Changmin was always pushed as the main dancer even tho it's the two of them that even most of the fans always think of Changmin when it comes to dancing but ever since road to kingdom Juyeon has been getting the main dancer title more which I'm really happy about, finally he's getting the recognition however I wished that both of them got the attention. I do get the Juyeon gets more of the attention tho because aside from the skills he also has the build for it but technique wise Changmin is more versatile and it's not like he's bad looking :((

well we couldn't argue about jukyu being on the top 2 but i honestly couldn't rank sunwoo, eric, hyunjae and haknyeon as they all have different styles and techniques, i think eric excels on sexy dance, sunwoo on hiphop, hyunjae on songs like 'no air' and hak also on hiphop and songs like 'giddy up'. they can all pass as a main dancer tho, they're all very talented🥺
This is actually wrong. Hyunjae and Haknyeon can't pass as main dancers even in another group. Their dancing technique most of the time looks messy. Haknyeon also puts too much effort on his face that makes him look super cringy. But well, what can we wait from him when the main reason he debuted was because he pulled the victim card when the other trainees didn't pick him to be the center in a performance of a survival program?

In my honest opinion as a Dance & Music Instructor for 9 yrs: 1 Q 2 Juyeon 3 Hyunjae / Sunwoo (KSW improved in all aspects) 4 Haknyeon / Eric (despite JHN was a slow learner b4, he can be good & great as the main dancer too, he can do like Eric what Q & JY can't do like difficult stunts) 5 Jacob (my bias, just like ksw, he improved so much, I mean he's now part of dance line even rap) 6 Sangyeon (he's so powerful in stage, he's so professional) 7 Younghoon 8 Kevin / New Yes almost the same to u heehehe
Nice! I agree with everything except that I think Sangyeon is clearly better than Younghoon especially during Chase era, I think his freestyle alone says that haha.
This is the first kpop ranking vid that I actually agree with! I would alter it a bit but it mostly fits my bias of a dancer because I mostly look at how smooth or sharp one person is, sometimes placement, agility in certain dances, and over-dancing or under-dancing. I would def put Kevin in 11th place because although he's improved a lot from what I've seen, he still needs more technique but he seriously is a good dancer if you take out critics. New could be 9th/10th place for me because he has more finesse than I thought; just like you said, he lacks in facial expression which is something Kevin does better but, I absolutely see exactly why you ranked them the way you did. Younghoon would be 10th/9th because although I think he's a bit better than Kevin and New, he doesn't seem to have the flexibility Kevin has or the smoothness New has(I'm probably missing something.) He overall is pretty balanced in facials and technique though. Sangyeon would be 8th because although he has better technique than the 3 aforementioned, he does better with agility, stunts, or moves that requires strength in my opinion. Also, he's def a power based dancer but he doesn't keep up the energy the entire time. it's good he does when he's center or in front though. Jacob would be 7th because I agree with everything you said, I honestly would rank him higher but he does over dance and looks too sharp at times. He also is a little off beat(this is based on the stealer dance clip where he was ahead of the music.) Then he has better stamina. I bet once he finds his comfortable spot he could easily rival spots 4-2. Haknyeon would be 6th/5th to me. I just think he personally can go much further than what he does because he has good control over his body. I say this because I was watching the boyz tik tok video like the beginning of this week, and at the end where he and Eric were dancing, he composed his movements a bit more than Eric although Eric stood out more because he expressed himself better. Sunwoo would be 5th/6th. To me he has great control, agility, and expresses himself more, but it's like he's missing something. I think it's flexibility although he seems flexible to me, and his facial expressions could be more expressive. Hyunjae would be 4th/3rd. He is a really good idol dancer but maybe his leg placements are a bit off to me. Like when he has to move he looks fine but when standing still he seems awkward. Eric would be 3rd/4th. He's just a good dancer and entertainer that's all. He excels in dancing where he doesn't have to move from place to place however, he does just as well in dances that move a lot. His body rolls are out of the world. His placement and facial expressions are so good and he knows how to express how he's feeling when dancing. Juyeon is 2nd, and Q is first. I don't think I need to explain. Sorry for this long wall of text but I really appreciate this vid and although I put out my opinions, I like your ranking much more and I agree with everything you said. You clearly know what you are talking about and when you explained your rankings I could understand where you are coming from. The Boyz are really an underrated group when it comes to dancing. They remind me of Seventeen where even the weaker dancers match nicely alongside the stronger dancers. i remember when i saw them live 2019 and i often caught myself staring at Eric dancing. I thought "omg why do i realize so late, that your dancing is so good?" and it even improved more until now.
Even tho Chanhee is on the low rank as you said - which I understand, his facial expression and gesture when he's at the center or group which on cam, I think is one of the best within all members. Quasi Una Fantasia was one of his bests.
I think juyeon and Q have the same case as itzy yeji and chaeryeong. Yeji and juyeon r more of performers and Q and chaeryeong more of dancers. If u see juyeon , his facial expressions and powerful moves attract u but with Q , his neat moves and smooth , water flow like dance attracts u. U see 😉. It's the same case like itzy so i think i explained pretty well. BTW I'm a new deobi and i must say that EVERY SINGLE TBZ MEMBER IS AN ALL ROUNDER. I'm having a bias crises 😂😭
In my opinion, my top 3 are 1. Q 2. Juyeon 3. Sunwoo (when he is in his element, he literally outshines everyone, he got too much swag!! - watch their cover for TheBoys and HardCarry and u will get what I meant!) hmm actly no.3 is hard to decide, I guess its more like depending on who’s dance style attracts you more.. also I think jacob is a underrated dancer in TBZ, he is v sharp and got v good expressions !
I think the reason why I love haknyeon so much is because I associate with him in terms of dancing style. When I was still dancing I also had a hard time learning choreography and it would bog down my confidence too, making me lose my dance focus quite quickly. I think if Haknyeon had the same opportunities to be center as sunwoo he would be a lot more sharp. Additionally, I think if Haknyeon improved his physicality it would help a lot more. He has good proportions for dance :

