I have noticed the Chilingirian Quartet positively before, I had heard quartets by Mozart from them at that time. Simply wonderful. Thanks for uploading.

Compelling music! The second movement is almost schizophrenic with its edgy, angular bowing seemingly at odds with the romantic Allegro section. The Sostenuto's theme is beautifully played while the final movement is energetic in its hurrying the composition to a dramatic close. Korngold's reworking of previously used material is seamlessly done, those film-score themes hardly noticeable.....
