This episode easily became one of the best in the entire series... The battle royal between the kids is one of my favorite scenes this season and followed by the fight between Johnny and Mike...it just kept getting better and better! Can't wait for the next episode reaction yall...
This is in fact one of the WORST episodes, not of the series but of the season so far. So much bad and forced writing. Mike Barnes purposely not giving Devon a chance and ignoring her for no reason and it never being explained. Devon going completely out of character and spiking Kenny’s drink bc of Mikes unexplained grudge. Unecessarily embarrassing Kenny by making him 💩 himself in front of everyone. Nerfing Hawk once again by making him lose to Demetri. The Johnny and Mike fight is the only good part of this episode.
@aaronpaulo7533 It was unexplained. She won the strength test against the guys but literally got ignored by Barnes but then he congratulates Kenny for catching the chicken. Then when it’s time to announce the final 12, he sighs and gives an attitude when he has to announce her name as if he didn’t want to pick her. He didn’t treat anybody else like he treated her. I agree that Devon isn’t good enough to be in the top 6 bc there are better fighters but why is it that he wasn’t giving Devon any props when she performed better than some of the remaining fighters like Demetri. Her winning the strength test was looked over and the only thing we get close to an explanation is we when Johnny confronts Barnes about Devon and he asks if she’s new to karate and says that maybe it’s not for her. Barnes himself even admits that he wasn’t giving Devon a fair shake once Johnny beats him in their fight and it’s never explained why he wasn’t giving her a fair shake. He was treating her noticeably different than everyone else and it’s never fully explained why he targeted her and literally nobody else in the dojo.
@@KingDJ3TV she was the endurance, not strength test. in fact, she prob ended up last in the strength test. he clearly saw tht she was just not good enough bcos she just came from cobra kai and is new as heck to miyagi do and her performance is being hindered by the conflicting philosophies. that was clear when they had a flashback of her time training w johnny and ck. plus barnes literally explained why he thought so to johnny right bfor the fight. this episode was peak ck as well. some ppl just can discern simple plot points and whine about everything
@@saileshnaidu8102 It’s not “whining” it’s called constructive criticism. You can have your opinion that the first five episodes were peak but in my opinion, this is the weakest batch of episodes to start a season yet. None of these episodes are even top 20 in the series. Many bad writing decisions and details that are not explained. There’s still time to fix and explain some things with the other 2 parts and I trust that the writers will because they have never failed with this show but this episode in particular wasn’t it I’m sorry. Some of the worst writing in the series.
@aaronpaulo7533 nah, it was pretty obvious what was happening. all the moves were clear. its a damn good fight actually with great variation in choreography that showed the different styles of the 2 fighters
Hawk and Kenny got done dirty. The top six should have been Miguel, Robby, Hawk, Sam, Tory, and Kenny no doubt about it. The last spot should have been the deciding spot, the top five should have been Miguel, Robby, Hawk, Sam, and Tory. That’s just my opinion tho
Well, if Daniel would've left his biases, where they belong, outside the dojo, they wouldn't be 1 powerhouse fighter down. Shawn would make short work of Devon. Devon's only there because Aisha's outta town anyway. Devon may be as a backup fighter but never among the top 6. Piper, Kyler, Brucks, Doug, and Mickey would be good backup fighters too.
This was definitely one of my favorite episode this season so far and mike vs johnny chef kiss lol, I'm i knew Robbie would get captain and Sam makes sense in opinion,
Demetri and hawk have more experience than both on the mat and off the mat so it would make more sense for them instead of Devon and Kenny. Kenny used a move taught by silver in season 5 that is against the rules because silver knew that hawk was more skilled especially in season 5. Hawk was balanced in season 5 since he won the tournament. Hawk and demetri are the better fighters but Devon and Kenny are good too just not their level. Kenny literally lost to Sam and Tory when they weren’t trying even tho is was a 2v1, they weren’t trying. Kenny beat almost Robby cause of the silver move and Robby wasn’t trying but the move had been used to beat the some of the best kid fighters on the show
Miguel, Tory, and Robby all knew Hawk and Kenny should've had that in the bag and they would've had Hawk not showed mercy to Demetrius and Devon never got hold of Mitch's laxatives.
No way y’all think Kenny better than hawk or even stronger.Hawk done beat Robby and put up great fights with Miguel the 2 best fighters. I love Kenny but the 3 best male fighters are Miguel,Robby, and Hawk.
Yeah especially if they fighting someone like Kwon, I’ll take Hawk over Kenny and Kenny is one of my favorite characters in the show but let’s be real that S5 Fight between Hawk & Kenny was plot
@@Ethannewberry47 Every singe season man, it doesn't change. I've never understood how they watch the show everyone else is watching and come to that conclusion. I will say Ronin just agrees with Jay, he doesn't mention anything about Hawk or Kenny individually.
18:20 Devon's whining and making excuses seems totally off from her character. She was always so confident. Losing one fight to Sam, who is obviously more advanced than her in a fight she hadn't prepared for shouldn't make her feel so inferior.
ok so Johnny and Daniel are in commonground on Miguel, Sam, Robby, and Hawk so they should've just made those 4 final but Johnny's right about Tory and Kenny should be 6th since Aisha still lives outta town because those are the best they have.
Johnny & Daniel should've decided between themselves on the first batch of kids they agreed on who should go since they know by now who the best fighters are & they did seem to agree on at least 3. Then after that, Mike should've narrowed down the last remaining. I get Devon knew 80's movies, but to me, it makes more sense for Johnny to be a mentor & father figure to Tori. She is so much like Johnny. I do not like the way Mike decided to narrow down the last 2. To me, that seemed like a last resort option to decide because he did not know what else to do. I do think there should've been a final battle royale rumble, last man standing gets to go. Daniel was definitely mothering Anthony too much AND Johnny mothered Devon too much. I get it the show is trying to create drama storylines for later, but what was definitely not fair to do Kenny like that. To me, it just feels like the show did that just so we would not have to see a guy fight a woman. I think Devon & Anthony both needed to learn their own hard lesson in self-confidence. I think Hawk & Kenny should both go.

