I am a 1969 Vietnam Veteran🪖I am one of the lucky Huey M-60 Door Gunners who survived to make it home. The wop wop wop of the Huey helicopter blades was the song of my youth. Those Hueys were either taking us into hell or bringing us out of it. Sometimes the deck was so covered in blood that we’d have to land in a shallow river just to wash it out. As a combat veteran I can say from experience that there is nothing glorious about war. 🎖💜♠️🪖🇺🇸
Welcome home! I dated a girls years ago who's faher was a door gunner in Vietnam... I was in helicopter school and him and I bonded immediatley. I have the utmost respect for the Rotor pilots and crew during Vietnam.
Greetings first, I want to know, the blade resonances of Uh-1 huey are stronger than Ah-1 cobra, the blade wide core make the difference or the longer blades?? 🤔😆.
The Cobra has a deeper throated sound in the blades, probably because of the longer chord (wider blades). Instead of the wop wop sound, it's more like a deep bass pounding sound. The engine on the Cobra was the same as on the UH-1H
