they're dressing alike. just see what they're both wearing...I do love that style of clothes on Chris Pine though :) I do love the film. brilliant sequel. J.J. Abrams did an amazing job. & their performances made me cry..:')
GREAT interview mechanic and REALLY WELL edited. Watched about 3 or 4 unscripted vids and thoroughly enjoyed them. A sub from me. I'll see what else Moviefone has to offer.
said that the Passage episode of BattleStar Galactica featuring Kat and other sick, vomiting Viper Jocks were the most accurate depictions of fighter pilots he'd seen on the screen, TV or film. In fact, you'll find a lot of things that were able to comment on a lot of the themes of the shadow side of America's War on Terror all throughout BSG in a way very reminiscent of Star Trek commenting on the Vietnam War and other issues of the day... only much, much darker. Amazing what you can do
"4:20" - i define 'magic making' as touching someone's heart (used to sing, for years.. in Choir) while artists dont often create something tangible (grow food, nail wood together to make table, make clothes etc) it's so amazing what one moment can do.. illuminates, clarifies, encourages, touches, consoles... etc. Making magic is impt Mr Pine; do cont the great work of magic-making! =)
People felt connected to Lost because it was about very recognizable, ordinary people in extraordinarily unfamiliar circumstances with little to no answers accessible anywhere. And Heroes was about similar such ordinary people thinking they can do a d-mned thing about it. ... ... the battles between Sylar and Peter were epic, btw (or at least they should have been).
I suppose Lost, intentional or not, kind of comments on America's sense of a general mood of dread and lack of transparency or answers during that time.
WWII fighter plane battles. Taken to describe the grittiness of actual dogs fighting. Cry havok, and let loose the dogs of war. Christ, dude, that was the whole plot of Top Gun and Ace Combat. Modern fighter jets are so sleek and streamlined that the lost art of plane-to-plane combat has been lost. Starbuck's crazy, rebellious Viper Jock in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica is a perfect example (which creates natural tension with Lee Adama's boy scout rebel). Hell, actual WWII veterans
Have you seen Wrath of Khan? Khan is an Asian name, yet Ricardo Montalban was Mexican. Plus, Khan was apparently imagined as a very Nordic looking person, which is why they say Benedict was so good for the role.
I don't know..the Enterprise would probably win. It has target lock and doesn't need Manuel operating, making it easier for the Enterprise to pound it with thousands of phaser blasts. Second...yes the falcon is smaller. meaning it would be less difficult to bull into it's tractor beam AND a single proton-torpedo could blow it.
Although the make-up was horrendous in Cloud Atlas, I don't think it was racist. The whole idea of Cloud Atlas was that history repeats itself, and to show the audience that characters, even if they are in a different era, they are still the same person, they used the same actors repeatedly. Jim Sturgess wasn't the only one who had 'asian' make-up, Duna and Halle Berry also had 'caucasian' make-ups in the film. Also the characters didn't talk like the stereotypical 'asians' as Mr Yunioshi.
jj didn't write the movie though, he just directed it. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman wrote both movies. JJ produced and directed them. So…your point isn't really valid? sorry lol
It's a true fact. They tried to get Benicio del Toro for the role before they casted Benedict Cumberbatch. THE CHARACTER IN STAR TREK LORE WAS INDIAN TOO! It's not a stereotype. Will you stop saying everything is racist?
Kahn can not be a racial stereotype since as a fictional character he was genetically enhanced/altered with an Indian heritage and according to STID a possibly British mix. He was originally supposed to have come out of Asia which is also a very general term geographically. There's nothing stereotypical about any of that.
the question about the dog fight is kinda lame. the person is thinking about starships as "airplanes" too much when in reality (atleast in most Sci-Fi universes) Starships battles are more like naval battles than anything else.
1) what does the fact that he's gay have to do with anything? and 2)We learned about WWII in school, and Dogfights were a pretty memorable part of the War. Also, there were a bunch of cultural references, most prominently Snoopy..
He's obviously not interested in flighter planes... Also, I think we forget that, in spite of the apparently mature, highly-informed personas these actors portray on-screen, they are human after all... And he is "gay"...