Sam and Anthony are the only 2 American MiYagi-Do students whose legacy roots are American MiYagi-Do. Anthony's the only American MiYagi-Do student with no history in Cobra Kai. Sam trained alongside Miguel, Devon, Mitch, and Bert in the real American Cobra Kai which Johnny briefly renamed Eagle Fang against the imposter "American Cobra Kai". They're all imposters because both SenSeis John Kreese and Terry Silver betrayed American Cobra Kai in 1984 and 1985 then again in 2018 and 2019. Johnny's, Chozen's, Barnes', and Daniel's students all know both MiYagi-Do and Cobra Kai and have a whole arsenal of unique techniques from both styles so they'll all do just fine against Dohk Sa briefly called Korean Cobra Kai.
Barnes' right about kata, meditation, breathing exorcises, that kinda "new age" crap! The only thing MiYagi-Do can offer that Cobra Kai can benefit from is focus techniques, the drum technique, the wheel technique, and anticipation techniques.
Devon’s character was horrible this season always cried when sum didn’t go her way then had to cheat to get a spot on the team smh if she don’t confess gonna be a big problem for Anthony as Kenny blames him for the incident.
Anthony will be able to prove Devon was the culprit to Kenny when Kenny confronts Anthony because Anthony caught Devon eyeing Mitch's laxatives on training night.
No you'll always choose Kenny cause he black😂 lets be real now, we all know Hawk the 3rd best boy fighter in the Dojo trained with both Cobra kai and Miyagi Do and won the All Valley against Robby and don't even start with that "oh Robby held back cause he saw kenny at the end" if it wasn't for the timer Hawk would have won so don't even try

Barnes' right about kata, meditation, breathing exorcises, that kinda "new age" crap! The only thing MiYagi-Do can offer that Cobra Kai can benefit from is focus techniques, the drum technique, the wheel technique, and anticipation techniques.
Devon's main problem is her bad attitude and her want for praise from people.
Barnes doesn't know Johnny's a Cobra trained by Kreese.
This episode made me lose all respect for Devon for doing that to Kenny.
Hawk deserves to be in the team because he's a champion since season 4. Agree he may have lost his passion though. He seems conflicted this season.

Miguel's Hawk's real best friend.
Devon didn't break any rules which means she didn't cheat but she still doesn't deserve to be at the sekai taikai.
Devon don't need to be at the sekai taikai. She'll lose it for the whole team.
