Hi Alex! I'm sorry to hear about all your losses this week, but don't beat yourself up about it because u have become so good at this hobby! See ya next wèk Alex! 😀👍👍
I highly recommend Phosphate Rx, a couple drops into the skimmer chamber based on an online calculator and it'll reduce your phosphates over night really easily. It also does not affect Alk levels like how other Lanthanum products do.
Have you thought about introducing Mollies to you sump frag tank? Depending on the flow, they can adapt to saltwater and are great at eating algae. They have to be slowly acclimated though for success. 👍🇬🇧
my tank is around 7 months old and had coraline algae growing, my phosphate is quite high 0,25 , nitrate 50+ and sps always die 2 weeks after introduce to the tank, but i see your tank with 0,6 phos and your acros seems pretty good, does older tank tolerate higer phos?
50 is very high and you want to aim for much lower phosphate for SPS. But your salinity, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium lighting and flow need to be right too. If you just follow the basics, you'll do well. You should also avoid wild collected SPS at first - they're far more likely to die than home grown frags.
I was looking for the update after you reduced your phosphate from 0.6 to 0.08. Any noticeable improvement in the coloration of the sps? My current po4 is also around 0.5. Do you recommend me to try to drop it to 0.08 or lower? thanks.
Alex, how do you manage to vacuums your gravel with so many corals around, I find I get a lot of detritus especially round the base of my rocks, hence why I am wondering how you manage 🤷🏻♂️
@@ReefDork wow, and you don’t get any problems by not vacuuming? I have struggled with high nitrates only to be told I don’t vacuum my sand enough. That’s amazing 👍
Ive been thinking of adding a reactor for a while. Its a 260ltre tank. Any suggestions of how much roaphos to run to start off with. Phosphate is at 0.3. nitrates are close to zero
I've never cleaned it - it's mostly ended up in a few places where my wrasse sleep, and where my jawfish and pistol shrimp live. So they probably stir the sand to some point, although it'd probably be better if I cleaned it myself...
I wonder if Alex will end up with a Roller Mat.. I mean, Chaeto isn't working to reduce phosphates..and i'm sure Alex is feeding heavy. I wonder if a roller mat is the answer..i'm seriously considering it in my future dream tank

Good to have you along 🙏
Unbelievable all that SPS!! 😍
Your reef is indeed looking great.
Alex your tank is looking more and more beautiful everytime I see a new video! Also that white tail Kole Tang is stunning!
I love your earmuff wrasse. I’ve been having one of my LFS’ look for one for me for months with no luck so far
That view from the end of the peninsular 🔥
Beautiful tank man. Can’t wait to get my 40g breeder up and running.
Looking great man! That topdown view is AWESOME
Your tank is looking fantastic Alex!

Your reef’s looking awesome! Cheers 🍻
My man worried at phosphate at o.6 omg 😱 I’m sure my tank runs at 2.0 but the state of my tank shows that,, great tank Alex 🙃
I rather like the way that the Montis and Acros are colliding. Nice effect
I would love to see a video on all your fish!
The tank is looking sweet mate 😀👍🏽
I hope one day my tank will look really good like yours
Enjoy all your videos 👍🏼

Great video Alex.

Actually, that's not a bad idea 👍
I like this idea, not sure how you would make sure they definitely stay in one area of the sump though

I need to get some frags from You .
Where do you get your magnetic frag racks from?
excellent quality video! What camera do you use?
Fuji XT-3
I need to hit you up for some frags one day!!

I haven't managed to consistently keep it that low unfortunately - it's round 0.20 at the moment and coming down slowly...
I know I am a bit late on this video. Do you know what media reactors they are? and where you can find them?
Probably tmc reef filter nano
Did it work? Phosphates down now? Corals coloured up?
Your tank is looking amazing we’re can I buy some of your frags from if your selling
I only sell locally in Surrey at the moment but that could change soon...

I don't 😬

@@alfst5546 it's definitely best practice - maybe some of my corals would be more vibrant if I was more on it 🤷♂️
I couldn't understand what you said your phosphate was can you tell me ? Was it 0.09?
Good looking tank, what size is it? I have a 90 that's about 18 month old, fish do great but I suck with coral
24x24x50
HI REEF DORK I LOVE YOU
😅
Its really coming on now buddy im playing catchup lol

Maybe a cm or two in your reactor then test again.
I think Rowaphos is the most expensive form of GFO in the states. Why do you chose this brand over a generic, and cheaper, GFO? Thanks.
No good reason - I'm just a sucker for marketing 🙈
Is 4 months really necessary do you think it’s fine to attempt this in one month
Everything is better slowly in a reef tank!
Tank looking sweet ass looking forward to see ur frag tank setup 👍🏽
How do you clean your sand bed? Or do you leave it to your CUC?
I've never cleaned it - it's mostly ended up in a few places where my wrasse sleep, and where my jawfish and pistol shrimp live. So they probably stir the sand to some point, although it'd probably be better if I cleaned it myself...
@@ReefDork you are a legend mate, keep the videos coming 👍🏻
Good luck
When well you do an update of your skimmer???
It's awesome!
I wonder if Alex will end up with a Roller Mat..
I mean, Chaeto isn't working to reduce phosphates..and i'm sure Alex is feeding heavy.
I wonder if a roller mat is the answer..i'm seriously considering it in my future dream tank
Already got one! X filter 1.0 🙂
Did you do water changes?
Yep, 10% a week without fail 🙂
I wonder what was available in the 19th century for a successful reef tank
How big is the tank
50x24x24
I never liked rows a bit over priced I use gfo not fluidised I keep it about 50 ppb
Get nt labs phosphate remover. It drops ur phosphates super quickly
Slow and steady wins the race 🙂
Hey, big boy!
go with halides ..
How would one go about procuring a frag or two from you? 😃 love some of the zoas in particular 😍
P.s. I always look forward to your videos. Genuinely my favourite channel for honest, relevant advice.
I sell on Ultimate Reef but I should be stepping up my game in the coming months...
@@ReefDork what’s your handle on UR? I’ve not signed up yet, but will be now 😂
