This win was especially sweet for every oiler fan who remembers when we were hoping Ryan Jones would be a top 6 winger or that Theo Peckham would be a serviceable top 4 Dman. Or the fans that remember when we thought we had developed our top RH defensemen in Taylor Fedun just for him to get injured in the preseason. Or the fans that remember how embarrassing it felt when we drafted first overall for a third year in a row just for Yakupov to be a bust. I mean it’s sweet victory for every oiler fan, but for the ones that stuck it out and cheered and watched throughout the dark ages, last night was something else.

I live in Edmonton. There are flags everywhere.
Been waiting gor this for 18 years!
I worked the game and I was crying! I've waited my whole life for this moment! It feels special working the games. It's crazy to think I'll be working the Stanley Cup finals. I had chills being in that building tonight!🧡💙
Did you become a fan by working at the arena or were you already a fan?☺️ honestly just curious. thx for sharing your experience :)
@@HazeMatrix I was already a fan and I was born in Edmonton. My parents had Oilers season tickets during the glory days and when I was very young so I got to go to the games when I was little.
@@Swoleunicorn666 awesome!
We are too down here in Bakersfield aka Condortown where their AHL team plays I've got to see a bunch of these guys and Bakersfield is an Oil City as well.
I was there tonight, i drove up from calgary with my youngest nephew...the building was electric from the energy
Broo going through all that makes this feel even better. I remember watching line ups with Darcy hordichuck, Ben Eagar, Liam redox list goes on. But 4 more to go let’s goooooo
The cup woman is hilarious 😂
She's the wife of a guy I used to work with. It's hilarious seeing all of the reactions to her all over the internet.
Mama Stanley! lol
This was an awesome video. Positive and informative.
0:02 dude filled with the oily spirit
I'm from Edmonton, and that was the most stressful final 40 minutes that I have ever watched. They went into defense mode after going up by two and killed the rest of the game, without trying to score, or at least it looked that way. Not their best game by any means, but I'll take it. 😄
They literally backed into the Final! 🤣 But they sure as hell CANNOT afford to do that against a Bobrovsky-backstopped Panthers! 🙈
@@mrconfusion87 That was only one of four wins. Dallas was supposed to win in four or five.
I lost years off my life with Vancouver, I lost hair on my head in the beginning of the Dallas series but now here we are, let’s go oil bring home the cup babbbbbby 🎉🎉🎉🎉
The Oilers vs former Flames Tkachuk and how that is some kind symbolic Battle of Alberta revenge would be so great to hear you cover lol
As a Ducks fan, it was funny to laugh at the Oilers and the constant failures they had (maybe my karma was getting Eakins as a HC). But now I’m super happy for this team. Super happy for all the players and the die hard fans. I wish the Oilers nothing but the best of the luck in the finals and it’d be awesome for hockey to see 97 win a Stanley cup
Congrats Edmonton and Vancouver
I cannot wait for the correy perry curse video after the finals
I got so nervous I couldn’t watch the last minute- I only knew they won because the whole neighbourhood erupted . Neighbours started lighting fireworks all I could hear is cars speeding down the henday everyone honking.
I'm an oilers fan from North Dakota. Was 23 during last cup run. Someone kidnap me for a fun intervention because I work all the time. I need to just move to Edmonton
I’ve been a die hard sabres fan since the start of the drought. Never watched playoffs in my life since they’ve never made it. This was the first year I started watching every game of the oilers (including the other 82 games) and I’ve watched them make it to the Stanley cup finals now. I can’t imagine how excited the fans are cause I watch the games and I get so nervous to the point I’ll shake a little bit😂
I want my 30 year old nephew to finally experience a Canadian team win the cup. He was born just after Montreal won in ‘93 and has lived his life never seeing any Canadian team win the cup. It’s unimaginable since I lived in Alberta in the 80’s, let’s go Oilers.
The series is going to be great. Skinner and Bobrovsky are playing great. My teams out of it but still excited to watch
This is surreal
Been an Oil fan since 1979. And have lived in Calgary since 1990. That was a stressful series but good on them.
Its wild here in Edmonton right now. Oilers flags on every other car and house. Downtown is insane right now. Chants and cars honking all night. Pretty cool to see.