i honestly agree that q is one of the underrated dancers in kpop. but for my list it will be 1. Q/ Juyeon- couldnt pick but q is more versatile and sharp while juyeon has longer reach and cooler execution. 2. Sunwoo- he has the "coolest" stage presence 3. Eric- he can be merciless 4. Before saying anything, Chanhee is a good dancer, since he's really executing The Boyz choreographies, which are pretty hard and when you lack skills you can well look really akward. I gotta say that Chanhee, maybe generally, comparingly is a weaker dancer, but I actually really enjoy his stage perfomance, even if he has little opportunity like in The Stealer, where he only got one part, it's my favourite part of the song. He's really good with hand gestures, he knows how to pose perfectly, good angles - that's what makes me enjoy his stage presence. He's a perfect example of an amazing stage presence without needing too much.
I need to agree, Ji Changmin is really a full package as main dancer. I mean he can draw you in when seeing he is dance. Stage presence, skill and expression he killed it .
Yeah, Chanhee's definitely the least dance-oriented member of The Boyz, but he's still a really good dancer especially considering the difficulty of the dances TBZ does and Chanhee being a main vocalist, specifically the main vocalist who is the most focused on vocals and takes a majority of high notes, ad-libs, and is typically very high in line distributions. Just shows how amazing The Boyz are as dancers when their worst dancer is good enough to easily keep up with probably pretty much any 4th gen group choreography
I really respect your opinion and appreciate that you did this video and explained everything about your choises. But I have a question... Why did you mentioned Hyunjae of being in other groups...? I also think he's a really great dance, have a lot of energy, looks very calm and charismatic while dancing. He's the center many times of their songs and he don't luck facial expressions or stage presence. I know that you meant to compliment him by saying he could be a main dancer in other groups.. But I really glad he's in The boyz, He's one of my biases, along with Juyeon.. The boyz are such a lovely members, talented, effortlessly funny, had a lot of energy, passion, good vibes, likes being playful and joking sometimes and such a proffesional kings! when you put Eric at the 3th place I was surprised.. because unfortunately he's most of the times being in the last row and he's in the center only when he raps sometimes.. cause the vocalist getting way more center time and also the two main dancers of course... so I haven't had a chance to recognize he's dancing skills yet like I did with the rest of the dance line.. I need to watch his fancams... but besed of the times I saw him dancing, he seems to be a great dancer! I understand how you ranked them, especially with the explanations and I kind of agree... especially those at the top spots. Specifically what you said about Juyeon.. because it is exactly what happened with me when I watched The Stealer 😂😂 I became a deobi because of him lmao. Even if I am a Sangyeon stan now, I will never forget how Juyeon practically dragged me into the fandom just with his movements in The Stealer. What I love about Juyeon's skill is his body line when he dances. It looks so beautiful and perfect. His angles are perfect. His movements are fluid. Imo, hisheight, long arms and legs added beauty to his movements. Its like I can visualize a smooth, flowy curve when he is dancing. With Changmin, I can agree that he really is the best out of the group. His movements has that power, like every movement of his is so eye-catching. Its like if they're doing 8-counts, his execution is always spot on, and every snap of his movement has an impact. I mean even his aura drastically changes when he dances! Its mind-blowing! Overall, I agree that there are no bad dancers in TBZ, its just that they all are different in skill, versatility and how they execute the movements. But AS A WHOLE GROUP, also considering their synchronization and concepts, they are pretty much one of the best dancers/performers of their generation. Like you can never go wrong with The Boyz! They really are special. :)