I found this soo hilarious :D coming from spock, obviously dogfights are not that "logical" in the Vulcan vernacular...but JJ handled it really well I thought....i just love his reaction :D
You know both conclusions are entirely valid and nothing new to Hollywood. One "classic" example is Mr. Yunioshi from Breakfast at Tiffany's. The character was a horrid racial stereotype of Japanese people. Casting a Japanese actor to play him doesn't change the fact that the character is a racial stereotype. However, the character was played by a white man in yellow face a la Cloud Atlas. 2 presentations of racism. Same with Kahn. A racial stereotype yet played by a white man yet again.
The fact that you assume that Benedict Cumberbatch's acting talent is the issue speaks very highly of your ignorance. Yes, Benedict Cumberbatch is a superb actor. I love his work on Sherlock. If orgasm had a voice, it would be his. But its not about him. It's about the fact that the filmmakers and the viewing public don't see anything remotely problematic of casting a white male to play an obvious character of colour. A group who are already underrepresented in media. You give me a break!
Agreed......the new Star Trek movies are essentially just a generic space action film with a few costumes, ship designs, and proper nouns from a far superior series of stories grafted onto them. There's not reason for them to _be_ Star Trek. Other than that people know what Star Trek is and pay money for stuff they know/what is familiar over that which is not. For all the talk of different cultures and races....there's pretty much only one in these movies: Western human culture. .
I will stop calling out obvious racism when everyone and everything stop being racist. And i don't mean people calling each other racially derogatory words. But rather the institutionalized and systematic racism that allows a white man to play a person of colour. You should ask yourself why you are so eager to deny that this is racism? I don't go around assuming every white person is a racist. Why do you assume every criticism is a lie? I liked the film while still acknowledging the obvious.
This made me want to watch the new one even less. JJ Abrams should never have been associated with Star Trek, as he admitted, he doesn't even like it! He thinks it is "too philosophical". He doesn't know a damn thing about it, that is why he made this bull shit "pocket universe" and just throws a ton of recycled Trek window trimming and catch phrases together, covers it with lens flare and calls it a ST movie.
I would be very concerned if Kahn the way he was written was cast as Indian. The character was a stereotype. BC and his dreamy voice disguised how shit the character was. POC don't mind POC cast as villains as long as they were written as complex and non -stereotypeical. Your "fact" about them trying to cast an Indian is false and you know it. Stop bending over backwards to defend racism. A remake of WOK as a sequel was lazy and uninspired to begin with given the creativity of the reboot.
I love the fact that the weirdiest question to Zach was the walking around naked with the spock ears on was asked by JONATHAN ROSS!!!!
SOOO GLAD you brought back these unscripted interviews, love them!
Zachery: What the hell is a dog-fight
Chris: that's clearly not logical hahahaha
"is it a drag race?" haha i love zachary!
they're dressing alike. just see what they're both wearing...I do love that style of clothes on Chris Pine though :) I do love the film. brilliant sequel. J.J. Abrams did an amazing job. & their performances made me cry..:')
I like how after Zachary says the weird question he's been asked, Chris Pine says, "Okay, well..." ;)
Part of the reason why I love Stark Trek so much is because of this cast, they're just so great together. JJ Abrams is like a little kid :) love it!
Zachary sound congested, Chris looks like he can take a nap on the floor, and JJ looks over caffeinated . But it still rocks.
That's not Zachary Quinto, that's Sylar after the series finale!
Quinto seems a barrel of laughs.
he is!
Agreed. These are always great videos and it's always refreshing when they come up while searching for actor/movie interviews.
"Im Zaaaaachary Quinto"
A dog fight between the Millennium Falcon and the enterprise is like a dog fight between a battleship and a speed boat.
UGH CHRIS'S HAIR. AWESOME
Aw! They're so adorable!
Am I the only one that noticed that chris pine's shoes matched the chairs?
Check the two of them doing a Audi car commerical. Freakin awesome.
GREAT interview mechanic and REALLY WELL edited. Watched about 3 or 4 unscripted vids and thoroughly enjoyed them. A sub from me. I'll see what else Moviefone has to offer.
"What is a dogfight, is it like pitbulls?" Hhahah that's hilarious xD
Mr. Moviefone actually calls in to one of the radio stations over here, and he's pretty fucking awesome.
said that the Passage episode of BattleStar Galactica featuring Kat and other sick, vomiting Viper Jocks were the most accurate depictions of fighter pilots he'd seen on the screen, TV or film.

