      let me ask u something...i wear tight clothes and very tight bras...in the last 3 weeks, once every few days i have a short breath...i will USE A BETTER BRA AND DO THESE SWINGS...IM SURE IT WILL HELP.

    • @EricSherrell
      @EricSherrell  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@teddybears4life240 Yes. You might be having some tightness issues with the clothing. Most likely the clothing is not the cause, but is making the internal stagnation you have worse. Wear some looser clothing and do the arm swings. Report back and let me know how things are going. Wish you the best! :)

    I am a long-term COPD patient in my seventies. At a recent Spiro test I asked the specialist NHS nurse about this exercise and the' 50% increase' claim, expecting her to be dismissive about it, but she simply said quite calmly " Yes, it does."
    That's good enough for me so I'll be adding this to my exercise routine !

    That is a very good question. It really depends on the person and their level of fitness. The more fit the longer it lasts. Probably make you feel better for a few hours if you're bad off and make you feel good for a whole day if you're really healthy. This is an exercise that is cumulative. You have to do this exercise every day for a few months to really start seeing the longer lasting effects. Ain't nothin good come from slackin. ;)

    Good question. I am a runner. Have been my whole life. Running only works your core and legs. It doesn't focus a lot on the upper body. The upper body is where your lungs are located. This exercise specifically focuses on the neural plexus that innervates your Lungs. This is like running for your upper body. Try it. See what happens for ya. ;)

  • @EricSherrell
    @EricSherrell  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes Sir/Maam! ;) First thing is that this arm flail is not flailing your arms per se. You should not be a wet noodle and not rigid. Its in-between. Second, when you open your arm pits like this over and over again you begin to activate the nerve plexus that innervates the heart and lungs. This pumps oxygen and blood throughout the body in a manner that isn't usually done by most modern day exercises. Try them out and let me know what you feel. 50 per day for 1 week. You will love it!

  • @EricSherrell
    @EricSherrell  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good question. Just breath like you normally do. There is no need to physically force the breathe. You will hurt yourself if you do that. The increase in oxygen comes from manually pumping the lungs with the arms. Its related to where the nerve plexus for the lungs and heart is located (aka, the Lung & Heart Mai in Chinese Medicine). Try the exercise everyday for a week. Love to hear your feedback after that. :) Keep up the great work! ;)

It is because of this exercise!! Mr Eric said something about the heart meridian being affected if I recall correctly, I think it is related. My friend had the same results. Funny how mind and body are linked. Again, wonderful exercise. LIKE ! Learn this exercise and keep it in your pocket, you never know when it will be useful. The Lungs are directly innervated and supplied with blood by nerve clusters and arteries that run through these areas. The major areas that get blocked up are the joints and the articulation and movement of areas that don't normally move (the ribcage). This isn't an overnight fix. However, if done on a regular basis it will help open up the Lungs to more efficiently process Oxygen. Try it out. See if it works for yourself. I have another exercise I'll be putting up on vid soon too.

    There is a scientific hypothesis is when you swing your arms back and forth your increasing your blood flow and when increased blood flow your shaking off not need toxins and other chemicals that stick along an artery or vein so your decreasing your chances of future heart attack and stroke by 20~60%. And when those not needed elements that where stuck, oxygen can flow through, increasing up to 5~25 so it can be very helpful in life.

    This is a great exercise and I acknowledge that it is beneficial, but, where does the '50% increase' statistic come from? Has this margin of improvement been reported in a published study, or is the number exaggerated and made up?

    It is good for anxiety shortness of breath?

    • @EricSherrell
      @EricSherrell  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. A lot of anxiety comes with tight chest and throat. This exercise will open those areas up and allow for better blood flow to your heart and lungs. Your anxiety and shortness of breath will slowly fade away. Do at least 100 arm swings to get these results. Good luck and have fun! :)

    Is there any specific breathing pattern to do along with this motion?

    • @EricSherrell
      @EricSherrell  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, not really. Whatever seems natural. Eventually the arms will pump your breath.

    how does this increase your oxygen uptake???

  • @EricSherrell
    @EricSherrell  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, this will help for lack of breathing due to anxiety. It gets the body moving so the breathing helps. Your mind is focused on the arm movement so the body relaxes. In Chinese Medicine, Wood can reverse overct on Metal. This would be the Liver reverse overacting on the Lungs. Create movement in the ribcage, where the Liver creates tension when not storing and moving blood correctly, then the tension goes away and the lungs can fully expand. Keep your chest pulled up - will help posture.

      I know about the 5 elements but I am not sure to understand your explanation. Does this Ape Arms movement stimulate the Wood energy while moving the ribcage? Can you please rephrase and make me understand better. Thanks

    I really found this video very informative but I didn't know if you could tell me how this would expand your lungs. Mostly for anatomy porpouses.

      Hike Oganessian Thanks. Have you noticed how common it is for people to say "had went" instead of "had gone"? Anyway, or is it anyways....I'm learning better grammar slowly.
