The worst part of this whole Authentic Only Debacle (imo) is that lots of collectors have both. I know you, Seena, Springflower and others have spent hundreds, if NOT thousands, on Artist rendered dolls but some Artists and Authentic Collectors don’t even consider that point. It’s as if the investment you made means absolutely nothing to them. Is it just greed? I mainly own fax similes (that’s my new name for them lol, sounds Fancy), but I am happy for everyone who owns what they want to own. My Tobiah sculpt is one of my faves too. I named her Oceana Journey 😀. There’s a huge divide in the meaning of Value in the community. I’m a doll collector, my dolls have great Value to me regardless of their price tag. 😀

This is so true....they don't understand how we give them a personality, give them names, dress them in cute clothing that fits their personality. These are our babies. Some of us are more sensitive toward the harrasing names. I for one use my dolls for therapy, and it hurts when people put them down. Would you do that to a real child? I know its just a doll, but they mean so much to me. I buy the ones I can afford and I make them my own little people...they are so loved. Some people just can never understand that.

She knew it would draw in people from both sides and after pretending to be an understanding human, narcissism allowed her mask to slip. She chose the word garbage intentionally to hurt people's feelings. She believes the replicas are garbage and has no empathy for those who do not. I also saw the comment made to the person on disability and was extremely disappointed in that content creator that made it. I immediately unfollowed her as well. There are three types of people in this world. Those who are kind those who are unkind and those who pretend to be kind. From what I've seen that group is comprised of people who lack empathy and boundary recognition. They are all best left alone with zero engagement to starve them of the challenge fuel they crave to feed their emptiness. Little Esme is adorable, all of the replicas are adorable and that group has lost their footing and is beginning to drown in the pool they created. I would like for the artists to show us the paperwork behind their claims that their work was stolen because I believe it is more logical that their work was not stolen and the manufacturers have found a loop hole to legally create and sell the dolls and the artists are just angry at that and so they want to punish and shame customers on the world wide stage. Because of their own lack of knowledge and inaction in their business they want to pass the buck, pass the blame and focus onto others instead of focusing on how to make certain they leave no loop holes open in the future. I have 3 prepainted replica dolls that came as unassembled kits I put them together and weighted them they mean so much to me I love them all and feel like a made them because I assembled them and feel they are as special as the 1 artist painted doll I have that Stephanie Ortiz painted I love her as much as my replicas they are all equal in my eyes.

What size is your doll?? I’m new to the community and I bought a replica to see what all the talk was about lol. She’s so pretty!! Looks like yours but sleeping. It’s got veins and capillaries and mottling. It’s a 20 inch but seems so tiny. It’s adorable. No I want to make my own. I’m also going to weight this one that I have now.
I definitely agree with this statement. Both Kelligirl & Shellbea say mean stuff to drum up views. Their silly spending on expensive baby items is ridiculous. $200 diaper bags, $30 dollar cloth diapers, super expensive designer clothes are just them trying to show off. The Reborn Doll Community has evolved over time. It started with humble beginnings (with people repainting other dolls), it morphed into a “status”, Luxury hobby and then due to certain circumstances such as the community growth took off and people don’t want to spend that much money on their dolls anymore. That’s where it is now, I think the days of people spending thousands of dollars on vinyl or silicone dolls may be dwindling.

I definitely agree with this statement. Both Kelligirl & Shellbea say mean stuff to drum up views. Their silly spending on expensive baby items is ridiculous. $200 diaper bags, $30 dollar cloth diapers, super expensive designer clothes are just them trying to show off. The Reborn Doll Community has evolved over time. It started with humble beginnings (with people repainting other dolls), it morphed into a “status”, Luxury hobby and then due to certain circumstances such as the community growth took off and people don’t want to spend that much money on their dolls anymore. That’s where it is now, I think the days of people spending thousands of dollars on vinyl or silicone dolls may be dwindling.
