    Two records were created today.
    1. 11 Roland Garros titles the most by any person in a grand slam in the open era.
    2. 6 minutes Highlights by Roland Garros. Remarkable achievement

      Yes, I came back to get a reminder of how the 2018 final played out and figure out what to expect in tomorrow's final.
      I think I'll go with Nadal again. His current form, demolition of Federer in the semis, and resume of 11 RG titles supports my guess.
      Eleven titles! Eleven! Just how the heck does any one person win eleven titles of a global pro sports event that holds once (not twice or thrice) a year.

    He is the greatest of all time in my book. Roger may have a more general success in the sport but never had and can have this resilience and mental power. His fighting spirit and mental consistency, control under pressure is second to none. His achievements in connection with these attributes trancends beyond tennis. So dominating in 1 surface and a GS, despite all that injury without a strong serve advantage. And so humble; example to sportsman all around the world. He has never been a brat from the getgo like some others!

    What more can one say that hasn't already been said. We are living in a time when we are witness to the two best arguably three best players in tennis history (Roger, Rafa, & Novak). How blessed we are to bear witness to what these 3 have achieved and continue to achieve, even in their advancing ages. Now Rafa adds to that legacy and becomes the first player in the open era (after 1968) to win one grand slam event 11 times. I am so proud to be his fan!!!

    • @gherbihicham8506
      @gherbihicham8506 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rebeca linares Nadal has been injured in teh clay court season before he even had to pull out in the French open 2016 before he even played (he never did that at a grand slam event), so your argument is kind of invalid, the reason Nadal rarely skips clay court season tournament is because he makes sure he is in a top form by skipping tournaments before it, and clay doesn't add the same stress on his body the way Hard courts and grass do.
      Also Federer winning grand slams at 36 years old is even more suspicious, funny how all of his fans seem to forget that fact, if anyone should be further investigated for substance abuse it is Federer by a long shot.

      Technically Thiem is able to beat Nadal on RG, but I am very sure tomorrow he will enter the central court with fear and too much respect and thus less concentration. Without open mind and confidence it is impossible to beat Nadal. Remember Federer on Friday, the same story. High quality play but no faith in success and thus too many unforced errors and bad decisions in critical moments.

    Rafa Nadal the "BEAST"!!! Mentally and physically, without question, the
    greatest this game has seen.
    For the past 15 years this man has overcome and broken through all
    obstacles. For while a Djokovic was up there with Rafa when it comes to
    mental toughness. But even Novak couldn't overcome all his demons, as is
    evident now.

      Novak is back to his peak Now, almost flawless the way he plays. I knew Rafa would lose after watching the 1st set of the AO finals. Can Novak win RG 2019? Yes , he can. But a healthy Rafa is favorite against anyone @RG including this peak Novak. Clay is very different from hard court, there's a reason why he won 11 RG, MC & Barcelona, and still counting. If Novak comes up against Rafa at RG 2019, I'd still say Rafa will eventually find a way to win. I personally think Novak can win at least 2-3 GS in 2019 if he can stay healthy, but maybe not RG. Don't forget Dominic is right up there with them too. Rafa is my favorite to win the RG if he is healthy, with Novak & Dominic as the 2nd favorite...

They forgot that Nadal beat him thrice in that same time span and only lost to Thiem after he had first of all beaten him. Thiem will win the French Open one day, but not when Rafa is still Rafa. Even Federer has beaten Rafa multiple times on clay. But when it comes to RG, it's a different story. All hail the king. 17 slams. Unbelievable.

Anything over is not worth the exhaustion and risk of injury which would ruin the major. Nadal would rather have the French than 100 Monte Carlo trophies (he has like 11 anyway so he doesn't need more)

    13 years have passed since the first RG win for Nadal. 10 more times after that first one, you can still see the same determination, focus, willingness to win and passion as that kid 13 years ago. That’s why Rafa makes tennis great...that’s what makes him one incredible player. Roger, Rafa, Novak, Delpo, Murray...we are living one of the greatest generations of tennis history. Hope this new one can love up to the “challenge”.

    I would like to congratulate to Rafa for cementing his position of THE BEST CLAY COURT PLAYER EVER with his 11th RG trophy. Great performance. Not the king of clay, The God of Clay is more accurate…
    I would also politely ask French Tennis Federation leaders to stop spending money generated at Roland Garros by eating Crème brûlée and Croissants at Joel Robuchon’s L'Atelier and built a roof, at least over the Chatrier.
    It is disgrace to be without night sessions and even more to be without playing during rainy days in 2018, when AOpen has roofs over 3 courts, US open over 2 courts and Wimbledon will have 2 roofed courts during 2019, especially taking into considerations the aproximately same revenue for RG as for AO and Wimbledon…

    • @joshuil1235

      Dont worry they already begin with the building of a roof on chatrier tomorrow (announced)

    • @josephm.6453
      @josephm.6453 6 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      Honestly playing on clay at night kinda defeats the purpose. Clay tennis is a marathon under the sun. It would lose it's charm if it is played at night

    • @trutela9210
      @trutela9210 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for the info, I did not look this year on stuff around, just the matches. So great, I am really happy for the roof and also for the light. So my apologies to the FTF, I did not know they already planned it.
      Joseph M.: Well, I do not know about that. You can have an amazing toe to toe match, lasting many hours and because of the sunset or rain the match is stopped, the usually amazing atmosphere of the crowd is destroyed and players have to play two mathes in two days, what can be significant disadvantage. I remember one amazing match like that between Safin vs Mantilla in 2004, it was 5 set war and at 7:7 in fifth set due to darkness it was stopped. Terrible moment. Next day, few games were played in front of totally different crowd. So, the lights help with this problem. And also, the night matches are usually the most watched and for me personally, these matches have the best atmosphere and crowd. But it depends of course, everyone could enjoy different aspect of the clay court tennis. If the sun is present, nothing changes. If it rains or the sun goes down, the game can continue. So win win from my point of view...
