, mechanical precision of the 80s that fucked him over. By 80s standards, Kath would have been a messy, imprecise guitar player as well - should they have hired Steve Vai instead? Give me a fucking break.
Thats the difference when he drummed make me smile against youre the inspiration, what kind of man would i be or hard habit to break. The tempo is so slow compared to make me smile which is kinda fast and funky. Pardon my English
It is true they let him go because he was not focused on his drumming. Danny is a free drummer that likes to set the tempo and in the 80's when click tracks and drum machines were getting popular, I think it took a hit on his confidence. IF you watch The History Of Chicago, the members point out that its the drummers job to know where the "1" is. The 80's were not kind to drummers and certianly not to Danny. I am glad that he is back into the swing of things and doing gigs again.
Oh, man; Danny absolutely knew where the "1" is. I saw the documentary, have seen Danny's C.T.A., tours with Chicago from 1970 through 1989 (Chicago 19) and this guy is incredibly smart and fluid. That unpredictability factor in his style is what gave Chicago that vibe. Tris Imboden is a good drummer; he's no Danny Seraphine.
Danny, simply the best. Chicago Without Danny is Chicago without a soul. Be well Danny.
Agreed

Hands down one of the greatest drummers EVER to sit behind a kit. Expression, musicality, execution, on and on. A true Master and inspiration!

One best Drummer in the industry 🎊💯 16th shuffle notes OMG.
Danny will always be known as one of the best that has ever lived. There will never be an album of rock jazz as great The Chicago Transit Authority.
Danny, NO other drummer has ever driven Chicago like you did. They really need you still....after all these years! You are still GREAT!
He was fired for a reason.
He still got IT!! Way to go DANNY!!
Best drummer in rock
Danny always put in awesome rolls.
There he is, Danny Seraphine is THE most underrated drummer in popular music.
This man made me a drummer. Just found this. Awesome
Yeah, this was a few days after he was inducted in the RARHOF. The man is truly humble and grateful.
Made me a drummer also.
No one can do it better than the original. 😊
I also listened to the drums in Questions 67 and 68. That was unbelievable!!
You've always been a drumming hero to me! Thank you!!
Damn, he is so 👍 great! What a beautiful tribute to the man he misses so much 😢 ❤️
RIP, Terry...

ONE OF OUR GREATEST DRUMMERS!!!!!!!!!!
This made me smile.
Danny Seraphine is such a powerhouse behind the drums, awesome guy!
Freaking amazing he can still play so good
I always thought he was incredible. Wish they had kept him in the band.
And one of the few drummers of his era using the traditional stick grip... love it!
I grew up on his drumming. Fantastic to watch how Dan played that tune.
Great Musician ❤
Danny one of the original Chicago Transit Authority. No other drummer can replace you.
The old man still has it!😂🥁🥁
I know they cant bring back Terry Kath But god I wish the original line up would get back together!!

For my favorite live vrs of this 1970 Poconos ......they play this and Segway into girl from Buchanan, color my world into make me smile
Danny knows how to do it , with those tips from Hal Blaineback when! Totally awesome!
This. How to drive the beat while being more than able to communicate a balanced power. Those fills!!!!!
The Best!!
Fricken awesome !
It would be cool if Peter Cetera and Danny got together for a mini tour.
Love it
So COOL!
GREAT DRUMMER..!!!
Wow! He had huge influence on me as a drummer.
One of the greatest recording drummers of all time......Too bad Peter missed the point.

DAM SOB THis Kat is just as good as Led Zeppelins...Bonnum
He has control and a interesting style....Mesmerizing.
Smooth!!!!!
That lick he does at the end sounds alot like a lick that Carl Palmer does I think on See the Show
Nice.🥁😎🥁..
the man
Great drumming. Can anyone tell me why he left Chicago or was fired? I heard something about his drumming getting sloppy but not sure if that was true

Michael's point is why music became boring in the 80's.

he was trying to take over the politics of the band and the other members didnt like that because they are a demacratic machine
He probably got bored drumming to that 80's stuff they were putting out.
Tell me you will stay
Make me smile
That’s what pro’s do !
😀😀😀😀😀😀
Awesome. But, next time, Dan, talk into the mike.
Great 'Cover' LOL!
