the tutorial was very educative ,because i can now code from the qualitative data provided.

This has helped me immensely with my understanding towards SPSS! The professor mentioned I COULD use SPSS to do my verbatim analysis. As a qualitative person, I was very confused. I was planning to do it by hand, but using SPSS seems like it will save so much of my time! I guess what's selling me most is the reference count on that table. If things don't work out with SPSS, at least I've learnt about a new programme :)

Hi, I have 10 open ended questions, and I have transcribed them with me giving follow up questions within some of the 10 qns. Should I use InVivo to analyze codes for each of the 10 qns separately or lump them all together by the participant?

They should be coded separately as for open ended questions it's about the patterns in the data i.e. what is coming up from the participants rather than individual perspectives like you'd have in an interview. I hope this helps!