New could be 9th/10th place for me because he has more finesse than I thought; just like you said, he lacks in facial expression which is something Kevin does better but, I absolutely see exactly why you ranked them the way you did.
Younghoon would be 10th/9th because although I think he's a bit better than Kevin and New, he doesn't seem to have the flexibility Kevin has or the smoothness New has(I'm probably missing something.) He overall is pretty balanced in facials and technique though.
Sangyeon would be 8th because although he has better technique than the 3 aforementioned, he does better with agility, stunts, or moves that requires strength in my opinion. Also, he's def a power based dancer but he doesn't keep up the energy the entire time. it's good he does when he's center or in front though.
Jacob would be 7th because I agree with everything you said, I honestly would rank him higher but he does over dance and looks too sharp at times. He also is a little off beat(this is based on the stealer dance clip where he was ahead of the music.) Then he has better stamina. I bet once he finds his comfortable spot he could easily rival spots 4-2.
Haknyeon would be 6th/5th to me. I just think he personally can go much further than what he does because he has good control over his body. I say this because I was watching the boyz tik tok video like the beginning of this week, and at the end where he and Eric were dancing, he composed his movements a bit more than Eric although Eric stood out more because he expressed himself better.
Sunwoo would be 5th/6th. To me he has great control, agility, and expresses himself more, but it's like he's missing something. I think it's flexibility although he seems flexible to me, and his facial expressions could be more expressive.
Hyunjae would be 4th/3rd. He is a really good idol dancer but maybe his leg placements are a bit off to me. Like when he has to move he looks fine but when standing still he seems awkward.
Eric would be 3rd/4th. He's just a good dancer and entertainer that's all. He excels in dancing where he doesn't have to move from place to place however, he does just as well in dances that move a lot. His body rolls are out of the world. His placement and facial expressions are so good and he knows how to express how he's feeling when dancing.
Juyeon is 2nd, and Q is first. I don't think I need to explain.
Sorry for this long wall of text but I really appreciate this vid and although I put out my opinions, I like your ranking much more and I agree with everything you said. You clearly know what you are talking about and when you explained your rankings I could understand where you are coming from. The Boyz are really an underrated group when it comes to dancing. They remind me of Seventeen where even the weaker dancers match nicely alongside the stronger dancers. If you didn't look hard enough you wouldn't really notice a difference.

Eric is way too overlooked for his dancing within in the fandom. Boi got the cleanest, sharpest, and smoothest moves I have seen in a while
i remember when i saw them live 2019 and i often caught myself staring at Eric dancing. I thought "omg why do i realize so late, that your dancing is so good?" and it even improved more until now.
Changmin is the type of main dancer who makes you wanna cry whenever you watch him. The amount of passion that he have 🥹

I think juyeon and Q have the same case as itzy yeji and chaeryeong. Yeji and juyeon r more of performers and Q and chaeryeong more of dancers. If u see juyeon , his facial expressions and powerful moves attract u but with Q , his neat moves and smooth , water flow like dance attracts u.

