I have a question for what I hope you'll do a quick tip on. How do you frame a stretched canvas? I've painted several paintings, and I don't see frames that would work.
Suzanne, I will put your request on our filming schedule. The framing issue is controversial. Some painters just attempt to "pretty up" their paintings by putting highly decorative frames on them. But a frame should isolate a painting from its environment, but not compete with the painting. But that is just a portion of the story. Most folks who buy paintings will frame reframe it if they don't like a frame the artist has chosen. We can't do anything about that, but my advise is to use a standard frame for all your paintings--something that presents it with professional taste and artistic integrity--something that compliments the painting but doesn't compete with it.
