Hey Everyone! On August 21 I flew back home to New York onboard Lufthansa's aging Airbus A340. I flew on the A340-300 variant which is the shorter version of Lufthansa's bigger A340-600. The -300 variant did not feature a First Class cabin or the new business class cabin, so I was walking into this flight not knowing what to expect. What I found was that the flight was pretty average for a business class product. I was personally disgusted by the First Meal service as the food tasted like it was frozen and smelled terrible. Despite that, this was a relatively pleasant flight.

I've been to this exact same lounge before last month in late October of this year when I flew Condor Business back home to Seattle! I flew LH's A340-600 from Boston to Frankfurt on the way there
I was wondering if they updated the interior to match the 787 and the answer is no. So I will get the newer 787 from Newark this month to Frankfurt but when I return to JFK in early February it will be the old interior 2-2-2 of the A380-600. Appreciate this video as it shows they have done nothing to match the competition in the older aircraft.
Yup... I was expecting this business class but from the photos I never realized how bad it fully is... there really is no privacy and this is a old and delapedated product that has no place in Modern Aviation.
What are “recording abilities” on the scorecard?
It’s (in my terms) how easy it was to record the flight… basically how did the crew put up with my recording and if they hated on me recording or not…
Thanks for your review. I’ve only used Lufthansa’s Business Class once and would agree with your opinion that it was overall just average. Can’t even remember the food so clearly it was nothing special. The crew were fine and I did at least have the advantage of being on a 747. Interestingly my return flight was with their partner Swiss which I preferred. The seat/lie flat bed was more comfortable and the crew very good and responsive.
I've flown a lot with both Lufthansa and SWISS as my annual summer trips to germany often include them in my itinerary. I completely agree that SWISS's product is miles above the old Lufthansa Business Class. It's funny to see how they are often the same exact price during booking.

@@idxluaviation They switch around what planes they use on the JFK-MUC route seasonally, they use the A343, A346 and 748 depending the time of year, and I've seen A333s a few times on that route as well. They also use the A346 to EWR

I think you can plan a trip to Frankfurt with connecting in New-York or Los Angeles for example.
And maybe you’ll a get chance to fly on an A340 OR even on a B747-8!

bad catering! why is Lufthansa still using these old polluting A340's? Is it because of the profit they can make with the also old first class without any privacy? a shame!

Lufthansa has to replace these planes with 787s, but delivery delays do not allow them to remove the A340s from the fleet.... Boeing is delaying with the 787s...
@@Ad-Lo @tjittekamminga5170 im surprised to see an A340 on this route, I thought I haven’t seen any flights using 340s when looking for flights recently. It’ll be over soon, and huge upgrades to the cabins coming soon! They look amazing.
May be old but still one of the most stunning looking aircraft of all time (particularly the 600) and one of the safest aircraft ever.

I am currently not of age in the United States. I wish to wait until I am 21 years old, even though It might be legal in Europe.
Discover Airlines made it to the best premium leisure airline of Germany (in my opinion).
The growth and what they achieved in the last 2 years is just so amazing. Their new livery is breathtaking. I’m so excited to see the new cabins and everything. Discover Airlines is in my opinion better than Condor. Can’t wait to fly with Discover again 😊

Never. I always prefer Condor over Discover and LH. I'm pretty sure you work for Discover. The Condor A330neo is superb and offers a by far better Business Class seat than Lufthansa, let alone Discover. The downside of Condor is the very limited route network, making it almost impossible to use for business travel.
