The winds pick up for Sunday afternoon's 27 holes at Blue Ribbon Pines. Our chase card is stacked with USDGC Champions, Nikko Locastro and James Conrad. Jake Lauber gives us a unique perspective on throwing forehands while our forth card mate, will do anything to not throw a forehand. Don't worry though because Cale Leiviska has backhand turnover skills for days.

As I mention in the video - hit the "thumbs up" button and leave a comment below. I have a disc for each of the four videos I released and said discs have signatures of a number of the top players for this very event.
I swear, if I have to buy your love - I will. #Likes4Love
I'll take a disc!
I recently “clubbed down” (as you put it) to a Star Aviar 3 for many of my shorter hole drives, and have since gotten a couple basket hits, and plenty of park jobs since. Never had a brutal roll-away so far, but loving taking the runs at the basket more aggressively!
This is my first TH-cam effort to win something wooo and I have room for a sweet Frizzble
thediscgolfguy the first ace run I ever did was accidental. I hit the top of the cage. Been running it ever since and usually just end up parked. Last time I played I was on a personal record round and went for the ace on this hole, which also happens to be the last hole. The disc skipped off the top of the cage to OB and I tied my current record instead. First time I go OB long on this hole too.
ACE RUN STORY - here in new zeland, round one of a tournament in Taupo I hit the top of the basket and skipped off to about 30m away - didn't get the bird. Next round hit it in the middle of the chains, dropped dead next to the basket and I got my 2. I was disappointed as there was a big ace kitty and I didn't get it. But the very next tournament I hit an ace and took the 750$ kitty! cheers, disc please! I would be the envy of the NZ DG scene with a prize disc from the states!
When Nikko growled at the camera, I started laughing uncontrollably. I think it's my fight-or-flight response

Minnesota Boys are always the most fun to watch! SKOL CALE!
What a drive from Nikko on hole 19! Wow! Not to forget the 360 on previous hole. Looks like he is warming up. My ace run story: I was playing alone and caught up a bigger group. They let me drive when they had all already thrown. And then I hit the very top rim of the basket. Would have been cool to get the ace while all those other people were watching but was barely denied.
James Conrad and Paul McBeth are by far my favorite players. Not only due to their skill but patience, sportsmanship and composure.
Sportsmanship!
There’s a hole at our local course that hates me! It’s a 160 foot hole that basically plays up a cliff. On my tee shot, I threw a forehand flex that hit the band and proceeded to roll 100 feet into the OB creek. On my third shot, from about 100 feet, after taking the OB stroke, I hit the band again and the disc rolled straight back and into... the water. For my next shot, I try it again, but I hit a tree and it rolls back. Luckily, it curled before the water. Thankfully, the disc sticks by the basket on my sixth throw. I tap in for a 7. This is no joke. I think it’s the most unlucky series of events ever to happen to me.
Thank you for this! Your commentary about Nikko's calm demeanor cracked me up
Jakes side arm looks inspired by Fred Flintstones twinkle toe bowling shot.
I'm so glad discgolf is back. I've missed watching James Conrad and all the other players too.
have you noticed Conrad walks literally like a little boy after making good puts :) Love it.
I really appreciate you getting out there and covering this card by yourself. You're good people, Terry!
I hit chains off the drive on hole 8 at Willamette Park at least 30 times with a laser forehand line. This was over the course of about 4 years. I CHAINED OUT so many times that the damn octopus maple tree that stands in front of it eventually grew to a point where it that line NO LONGER EXISTS.
Quite enjoyable round and great coverage & commentary. Nice work Terry & guys!
we heard the chains explode from my drive on a blind dog leg left tunnel 280 ft hole. couldnt find my disc. almost called it lost before finding it on top of the basket hidden by the innova chastity belt. so i guess i got the birdie but man it was close to a retee
Nikko is just so much fun to watch! Keep up the great production of tournaments! Thanks for doing it!
Great video Terry...always love you coverage and commentary. Ace run story...Hole 12 at Page Park in Bristol, CT...the throw is over water with the basket approximately 15-20’ away from the pond...hit the band off the drive and it rolls OB into the pond. Throw from drop zone and take the 4...ace run to a 4...totally got in my head for the rest of the round.
