I received honors in High School shop class, many decades ago, for wood working. When you have a log like this, and I see the amazing grain I wish I could get it. It's all to the imagination to what could be made from it.
I almost never comment on videos, but I have to tell you how much I enjoy watching you work. It's a joy to watch someone that is so down to earth showing his work. I can't explain why I am hooked on watching a log being milled but it relaxes me. So if you keep making these videos, I'll keep watching them. I really enjoy the maintenance videos on how you keep the machine going, very interesting! May God bless you and your family.
That did turn out to be a great log. Nice boards. You always just wait for the knots to start showing up, but they just never did. Hmm, must have just been a really good sawyer. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us.
From Australia. Nice to see you have an Australian National Flag on the wall 👍. Would love to see that blade handle some Australian Buloke, tough stuff, makes great chopping boards and Butchers Blocks.
What a beauty of a log! i milled a 120 year old oak recently almost as clear as this one. Had to cut it into quarters with the chainsaw and it was still hard work on the bandsaw mill. Hopefully I can turn it into some furniture in a few years.
@@markgalicic7788 it was a weird shape, the tree split in half, so we basically milled two quarters of it, but even that was hard work. The grain was stunning.
lol, i was just watching back trying to watch all the videos i never seen, i've made it back to where you had the collar turned and the new blade put on..
@@markgalicic7788 i'm really enjoying watching how the mill developed into what it is now. i've been trying to watch 4-5 older vids a week, sometime more, i'll get thru them all in time..
Amazingly free of knots all the way to the center, that thing grew in a mature forest reaching for the sun from the time when it was just a little sapling.
@@markgalicic7788He's near you guys isn't he, same state at least? I think he'd get a real buzz seeing your setup if you could get him over, and watching him mill logs on that little band saw he got just makese scream lol
It's funny that folks are reminding Mark about sawing procedure, in the comments. Every once in awhile I stop for a sec and wonder, "Did Mark put the dogs in, or roll it forward". Then I realize he's done this for years and Mark knows how to keep track of it all. Don't worry bout it.
Mark you said, after you called the viewers 'Shortly' (I may be a hair taller than you) that you had some Hemlock coming, who do you plan on poisoning?
That's money board. Get that dryer up and running. S4S 1x10 (3/4 x 9 1/2'' 6 to 8') about $16 or better board ft in Eastern Pa. Or save it for your retirement. Like that'll ever happen. 😉
I hadn't seen one of your videos come up for some time..I always look forward to seeing them. Today, one popped up so I clicked on to watch it thinking that something had been going bad for one of you guys and I found myself unsubscribed.. I hadn't done that..Paul in Ohio..
If you decided to let the mindless drivel stop coming out of your gob I never would have known four quarter is an eight over and what fas meant so keep it up! Never stop the commentary. It’s appreciated.
hey mark put twin turbos and a supercharger on that screamin demon Detroit then you can run two blades at one time and double production and retire from the maintainance job and saw full time letter rip tater chip buzz buzz buzz yawzer
I was just wondering how many board feet you sell as sawdust each year. You send a lot to the dust bin you must be getting a lot of money for sawdust, I watched you shave the same log for no apparent reason. Except that maybe you must show America how great your sawmill is. You waisted more lumber than any Sawyer I have ever
I do like your videos, but it’s sort of the same old thing. I was wondering if you could change up the contents a little bit like something like maybe ask for some suggestions or comments it’s just the same old thing I don’t know what to say. Sorry.

yes many nice projects from this log for sure.
I hope the sawing crew is enjoying their vacations. That crooked log sure did produce some good looking clear boards.
thanks , back to work for me this week.
Good evening from Lincolnshire UK.
good evening Andrew.
love watching the saw eat those log,s like they are foam.
enjoy watching.thank you.larry in INDIANA USA
glad you liked it Larry.
You have the "BOOM" when you turn the logs, and then you have the "POP" when the cuts fall to the belt. .
I like it!
Oh yeah, I was definitely watching, Mark. It's always fun to watch even if I can't yell at my computer.

I wasn't expecting much since it was the butt end of the tree but wow was i ever wrong. That looked like a cabinet makers dream!!
perfect boards for sure.

thanks Paul , we have a few people that TH-cam has unsubscribed nut sure why.
I was wondering how you account for the actual width of the blade ie if your cutting a 50mm board what do you add to the sets if anything
the kerf is 9/32" so I just use a 1/4"
looks like you have sark stuck next to the blade
hunk of bark.
Nice log! Thanks!
thanks.

for sure.
When are you going to install the red lazer? That blue one can hardly be seen.

So true
Awesome 👌 loved it. Very satisfying to watch. What is an acceptable amount of error when sawing a large amount of the same size??
thanks , not sure what you are asking.
@markgalicic7788 let's say you are sawing 4 quarter x 6. If some are 1 1/8 x5 7/8 due to inaccuracies.
@@williamturkewitschturkewit1549 1-1/8" is what I saw as 4/4 and you should saw over 6" for shrinking while drying