+Meiyi Well said! :)
PLEASE do an extended Hangover 3 one!!
That was great! Thanks! STID is a fantastic movie!!! ;) And Spock is my all time fave!
Thanks for watching! We have more planned :)
I suppose Lost, intentional or not, kind of comments on America's sense of a general mood of dread and lack of transparency or answers during that time.
Okay I got it, not boring people, just bad day boring interview. You got it.
Great team.

Don't feel bad about not knowing what a dogfight is, Zachary. You know everything else.
pine's review with two epics is correct.
You can tell why JJ Abrahams is a director.
Good show by all !
I really hope they do a Borg story in a ST film
Have you seen Wrath of Khan? Khan is an Asian name, yet Ricardo Montalban was Mexican. Plus, Khan was apparently imagined as a very Nordic looking person, which is why they say Benedict was so good for the role.

It blows my mind that Zach didn't know what a dogfight is.
How hungover were they when they shot this?
Although the make-up was horrendous in Cloud Atlas, I don't think it was racist. dem shoes!
Battlestar Galactica tells the story of the time from the perspective of the people at the top.
And Doctor Who... well, you know. :)
Boom!
JJ Abrams is funny
Benny should be there!!
Zachery: what is a dog-fight...? .......you mean actual dogs........?
jj: nooooooo! not actual dogs (ahahaahaha)
Christ Pine is quite the talker, isn't he.
Is Pine getting ready to play Kyle Katarn?
jj didn't write the movie though, he just directed it. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman wrote both movies. JJ produced and directed them. So…your point isn't really valid? sorry lol
HAHAHA literally my favorite part of this video.
hahah it would be Jonathan Ross that asked Zachary Quinto if he ever wore the Spock ears whilst naked.
It's a true fact. They tried to get Benicio del Toro for the role before they casted Benedict Cumberbatch. THE CHARACTER IN STAR TREK LORE WAS INDIAN TOO! It's not a stereotype. Will you stop saying everything is racist?
OMG I love Chris
where do you send in question to ask?
Jonathan Ross asked Zachary if he wore the ears while naked at home lol
How do you guys get all these awesome poeple on your channel???? :O
Kahn can not be a racial stereotype since as a fictional character he was genetically enhanced/altered with an Indian heritage and according to STID a possibly British mix. He was originally supposed to have come out of Asia which is also a very general term geographically. There's nothing stereotypical about any of that.
Both the actor, and the character have no emotion. Perfect fit - he also looks like spock. Works so well.
"I'm Za-achary quinto"
"First of all I apologize for my hair" was the only funny and interesting thing is this whole video! :D
the question about the dog fight is kinda lame. the person is thinking about starships as "airplanes" too much when in reality (atleast in most Sci-Fi universes) Starships battles are more like naval battles than anything else.
they seem tired
Question: Leonard nimoy was in the first film, did he give you any pointers for playing spock?
Zachery: umm.....don't talk about dog-fights...!.xO
how am I suppose to get the celebs to answer my questions. :(
My mistake. Toro is hispanic. Just like Ricardo was.
Every consider that maybe Cumberbatch was the best man for the role? Give me a break.
you should do one with henry cavill for man of steel :)
More Unscripteds!
5:58

"is it a drag race?" ahahaha
Aaaaannnd then there's Twilight.
You really don't want me analyzing that series. Dear god.
ok please make this^^ true!!!
zach and chris dress alike. :)
"What is a dogfight?"
... ...
... ... ... ... With respect, you, sir, need to watch "Top Gun."
He's obviously not interested in flighter planes... Also, I think we forget that, in spite of the apparently mature, highly-informed personas these actors portray on-screen, they are human after all... And he is "gay"...
what is a dog-fight...? you mean actual dogs.....?.....you mean a drag-race.....? :O
I found this soo hilarious :D coming from spock, obviously dogfights are not that "logical" in the Vulcan vernacular...but JJ handled it really well I thought....i just love his reaction :D
you spend way to much time watching these interviews lol
Why is Zachary Quinto wearing his father's (ill-fitting) threads from the 70s? Is this a lucky charm situation?
No, he/she won't. Let it be, you know what to do for foolish talk...
chris pine seems like sick !
the enterprise would win.... what a stupid question.
speak up captain
