Easy thing to remember. If you can take the CDL test in it, It requires a CDL to drive. Manufactures rating on both truck and trailer = 26000 or less no cdl, 26001 or more CDL required. Sometimes the tag on the trailer is messed up or some people take them off. If that happens then DOT takes the rating of the tires adds them up and uses that.
Good luck with your new trailer. Great to see family working together.
Thank you
Getting my CDL was the best thing I ever did for my business it opens up plenty of opportunities

easy to do Business with
really good people. I've been buying my trailers from them for a long time. Good purchase
Got my dump trailer from them!
1 glow plug out in new england is enough to give you a hard time starting, take it from a dude who had five 6.0s and a 7.3l for plowing. Also doing the glow plug cycle 2 or 3 times helps a lot too but they really are great trucks
Good on you guys I love the old power stroke lineup and Steve put the black on top of the 7.3 it would look beautiful! I hope it all works out guys God Bless!
Nice trailer! Just be sure to spray the underside with some Fluid Film so it doesn’t rust and lasts a long time
My hard start in the cold was the ficm. At 32 ish degrees lol Plugged in always fine. Loved my 6.0 put 100k of the hardest hot tuned miles on it before I let her sit for trans repair
I have a 2017 f250 I was eating tires up like crazy 4 sets in 3 years. I drive a lot. I got desert hawk at3. They weren’t too bad on price, but it’s been about 6 months and barely anywhere. Not bad on ride either!
Any wear
love the 7.3s . straight work horses
First thing; IS this a 7.3? If so switch to 5w40 FULL synthetic oil. (I like the Shell Rotella) and 2; Make sure your fuel filter is fresh and add plenty of anti-gel additive to your fuel with it being so cold where you are for extended periods of time. Also look into Archoil FUEL SYSTEM additives. I have a low mile Late '99 7.3 myself and have tried all the other additives and am very impressed so far with the Archoil. Do NOT use any oil additives unless your engine is pretty much on its last legs or hasn't been maintained well-as in not changing the oil often enough. MY L99 has just 170k miles now and when I had a UVCH replaced several years ago the mechanic said the engine looked new inside. It has run on Shell Rotella 15w40 conventional since new here in Florida (Except 2 oil changes with the 5w40 full synthetic which is just too thin for our hot/humid climate here)
I have a L99 7.3 DRW truck. I have been running the Firestone Transforce H/T tires and am on my second set. They are great tires IMO. I run empty 95% of the time and you're loaded well over 50% of your miles. I think you should use a more agressive tire up there where you get snow.
Remove your brake emergency battery in trailer. And put a deep cycle boat battery. Now you have brake power and winch power that charges when you drive
That’s where I bought my trailer best price by far.
Those 1st Gen 05-07 Super Duty’s are all I run for my company. They are durable, easy to keep running. Forget about these expensive overpriced new trucks with spyware, Defs, electric sensors for farting and emissions.
Bf Goodrich KO2s have been great for me.
the CDL thing all depends on if it is for commercial use or not. If it is private use aka hauling your own stuff and not trucking you do not need a cdl. If you have a big rig hauling YOUR stuff you dont have to have a cdl. however there is a lot of misconception to this and if you get the wrong cop you can have a hard time.
They are commercial, they're a business. Doesn't matter if they own the business and the business owns the equipment, its still commercial.
@@Valkyrie1911 no. it depends on if you are hauling for hire not if you are a company or not.
@@tomsullok No, it doesn't. If you are hauling for a business, you need a CDL if you're over 26k.
@ for a business for hire yes. you do not need a cdl if it is not for hire. If you are a business being paid to haul a machine you need a cdl but if you are a business hauling your machine you do not.
I also in New Jersey and have a class A CDL I own a landscape business and my buddy got stopped by the dot . and the dot state troopers said register trailers to 0 weight limit
And you can get around some regulations 16:57 16:58 not having a CDL
Can you explain a little more on why? I’m slightly confused on how that works.
I’m in ct and learned the hard way 26,000 combined truck and trailer gvw
in fl, my 07 ram 1500 (running no cats so the tune is off) struggles to start in anything under 40 (maybe 3 nights a year). boy would she be stubborn in 5 degrees lmfao
You can re-sticker the trailer for lesser weight. You just can’t go over what the sticker says from originally
Nice trailer. Old gal don’t like the cold, but she’s a runner and a worker. Was wondering which Powerstroke V8 is she. 7.3 or 6.0. 😊
That's a 6.0 the last 7.3 was early 2003
@
Thanks. 🙏 😊
Didn't you buy tires for the gold truck less than 1 year ago??
Yup
Only got a year out of them
Crazy right
I'm willing to drive at least 10 to 12 hours to get what I want😂
Nice trailer!!
Now you'll just hit your head instead of shin behind truck😂. Nice set-up
Nice truck and dog! 🤘
You registered your trailer, zero weight and your truck, twenty six thousand pounds . In the state of new jersey, it's combined weight
They go by length as well
In New Jersey if your truck has any advertising you need commercial Tags

Do you not have glo plugs
Nice trailer
Im surprise you dont plug your 7.3 with an extension cord!!!
Great bunch of guys there Who was ur salesman Dave, the owner Greg
I know cause I live in new jersey
So you won’t be buying anything new specifically a dually. All of them are 14k. But it won’t be hard to over load that rear axle. With it being a 11k gvwr
Add some PS Diesel Kleen fuel additive in every tank and Arch oil additive makes cold starts on a 7.3 a breeze.
id hate to see ya get nailed id look in to it more in pa you need a class a for any trailer over 10k weather youre under 26k or not
Make the single rear wheel a dual rear wheel with f550 axles and suspension!!!!
Dot goes by the door sticker weight info.
Changing axel from srw to drw the truck needs to be re certified.
Depends on the state.
Less grief to just have the OEM drw truck unless your really patient and have the beans to spend.
Congratulations Philadelphia Eagles baby
Anything over 10k gvwr and commercial you need a medical card.
You guys are really starting to look alike with all the facial hair, real talk
Firestone are junk tires I’d go with michelin defender tires
MICHELINS ARE BIG MONEY
That CDL thing must be only for a business, correct? If it's personal you don't need one, right? I believe in my state if it's a business I don't even think you need one then and if it's personal you don't need one in my state
No
No CDL is for weight, Air breaks and length and medical card plus log books!