I'm an Aussie, lived in Edmonton, back in Australia now. Love the OILERS!!!!!!
Ben, Joey, Colby, Dave Semenko all cheering us on from above!
I grew up in, and was present for the Gretzky era, but I actually moved to LA CA the same year Gretzky. After a couple decades away and overseas, I find myself at home once again and with a little puck-luck, I'll be quite pleased when I witness history repeat itself, this time with Connor McDavid setting the pace!
GO OILERS GO!!
Had season tickets and was there for all the Oilers previous cups. Glad to see another generation watching the boys in another cup final.
Oilers fans really are great, humble, loud, and proud !! Go oilers, excited for city of edmonton too
Panthers fan but I’m born and raised Edmonton i don’t think there’s a universe where I lose in this final but it’s gut wrenching as much as a want my panthers to win seeing how lively the people around me will be if Edmonton wins it’s tough
Can you like go through the golies of the nhl playoffs and give a rundown of how they played?
What is this an office reference
Let’s go oilers Stanley cup bound baby 🎉
Great video bro Go Oilers Go win it for Ben!!!!!
Was at the game for the 2001 NHL Western Conference Quarter-Finals at Sky Reach? Not sure it was Rexall back then. The sound was deafing in that arena.
i was at boston pizza with my girlfriend (this is her first playoff run) and holy fuck. she's the one who drank and yet i was the one who almost passed out watching this game. i've had the biggest, dumbest grin on my face earlier, and i still have the biggest, dumbest grin on my face right now. i still don't know if this is real right now.
leafs fan here so so so happy for the oilers, mcdavids goal was insane, skinner stepped up his game. man edmonton I hope you guys win the cup this year.
Skinner pulled through.
Ive been living in Vancouver since 2019 (born and raised in Edmonton), I love driving through town with my oiler flags on the truck!! Go oilers!
Good on ya for the Ben shout out, 👍
even though my canucks lost to the oilers in a valiant effort. i'm happy for mcdavid and the boys, hopefully this ridiculous cup drought for a canadian team comes to an end. also its nice that there's still some BC flavor on the oilers roster (nuge+kane).
go oilers go!
Even in elementary I remember going out for recess on game days and everyone would be chanting "Let's go Oilers let's go!" so yep everyone does seem to like their hockey here. Your right about the car flags too, everytime I go out I at the least see 1 or 2.
You mentioned Kane there, seemed like he was injured this game no? Not sure I saw him come back.
He came back during the game
Im in Millwoods and looking forward to hitting Whyte ave when we win the cup😂. The party on Jasper ave in 83 was awesome, walked up and down the street till like 3 in the morning 😊
I cried my eyes out, with my mom as well, when the Blues won the cup in 2019. I fully understand. I am pulling for you guys!
Oilers fan here, I love your insight, with the old Flames players. Don't forget about Turtle.
man idk who to cheer for i 100% would love to see mcdavid and the oilers finally get one but im from st.louis and would love to see tarasenko get his second and the stl native matthew tkachuck get his first!! very exciting final!
Okay I almost, I mean if not for the blue jackets and of course the bruins really showing up in the regular season I might've been an oilers fan because I would play with them a lot on NHL 19 and I really want them to win for many people and reasons, especially because of who they're going against
Skinner was a fan of Ryan Nuggent-Hopkins growing up. Now he looks like he could be his father.
LOL. I thought the same thing.. this is funny.
As a canucks fan, I'm happy for you guys. Wish my team wasn't injured to shit but hey canadian team may win it and that's somthing we can all get behind
Rooting for Edmonton!
How about how the Oilers are on a battle of Alberta world tour chasing down all of the ex flames on their new teams to beat them again
Just came back from Jasper Ave, wow! What an experience 🎉🎉🎉
i was waiting for this video
I’m so happy that Edmonton made it and I really hope they can win it and congratulations to all the players and fans on your journey and good luck
ive lived in Calgary my whole life but been an Oilers fan my whole life. Its very surprising to see how my Flames fans are actually cheering for the Oilers... the rivalry is fun and all but i think everyone understands this is for Alberta, for CANADA.
LET'S GO OILERS! 🇨🇦
