Not sure whz my previous comment was deleted. I merely said that train specific restriction in case of sparpreis ticket is lifted in case the train is delayed by 20 minutes or more. But one has has to make new reservations, if applicable. I have done that a couple of time. But yes, I|d nice if one should have generous time margin to account for any delay. But don't panik if you face a similar situation. Just approach any DB staff.

That’s why we suggested to have a flexi ticket when arriving for the first time as moving around with a lot of luggage is simply a headache after a long flight. Yes DB would provide you with a Taxi Schein or Hotel Schein in case you miss the connections, but it’s just better to avoid this situation overall

Once you have the grade try to connect with some students via LinkedIN to get to know their profiles to understand where would your profile stand. Your Work experience would help for sure, wish you all the best