Thanks so much! I needed disc golf.
Stellar production and commentary. I’m thoroughly enjoying the coverage.
Regarding your question about sharing my story about hitting the basket off tee and not making my birdie- it certainly happened to me.
Scene: hit basket, disc flew straight up into a tree (15 ft up) oh, and did not come back down. lol. I guess I left it for the “birdies” after all. 😆
Keep up great work!
I had an ace bounce off the top of the basket and skipp 50 feet left. Missed the comeback putt😫 Lovin me some new, original coverage with this one!
THAT GROWL WAS FANTASTIC!!!
THANKS FOR THAT NIKKO!!
I had a disc hit cage and then skip out of bounds. I then missed the comeback we putt and carded a bogey. So frustrating!!! Thanks Terry!
I’ve hit dead center and sat down next to the basket, bit never had a crazy rollaway in that scenario. Guess I don’t hit the chains enough.Awesome coverage! Thanks for getting this out to us
Happy to new Disc Gold Content!! Thank you!
Loved the video and best ace run story was elevated basket at a local course in oregon. Hit the basket and rolled down the hill into a ditch. Then on birdie putt, putting up hill. Hit the top and rolled back to where I was standing
Absolutely! Hole 4 at Willamette Park in Corvallis, OR. It's a wide open RHBH hyzer with OB 30ish feet behind the basket. I still haven't aced it yet, but I've hit metal a couple times and carried OB. I've certainly saved par on one of those, but I've also certainly missed the return putt and carded a bogey. Good times.
That hole was my first ace... In the right-most pin position, with a forehand skip. If I got it, you'll get it someday. Good luck, brother.
Had a couple hit the top of a basket without a flag or a number plate on top and seen it go beyond C1
Thanks for the coverage of this event. If I head to MN in the future, would head there.
This is seriously some of the best single camera coverage on the planet. Thank you, Terry!!
Only Ace Run I’ve ever had has been in cribbage and I came up on the short end of it, too.
Great job Terry! Thanks for all your hard work! Your efforts are truly appreciated.
Thank you for your hard work as well and thank you for giving me some photos to use in the thumbnails!
Great work. Your production quality and commentary are great. Love the channel.
It's nice to start getting coverage again. Thanks to you and the sponsors!
So much wind! Great job out there!
Thank you.
Nikkos spike run was incredible! I've had a couple skip shots with the firebird tickle chains but never had an ace - amazing coverage!
Great coverage as always!! As for hitting metal and not getting birdie....I once glace off the top band and then three putted. Brutal hole for almost an ace.
Great coverage, thank you thediscgolfguy!!!
Awesome coverage! For me it's a local short island hole - hit metal and out of bounds - more often than staying safe.
Thank you bud because I needed some new disc golf coverage. I appreciate your time
Great to see some disc golf tournament coverage - thanks Terry!
Awesome coverage Terry! Thanks for putting this together
Very well done TM ......enjoyed
Thanks for all your work out there creating content for us.
My pleasure man. Thanks for watching and getting on it!
Sup dude, great vids.
My fav ace story was: went out for a round on my bday with my brother and a couple friends. They bought me a glow roc3 and my very first throw was a tunnel shot with the basket a little out of view to the left at the end of the tunnel. I threw a great shot right down the middle and it faded around the corner and all we heard was chains. Went SPRINTING down there and there was my disc, definitely NOT in the basket!! No idea how it popped out cuz it sounded MONEY!
Still chasing my first ace and been playing almost a decade, lol.
This is some of your best coverage to date sir. Nicely done!
Thanks - I appreciate it.
I know it's just one camera and then my commentary but it was great to get back out there and get some fresh content!
Great camera work on #19 for Nikko's shot!
Thanks again, Chef Terry. You cured my craving.
That sounds spicy and I like it!
Terry, I really appreciate your tireless efforts to keep us entertained with high quality content. Thanks, man.
