I have watched this video at least six times, gets better every time. These guys are extremely good performers, not just good players. Come Again is a prime example of using group dynamics to achieve a strong performance. The way it builds during the solo, then they dial it back for the last verse and chorus, and those percussive triplets! Seen them live twice now, and would go again in a heartbeat. I never thought that fat sound they have would come across live, but man, it does.

I can never understand why Big Wreck aren't global superstars, they have everything you could ever ask for in a rock band, they play tightly as a unit, they have some really catchy tunes, and they have a phenomenal vocalist in Ian Thornley.

This guy. Ian Thornley. This guy… there are few around like him. I was privileged to have seen Big Wreck play this past Saturday, Ian about 15-feet from me the entire time. Won’t ever forget it or them. Can’t wait for the next opportunity. It can’t come soon enough. Bless them all and keep ‘em safe and playing into the distant future. For all of us.

I still say it's a crime that these guys aren't more recognized as one
of the greatest in the game of Rock and Ian Thornley as one of the
greatest guitarists/singers/songwriters of all time. Chills every time I
hear their stuff. That last solo is freakin' mind blowing.

What you are saying is totally true. The problem is that the songs are way too good for radio. The general population can't wrap their minds around this. It's too intricate and requires an attention span that most people do not have these days. So instead, we have crappy formulaic four chord pop songs that are a flash in the pan. Big Wreck will eventually get their accolades, but it will take time (forever) because they are going about it honestly. Thank you Big Wreck for all that you do!

i've always said if you punched that solo from overemphasizing and slipped it into Pink Floyd's Hey You, the uber popular David Gilmour would have this ranked as one of his greatest and it would be in all the magazines of one of the greatest solos of all time. Instead, because it was created and performed by the criminally under recognized Ian Thornley, it's not even known by anybody but fans of his.

My first exposure to Big Wreck was the Ian Thornley interview at Anderton's. I watched it because the title was "A Must Watch For Guitar Fans". The Captain at the end said something like, "do yourself a favor and listen to 'Ghosts'". I queued it up on youtube and halfway through "I Digress" ordered the record from Amazon on CD. While listening to the rest of the "Ghosts" LP I hit the interwebs for some reviews of the album; I read a bunch of 5-star reviews before I got to one that was maybe 3-out-of-5 stars. The guy who gave it 3 stars said, "It's a great Big Wreck record, but it's not as good as 'Albatross'" - so I ordered "Albatross" too! These are now two of my favorite albums. So much musicianship in the performances, creativity in the production, and expertise in the engineering. Hell, the sound of the mutipasses on the master alone is worth the price of the record - both records are master classes in every aspect of recording. Listening to Big Wreck is like listening to The Beatles - you're always discovering another layer, another texture, another subtlety.

If you're talking about come again, that was also done by Ian Thornley during Big Wreck's decade long break, so it makes sense that the band slays it.

If I'm honest, I checked out some of their other stuff and I didn't like it as much as this video, they get quite pop, which is cool, just not my thing. I prefer the lead guy doing his solo thing, he's kind of a similar style player to myself, so I'm bound to like it!

I’ve been fortunate to be able to see “Big Wreck” & Ian Thornley’s side project band called,”Thornley” in London,Ontario & Windsor,Ontario down on the river front of the Windsor/Detroit River. Both of Ian’s bands are nothing short of amazing both musically & vocally!!