I think the reason why I love haknyeon so much is because I associate with him in terms of dancing style. When I was still dancing I also had a hard time learning choreography and it would bog down my confidence too, making me lose my dance focus quite quickly. I think if Haknyeon had the same opportunities to be center as sunwoo he would be a lot more sharp. Additionally, I think if Haknyeon improved his physicality it would help a lot more. He has good proportions for dance :

1. Q/ Juyeon- couldnt pick but q is more versatile and sharp while juyeon has longer reach and cooler execution.
2. Sunwoo- he has the "coolest" stage presence

4. Haknyeon/ Hyunjae- has good dance lines just needs a lil bit more presence which is there alr.

Changmin changmin changmin. Just the bestest, underrated dancer of 4th gen.
i kind of like Juyeon better because of his build, but there's no denying that Changmin is extremely talented
Before saying anything, Chanhee is a good dancer, since he's really executing The Boyz choreographies, which are pretty hard and when you lack skills you can well look really akward. I gotta say that Chanhee, maybe generally, comparingly is a weaker dancer, but I actually really enjoy his stage perfomance, even if he has little opportunity like in The Stealer, where he only got one part, it's my favourite part of the song. He's really good with hand gestures, he knows how to pose perfectly, good angles - that's what makes me enjoy his stage presence. He's a perfect example of an amazing stage presence without needing too much.

Yeah, Chanhee's definitely the least dance-oriented member of The Boyz, but he's still a really good dancer especially considering the difficulty of the dances TBZ does and Chanhee being a main vocalist, specifically the main vocalist who is the most focused on vocals and takes a majority of high notes, ad-libs, and is typically very high in line distributions. Just shows how amazing The Boyz are as dancers when their worst dancer is good enough to easily keep up with probably pretty much any 4th gen group choreography
in my opinion juyeon's long limbs help with the execution. it gives a different better effect

when you put Eric at the 3th place I was surprised.. because unfortunately he's most of the times being in the last row and he's in the center only when he raps sometimes.. cause the vocalist getting way more center time and also the two main dancers of course... so I haven't had a chance to recognize he's dancing skills yet like I did with the rest of the dance line.. I need to watch his fancams... but besed of the times I saw him dancing, he seems to be a great dancer!
Juyeon is one of my biases and his dancing is just insane, so powerful, energetic, elegant, stable, looks very clean to me and his facial expressions and stage presence are also great! I do agree that when I saw him and Q dancing side by side I felt that he has to lower himselfe sometimes.. because of his height and becasue of that his dancing was slow and a little after the time compared to Q. I agree that the height can affected things.. like me that I'm pretty short and someone who's very tall. But overall... the two of them can ranked at the first place..

I understand how you ranked them, especially with the explanations and I kind of agree... especially those at the top spots. Specifically what you said about Juyeon.. because it is exactly what happened with me when I watched The Stealer 😂😂 I became a deobi because of him lmao. Even if I am a Sangyeon stan now, I will never forget how Juyeon practically dragged me into the fandom just with his movements in The Stealer.
What I love about Juyeon's skill is his body line when he dances. It looks so beautiful and perfect. His angles are perfect. His movements are fluid. Imo, hisheight, long arms and legs added beauty to his movements. Its like I can visualize a smooth, flowy curve when he is dancing.
With Changmin, I can agree that he really is the best out of the group. His movements has that power, like every movement of his is so eye-catching. Its like if they're doing 8-counts, his execution is always spot on, and every snap of his movement has an impact. I mean even his aura drastically changes when he dances! Its mind-blowing!
Overall, I agree that there are no bad dancers in TBZ, its just that they all are different in skill, versatility and how they execute the movements. But AS A WHOLE GROUP, also considering their synchronization and concepts, they are pretty much one of the best dancers/performers of their generation. Like you can never go wrong with The Boyz! They really are special. :)