Best ace run disaster story I've got- Great Blue Heron - Hole 4 or 5 - 300 ft hole with the pin setup in the position near the the water. The disc ricochets off the band and lands 20 some feet away in the water. While going to get it a fish swam by my foot, I freaked out thinking it might be a snapping turtle or something and screamed like a girl and jump-fell backwards right into the water, came out soaked but haven't stopped laughing about it since 😂👌
Thanks for the coverage, Terry. Great job.
Thanks for watching Jeff!
Hello Terry,
Here's my ace spit out story that resulted in a par not a birdie...hole 3 long/blind position at Veterans Park in Sylmar, Ca. home of Bamba & Steve Rico and Legacy Disc. Threw a forehand with the Legacy Rampage. Hit chains so hard the disc spit out and rolled about thirty feet past the basket behind a thick bush with no look...boo!
thanks for the coverage Terry! keep it up
Your commentary is always awesome man!!! Awesome round for Nikko!!! That fire round for KJ too
Your commentary is gold. Made me lol a few times when you poke Nikko
I haven’t been playing that long, but I got once very close once to hitting the basket once and it sat down for an easy birdie putt which I probably missed... Great content, keep it up!
Amazing coverage of the tournament! All my splash outs have laid near the basket thankfully
Great coverage! That is the craziest sidearm form I think I have ever seen on an A tier tournament! 7:53
This is awesome love watching helps me with my trick shots
Absolute hilarious and great commentary
Thank you.
Great video Terry, come back to film in Iowa soon! Saw you filming Walnut Ridge one of first few days I learned about disc golf! Conrad, A.j., Callaway, Heimberg, and Geisinger!
Love the coverage. Great stuff
I love niko and I'm a trilogy guy but, I feel like he takes himself out of it when he gets so vocal. I can appreciate his passion and desire to perform well tho. I have definitely not scored the birdie after an ace run many times
Nikko's commentary is fantastic.
I got to play there 4 years ago on a great disc golf trip from Chicago through Madison. And yes, I remember blasting chains on an island hole at LL Woods in Lewisville, TX. Thought I made it to get up there and find it rolled down into a drainage culvert. Clearly missed my par putt coming back
My blind ace run landed on the top of the basket on old hole #5 in Grand Ledge, MI--Nice Deuce!
That 360 by Nikko on 18! Wow I watched that at least 10 times
I have missed watching disc golf soooooo much
Glad to be giving you a little fix then! Thanks for watching.
thanks for all you do
I loved it when Conrad needed to go under the tent for his run up on 19! Bahaha haha
Great coverage Terry!
Terry is cool as a fan. Hope to meet you in person one day. Love the coverage. Thanks for bringing it to us.
“I may have trimmed out an undetermined amount of time there”😂
Isn’t there a time limit to throw?
Still waiting on my first ace, but every time I take a friend with me to try out the sport they end up with at least one insane birdie run!
Me and my son play almost every day I love this game
nice coverage!
The jump putt basket at BRP actually.. hit off the basket and rolled down right into the trees and unfortunately couldn't convert! Great course, fun to watch some big name guys get out there and slay it!
Such a fun card! That basket hit on 19!! 🤙 Great putt!
Edit: haven't hit the basket enough times off the tee to have a problem with it rolling away 😅 Nothing real life at least. Plenty of times in Disc Golf Valley :)
Near ace story for you Terry. I was playing Rosedale up top in KC. Hole number 3, in the long position. I chained straight through and ended up 60 feet down the hill right behind the basket in complete jail. I took a 4.
I can certainly see how that could happen. Heck, were you closer to a 'down under' basket at that point vs the one you were throwing at?
@@thediscgolfguy I was certainly more on down under hole 5 than I was on 3 up top at that point. It was incredibly unfortunate.
I thought Jake's forehand routine was a joke at first...Then he kept doing it XD
Former pitcher maybe? He definitely gets distance.
it is a joke :'D
his signature forehand
Dat windup tho
One of our local courses is called Taylor Mountain. The name could not be more accurate. Everyone that plays there has been hammered by brutal rollaway’s. As you climb down the mountainside, you’ll often hear “Dude, you just got Taylored” being muttered by other players...
