I saw Lightnin play live right before the end. He was drunk, but could still play about a minute and a half of each song. He was on cruise control, but was still locked in. Pretty amazing, as was his purple polyester suit. Thanks, Jon.
Hey Jon, I’m a Delta/Piedmont player from way back. Your love for this stuff really shines through. I started with Hot Tuna live at Orleans House before I knew about Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Blake, etc. Thanks for keeping the lamp trimmed and burning…
My man!!!! You're the best Jon!! Thank you.
Great lesson!! Would really like to see how you play the Muddy Waters electric version of Baby Please Dont Go from late 70's. Thanks for all the awesome lessons!!
I second that!
'Ol Lightnin'...From right here in Houston, Texas!
Used to see him at Liberty Hall.
John, Greetings and hello. Fan here. I've been around players that can move their fingers fast all over the place. Hit every note. But it doesn't hit my heart and soul. Where I go, man that was good.
Thanks for the clip really helps to get into the groove. Love how Aerosmith did it too.
Excellent lesson! You're the man!
Very cool 😎😎😎... I haven't heard ( or even though about ) playing this tune in FOREVER...
Thanks for the refresher Jon.
All the best man
Love your 'review' of Hopkins' playing Jon! I am trying to apply this classic song to electric guitar but i am struggling weather to use the highest string for the bass or not. There really isn't a good lesson for the electric guitar for Baby Please don't Go, so, when can we expect yours! ;)
What about Yamaha I have a Yamaha f310 plus fender and Les Paul and out of all my guitars I have to say my Yamaha f310 with a simple pick up gives me the most pleasure each time I play it is there any blues players that tend to use Yamaha or am I just a odd ball it's fine I've always been a odd ball
What make is your Martin m8
looks like my ooo-21 to me-and it rings like one too
And I have to say r l Burnside remains one of the best players for me
