- My local Taiwanese friend who could speak fantastic Korean showed me the most famous Shilin night market, in Taiwan. We tried stinky tofu(臭豆腐), sweet potato ball(地瓜球), oyster omelet(蚵仔煎), intestine vermicelli noodles(大腸麵線), Tanghulu(冰糖葫芦), cranberry lemon juice, Cheese Shrimp Quail Egg.

I worked in Taipei for 1 year and really enjoyed my time there especiall all the different types of food but NOT smelly tofu! I consider myself adventurous with trying new food but this was one food I hated eeeeuuugghhh!
I see you are heading down the east coast and think you are probably going to the Taroko Gorge which is beautiful. On the way you will go through a small fishing village called Su ao which is very interesting and also a place to see live Chinese Opera.