Kevin's already in mid season form and I love it. Slowly becoming a favorite (not from your coverave but just in general)
I don't have an ace yet. Twice I've hit metal. The first landed on the right side of the basket, slid across the top and fell off the left side. Tap in birdie. The second was BRUTAL. I threw straight at it, hit chains with too much juice that went about 25 feet past the basket... out of bounds... then missed the comeback putt... Yup, I hit metal off the tee and bogeyed!
JAKE with the Fred Flintstone/ Don Hunkel forehand.... love it
Have I hit chains, fell out and not got the birdie? Basically every damm time. lol. Worst one was on hole 14 at Plamann Park in Wisconsin. I hit the chains dead center, fell out and rolled out of the circle on perfectly flat ground. I'm pretty sure I ended up 3 putting and taking a bogey, but that was like 6 or 7 years ago so I may be making that part up. Haha.
My best / worst ace run was a with a judge from Dynamic Discs... I hit right side of the chains and the disc carried into the pond behind the basket and was gone forever... It was a bitter sweet moment.
I had a throw off the tee in a b tier that went directly into the basket and bounced right back out then rolled 50 feet across flat ground through some bushes and into the OB creek. I took a 4!
I cant believe I'm just now discovering this channel
Thanks for coming by and I hope you enjoyed some of the action.
UMass Dartmouth hole 9, hit the basket a couple inches low with a star destroyer and bounced 40 long. Missed the birdie putt, and probably the par putt as well. Birdogies hit hard sometimes
My friend’s first time playing he got a thumber ace! We couldn’t see the basket but when we heard chains we knew it was in
only ever hit the basked on the first shot once in my short disc golf "career", sat down right next to it, like 5-6 feet, easy birdy^^
Playing at Riverside in St.Cloud or Millstream in Saint Joseph, MN--I hit the basket on 14 or 15, rolled down the little hill thr basket is on into the river... Took my drop and hit the basket and rolled into the water again! Made the next putt for a 5 after almost acing the hole...
Regarding your request about what happened after hitting metal. The guy before me hit the Ace, I threw a similar shot that hit and fell into the basket. However, it was an older basket that allowed my disc to fall in from the top. Easiest birdie I've ever had though.
At least you got the birdie!
Hit the top of a basket once, hole 9 at North Lakes in Denton and watched my disc get jettisoned into a water treatment reservoir. To this day I believe my disc just wanted an out. Never got the disc back but at least I have the memory. It was a Z Buzzz.
When I just started out playing a couple months ago, just learned to flick, and hit the top of basket on 220 ft slight DL right. Well, bc i never practice putting, i missed the 25 footer for birdie lol
I've ended up with a few metal hits that I took a par on. Bounced off the top and rocketed off. My best near ace was an early release. I was trying to hyzer it in nicely, came out early and just beamed straight at the basket, barely missing several trees before hitting the band.
Every time I have tried to Ace and hit metal, I have got the birdie. I don't remember a time when I haven't got the birdie lol. I have tried to ace and did not hit metal and went 30 feet past the basket and missed the putt for a birdie lol. Would love a signature disc!
I love Jake's ninjutsu forehand!
Only hit metal and aced a basket not in play. Great coverage DiscGolf Guy!
There is a short hole at my local course that is so open for the ace. I run it every time and I still haven’t gotten it yet. Hit metal once though.
best ace run, number 11 at ggp. splahed out chains, but still got birdie
Go Nikko! "Is that all you've got!?" I sunk a line drive 135' "putt" last week on a par 4. Yeah, after already throwing 5...
My best chain out story would have to be my first time at Millstream St Joseph and it was about 250 downhill over a pond I believe it's tucked behind a couple of trees and I was so worried about going into the pond i threw a disc I really didn't care about and said you know what oh well threw it, wind carried it, missed the trees and chained out just right it was awesome
Jake lauber legitimately has to be trolling on his forehand walk up routine lololol
Yes hit to band on hole 14 at Seymour Smith in Omaha and carried to the out of bounds creek. I however did not lose the disc.
I don't have a great near ace story from myself but I once saw a guy chain out for an ace and then roll downhill out of bounds. I actually have it on video on my channel. Such a rollercoaaster of emotions lol
