That's a very exclusive Sydney CBD address. No wonder people got hoodwinked with such a High Street location giving them confidence thinking their timepiece can be sold quickly and for a profit by a professional, successful and connected dealer. I agree with our esteemed venetian host Oisin: avoid such geezers. They can often be identified by their heavily tattooed knuckles scraping on the ground behind them and they saunter down the high street, usually dressed in bright Fluro designer garb, often in company with a rotund, short, uncouth and obnoxiously loud man-child screaming into a GoPro.
You are absolutely correct 100% Oisin…..And yes, you could tell by this guy‘s appearance…. He’s not a refined person….! Another scam artist…! Don’t ever sell your watches on consignment ever! Good reporting Oisin…5 ✨
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
Well said. It's remarkable how this sector has evolved since the pandemic. One normally would associate fine Swiss time pieces traded by smart, professional, central Europeans in the manner of a private banker. After Covid, baseball caps, tattoos and vulgarity
Hey O'Malley, you may not like everything I have to say here but ever since Roman started filming the trade shows, it has left a semi bitter taste in my mouth; The way they handle these items that we cherish, it is with no emotions, sure they are some what used to dealing day in day out and therefore, they see it as a business. However. the treatment of watches in these shows has lost some value for me in a lot of these dealers. Another big issue for me is when these guys wear watches they have for sale, that is so unethical. So, yea you are right about the watch world full of cow boys. Online journalists have commented about the market being low, it is a correction in my view because prices went from 0-60 in few months with the help of guys who thought they were in the stock market with high frequency trading. I am so happy with the current state. The industry was fostering investors, rather than true enthusiasts, they are part of the problem.
Funny, about 4 yrs ago I emailed Roman to ask a few questions about a watch and mentioned why do you guys treat watches like crap and throw them around....he just said yes you are right but never really answered my question.
@@GregSmith-pb3gh IT really is off putting, it was really nice to see what goes on. I'd rather go into a so called hated AD and buy a watch whenever I can.
the same muppets who throw around watches like groceries will skin you from the value of the timepiece you want to sell if the caseback is scratched by laying flat on the bracelet. low class scumbags
i’m keeping an eye out for any more news about that business in London about a month ago. spiv salesman committed suicide after what we’re told was a robbery. it may well have been a robbery or they might have been stealing back already stolen watches or Frankenstein watches. it’s great to see these people have lost their watches. it’s hilarious you talking about the tattoos on his hand, yes you are right that’s what you’re dealing with in this day and age.
I hate to say it, but I fear the same. Once the flexing and the flying starts, it just raises red flags. I own my own business and know what travelling like that costs and is there enough money in watch sales to carry all that? Please let me be wrong!
If it looks like crap and smells like crap chances, are it probably is crap . I feel sorry for the pigmy with the tough stickers one day he might meet a guy he ripped off and the tough stickers are not going to save him . Karma is a bitch when it bites back.
Funny thing is a watch market is worst place to do dealls, Im often buying and selling antiques, electronic. all kind of stuff that I can make some money on it, and watches are most risky, brutal, angry, fake, non trusty and ugly market from all of them. People are rude and so many scammers between them. I never buy watches for flipping, always for my self and sometimes I help people with my knowledge and many times they didn't say thank you when they know what they need. This is very ugly and specific market infected by worst people.
Again. Who wants to deal for a time piece like this by a dumpster in the back alley from a guy who just got out jail? Why anyone does business with these charlatans is beyond me.
"Geezers" 7:35 must be some kind of Irish slang for scammer, I assume, since in the U.S. "geezers" refers to old people.

20 years in New York and I never heard a senior citizen referred to as a geezer. It’s more of a British term than Irish. It actually just means a guy but said in certain context, it evokes the image of a shifty looking good-for-nothing on a street corner with a cigarette in his mouth.
Eye opening. I always thought geezer meant old guy 😂

You only need a backpack and a rail pass to become a watch dealer these days?
Buy from an authorised dealer - no where else ever , people are foolish for dealing with people like this

Looks like a fairly respectable young lad. I would definitely give him my luxury watch.

Why are watch dealers always either from the Traveller community or covered in tattoos?
It’s not even Ian Tilman in the picture , news got it wrong
