@@mitchellvandenbrink even on a non syncronised box a blip would be an indicator of a missed shift. time it right on the way up the cogs and you dont need a blip.
It's just a way to make gear changes slightly smoother, not necessary but makes lifting the clutch up not so jerky. Old Scania gearboxes are really slow in general, especially changing from high range to low range
