Half my party distrusts Strahd. The other half kinda like him and are trying to wingman for the guy.
It’s kinda amusing hearing them go back and forth about the benefits of being with Strahd. Lol
haha hey, the guys rich, has a cool house, and the promise of immortality is there. what more could you ask for haha
The only thing i wouldn't do is make Strahd turn her, i would make her jump off the cliff in an time of destraction (maybe a planned moment by her), so she jumps from the cliff and disapears in the mists to never be found again. Because it is Strahd's curse, and somehow he should know that the only way everything goes right for him is when she WANTS to be with him... what she would not. So, it would be a tragic moment, and maybe Strahd goes rampage and begins to atack everyone, throw his spowns over the gests and so on.

Exactly. If Ireena doesn't do something dramatic, the Dark Powers are going to intervene and kill her. A lightning strike against the castle making a ceiling beam fall and impale her, or a bit of a landslide happens and the part of the castle she's standing off falls. A meteor coming down and making it the Crater of Ravenloft would happen before they'd allow them to be wed. Then you're left with Strahd's rage. He flooded an entire town before, what would he do now?

Dinner with Strahd is happening this week in the game im running. They havent killed the hags yet but have encountered them 3 times. The hags have been draining health from a couple of PCs... A dead PC will be a zombie, serving wine to them. I like the idea of having the impromptu wedding after dinner just to push the characters to make a choice. Ireena was captured a couple of sessions ago at the feast of St Andrel. Valaki is a cinder as the cultists have taken over and have hung the Valakovich family. Izek was murdered by the party, early on. Any ally they have found is either dead or succumb to Strahd's machinations. They hate Strahd and they hate Rahadin. ..I like the idea of putting Rahadin in their face and berating them for improper attire and warning them of any funny business. Strahd's whole point to this dinner is to show them that their fight is hopeless and that theit downfall is inevitable.

@@NoFunAllowed I hope so. We have 8 PCs and their all 7th level. The only item they have found is the Tome. The hard part is figuring out what they will do. They are getting tough but are still very scared of Strahd. Ive taken great care to have him show up several times and antagonize them. No one has yet to raise a hand to him.
My party also has a seething hatred for Rahadin. At the moment he’s more they’re focus than Strahd. Rahadin has kinda become the main villain in a round about way in my game.
@@gaz4553 awesome! In my game, Rahadin has assinated one PC. (Player/ DM collaboration) and kidnapped another. I made him a fighter/assassin.
Ireena just got taken in a near tpk, while the party was exploring the castle. They are planning a rescue so there may or may not be a wedding in the future. I'm excited about either outcome.

One of my players agreed to a deal with stradh during the dinner to betray the party and invite stradh into the house they are staying in at kresk, so next session ireena is going to be kidnapped and the next day rahadin will ride into town and announce the wedding, I’m excited to see the chaos unfold there

Whats soooo crazy, is my players fated final location is the chapel, annnd a few sessions ago after retrieving the bones of Saint Andral (almost a tpk, with 1 death) 1 player actually charmed Ireena and had her go with Strahd so this is definitely going to be the fianle for my group lol
You know what would make the wedding more dramatic is if one of the PC’s was put into the position of the bride either by Ireena herself or as a ploy to stop Strahd. I know that my character in one campaign is designed designed with a backstory as a noble in an arranged marriage to someone in Strahd’s court. This could raise the stakes and reveal how close the party is to each other. If my party let me die or be turned what does that say about them? If at least one person manages to save me then it says something else. What do you think about having a PC in ireena’s position?

@@NoFunAllowed So far my party has let me die twice and get badly injured at least once. On top of that I am apparently the most hated person in Barovia and the only female in my party. My dm says that I am hated by NPC's because of my clerical power, status as a noble, charisma and beauty. Some of my friends even say that I created the "perfect victim" character and someone who Strahd would definitely pay attention to.
Interestingly we recently got two new players. Both of these players created vampire characters, one of which is Alexander Von Roeyen (second brother to Strahd and forgotten prince of Barovia). Alexander is an interesting character who actually started out as a joke character named Alucard. Through a lot of RP and character development he learned how to unlock his more noble side thanks to my character, the princess of Neverwinter, Zelda. In fact, Alexander is very fond of Zelda and often tries to protect her from Strahd and his minions. If a wedding at Castle Ravenloft did occur I get the feeling it would play out similarly to Tatyana and Sergei with the added political scandal of Zelda and Alexander falling in love despite Alexander not being Zelda’s fiancé.
I just started running CoS and I already have the wedding planned out, they come to the chapel, chaos happens, and they run to face down strahd in the throne room, Ireena will get the final attack screaming "you'll never have me." as she stakes him in the heart. I'm so excited!
Irina killed herself to scape Strad once, I think it would be apropriate for her to do it again, she may stab herself, or swallow a bomb, would be verry funny (and macabre) if Irena decide to make the wedding a Kamikaze attack on Strad.
Definitely planning a wedding - this is likely going to be crazy. Cant wait to see how it turns out.
