If any of the fine young men who passed inside thousands of these planes or any of the fine young men who with a bit of skill and huge amount of luck managed to finish their tour and have since passed ever wondered if their bravery, their patriotism and their commitment to preserve the good of the world and to conquer evil would ever be worthwhile and remembered then I hope there is a heaven and that everyone of these boys were watching this event. If they were then hopefully us 21st century mortals have proved we love them all and will forever remember them.

One of the B-17s used in the 1990 flim Memphis Belle carries the markings of the real Memphis Belle and it is still flying today
